It’s probably pretty boring to dramatize how organ donation actually works. Why do that when a hot shot doctor can come in and save the day by talking someone into it and delivering the organ themselves? I loved House. Completely inaccurate, but who hasn’t wanted to be a dick to patients?

I guess having it be far-fetched makes it a little less ‘real’ to those who know what it’s actually like too, and that might be a good thing for them in a way? Like, easier to watch or something ...? Or maybe not. We’re all different, I guess. 

Hey, if the patients are being dicks, it’s probably hard not to want to return the favor.

Basically, doctors don’t approach patients or families to ask for organs. And they also don’t choose who receives them. I’m sure that’s what they’re going for - high drama, bigger audiences.

Man - I don't remember seeing a medical drama where that didn't happen at some point or other. How sucky is that?! I hope people on the transplant list don't actually expect it to go like that, before they're given a proper briefing at least. I think House MD was the only show I pretty much never believed. I mean, almost every episode for crap knows how many seasons, in comes a case, here go the team trying to work out what's wrong and having a ton of near misses with the patient's life just in time for an ad-break, then right at the last minute House comes up with the goods and saves the day. Didn't stop me watching though, because Thirteen was hot and Wilson made me laugh. Guess I'm fickle that way.

I’ve only seen one episode of Grey’s Anatomy, and all I remember about it was that this doctor was asking a woman to donate her husband’s organs so the liver could be used for another patient in the hospital who needed one, and that’s not how organ donation works. I have to admit… I haven’t seen enough of his work.

Can’t say I know anything about how organ donation works at all, so I’d probably be none the wiser. I guess they’re just going for whatever seems the most dramatic or heart-wrenching ...? Maybe just a sad fact that what happens in reality is too boring to make good TV or something.

It’s alright. Summer rain probably more than anything else. That way at least it dries up pretty quick. Always leaves this sweet, fresh smell afterward too.

Ever have one of those days where your brain’s on auto-pilot and you don’t even notice you’re fucking up? I ran off with someone else’s umbrella at the Grind today. It was pouring as usual, I went to grab my umbrella, and didn’t notice until I got home that I’d been walking with something pink and covered in flowers. Pretty, but not my style.

Last Saturday for me. I think I went to three different stores running errands before a lady informed me my sweatshirt was on inside-out. Then she offered to hold my stuff while I sorted it out. Felt kinda weird. But anyway, what about this rain, huh?

Probably smart. I get used to the cold pretty fast, but the water isn’t always warm enough for most people. Not early, anyway.

Never been a fan of it myself. Not even sure why - it’s not like I’ve lived in Hawaii all my life or something. But anyway, I’ll keep the early thing in mind and aim for the middle of the day, I think. Probably the busiest time though, right?

Nah, not quite. It keeps me out of trouble though. The clothes are doing okay at the moment, I think.

It’s months for the first two years. I’ve never understood why either. It is nice to have one of them around the house. And the other lives in town, so I see her a lot. Perfect opportunity to embarrass them both. I’m looking for inspiration, really. Though I also thought the post might be embarrassing. I’m waiting for one of them to reply to it.

I must admit, I did wonder if asking publicly for the ideas was all that wise if you were planning on springing them on your relatives. Hopefully you won’t have to wait too long for their reaction anyway, and if they don’t bother, they clearly deserve everything they get in the embarrassment department.
