Whoa, We're Graduating

Everybody's acting like this is a big deal, like you really accomplished something.

And all you can think about are the countless hours you spent skipping class, getting fucked up, leaving things till the last minute, ignoring responsibilities, renouncing traditional education.

But still, you walk across the stage and the nice man hands you a fake diploma and you shake his hand and there you go, you are now an adult.

Here, you are reminded that nobody truly has it all figured out. We're all just here on this earth momentarily, trying to figure out one step at a time.

It's 4 AM. You can't sleep. 

You have work in the morning.

Significant Mundanity

One day you wake up in the middle of this big journey and it’s a little foggy as to how you’ve gotten here.

Day in and day out you go about your business and it all seems like a pretty basic routine, but all of the sudden everything’s different.

So what do you do? Some find themselves paralyzed with crippling anxiety at the immensity of the existential task they’ve undertaken. Others keep their chins up, roll with the punches one at a time, and trust that everything with work out as it should.

You take somewhat of the middle ground there. But hey, here you are, waking up morning after morning, still seeking growth, still working towards something. 

Follow your passions and everything will fall into line.

Days turn to weeks turn to months and all of the sudden she’s telling you she’s yours in your arms on a Tuesday.

Things are moving quickly as they so often do. Your brain holds caution as your heart moves onward with reckless abandon.

You keep telling yourself that you don't want to tie yourself down to one girl. But deep down you know that's bullshit. 

It feels good to feel this way again. You want to experience it as much as you can. God knows when the next chance you'll get is. Better take the opportunity while she's right in front of you.

Is This It?

Here you are, on the precipice of expected greatness, and it all feels like a big joke.

You find yourself with a job you don't care about and are overqualified for.

You're willing to suck it up so you can have the freedom and autonomy you so desperately need. 

After all that life has been built up to be, is this all there is? It all seems so vapid. You can't help but be cynical. 

But at the end of the day you can sit back, relax, and laugh, for you know how silly it all is, but hey, it isn't so bad either.
