"Well…does the City of Vale sound familiar to you?" She kind of hoped that the name would sound familiar to Naoto just to double check that she’s in Remnant. "Or the name Beacon Academy?"
Naoto gritted her teeth, searching some recess of her mind for anything that might point to those names. .. Nothing. "I'm afraid neither of the names ring a bell," she answered woefully. "Are those places in Japan? I can hardly say I've heard anything about them."
"I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many dogs at once…"
"I know. I wonder why so many of them are out here in the school yard?" Marie ask as she about ten dogs running around playing. "Maybe their lost?"
"Animal control? What’s that?" She ask. "They don’t hurt them like pest control do that? Can’t we just can find their owners?" She didn’t want the dogs to get hurt. They seem friendly.
Naoto shook her head. "They just come and bring the dogs to the pound," she informed her friend. As one approached her, Naoto bent to check its neck. "I don't see a collar or a nametag.."
"You’re quite welcome."
”Yeah, it is a bit like Tokyo and is a really nice place to live in, disregarding the high crime rate and all…” Lilac responds taking a short breath before answering the girls question. "—My dad and I come up every year to go visit my mothers grave… it’s sort of a tradition the two of us have…"
Naoto nodded with slight guilt. "I am very sorry for bringing it up," she apologized, her face betraying nothing. "I expect that be hard on you." Clearing her throat, Naoto glanced back at Lilac. "We're almost at Junes," she informed."

Fear
Fear: Tell us three fears.
Naoto shifted lightly on her feet, a hand on the brim of her hat before she spoke up. "I am afraid of not being needed anymore, being cast off once I've served my purpose." She cleared her throat. She could deal with that, she supposed. After a moment she spoke up again. "Yukiko, Chie and Rise's cooking, even though I've never tasted it, I've heard enough stories to thoroughly avert myself from such an experience." She needed another fear. Thinking with her hand on her chin, she bit the inside of her cheek. "Letting someone down. Not being able to solve a case, seeing a family disappointed and distraught by the loose ends.. I don't want that to happen."
Oh boy.
"… Hi! Naoto-kun, you are looking er, quite pleasant today. I mean the day is quite pleasant and you are— shit, do I get a do-over?" she muttered the last part to herself. Kanna hadn’t expected Naoto to be here. Trying again to act like a normal person and not a tongue-tied teenager with a silly crush, she continued, “That gown would look rather fetching on you. May I ask what the event is?” Her speech was a little less stilted this time, but in concentrating on that she forgot about the unusually sensual looking garment that she had picked up out of curiosity.
Naoto blinked at her friend, decidedly ignoring her stutter, passing it off as Kanna's usual awkwardness. After clearing her throat, she dropped the black dress from her hand to let it fall back on the hanger. "Yakushiji-san's wedding," she answered, holding the brim of her hat. "I.. am not quite versed in shopping." Naoto looked up again to see the attire that Kanna herself was holding and pointed. "Is there an occasion for which you've chosen that for?"

"Wait what? B-but you look like a boy" Ruby stumbled on her words upon the revelation.
"I’m sorry…again..for calling you a boy. Do you get that often?"
"It's alright," she assured. "I assure you, I get that a lot." She let her hand hang limp and cleared her throat. "Well, if you can't remember where you last were, can you tell me where you're from? Perhaps you can catch a train back there."

"Nice to meet you Naoto, that’s a nice name for a boy" She nodded
She tugged on the brim on her hat lightly, blinking before sighing. Beating the habit of letting the mistake slide, she spoke up. "Actually, I am a girl," she muttered, glancing to the side. She figured if she was going to be helping this girl-- Ruby-- it'd be easier to make her gender known now than later.
"O-oh! Great!" She sounded more relief than excited since it took her about half an hour and asking four other people to find this person. Luckily, this town wasn’t big compare to the city. A quick glance and her eyes focuses on the ground. "Er, you see, I need help…for…something." Fingers tighten around the paper, the tension causing the frail thing to rip at the edge. "—shoot."
She nodded at the girl's ask for help, then blinked at the paper ripping. Unfortunate, but at least it was only the edge. "Of course," she assured. "What is it that you need?" Naoto wasn't very good with kids, but she couldn't quite turn down a request from the child.

Naoto backed a step away from the shadow, a slight panic on her face as she tightened her hold on the gun, as if it could get tighter. She was alone in this fight, and she'd have to deal. "That is not what Labrys wanted," she assured, briefing considering summoning her persona, but waited another moment. She narrowed her eyes at the shadow, backing another step away before gritting her teeth in concentration.
