how frustrated do you think mccoy got throughout TOS due to spending approx. 90% of his time awake on any given day with someone who was in love with spock? he works with chapel. can't escape her. when he's not in sickbay he's on the bridge or on a landing party with kirk. can't escape him. recreational time? oh you guessed it! here's his good buddy jim kirk again. and yup jim's still in love with spock. no matter where he goes. no escape. good god.

you'd think it would improve a bit after jim and spock got together. nope. jim may not be pining anymore, but he sure is mooning. so smitten it's sickening. poor mccoy. all that work he's put into keeping spock's ego a reasonable size, and here comes jim kirk, ruining all his efforts. can't a simple country doctor catch a break?
