Si la migra aparecen en su puerta
no abras la puerta. Estate calmado.

Reblog to have something good happen at 1:42 tomorrow
I just realized how much free and happier I am the less time I spend with either of my parents
When I finally graduated I was so worried that after a few months I would never find a job.
I was worried that I had disappointed my parents so much.
It turns out they were more concerned about me losing weight and getting married than finding a job.
And that hurt. More than anything.
On the block
Please support this series. It is good !!! It is about family , friendship and relationships. It’s all about loyalty !!!
I love how much the cast of On My Block is working to get a season 2 and promoting it themselves since Netflix isn’t doing a good job. You can tell they love their job and that they believe in the message of their show. What a beautiful cast💕
Me tapping into my inner outside Ruby to convince Netflix hq that they should do a season 2
I need Netflix to give me season two of On My Block because I need an update on Ruby and Olivia, I need to know what Jamal is gonna do, and I need closure with Monse and her mom. Don’t kill this show before it takes off PLEASE!
Dear White People (2017– )
Why is it that people are willing to spend $20 on a bowl of pasta with sauce that they might actually be able to replicate pretty faithfully at home, yet they balk at the notion of a white-table cloth Thai restaurant, or a tacos that cost more than $3 each? Even in a city as “cosmopolitan” as New York, restaurant openings like Tamarind Tribeca (Indian) and Lotus of Siam (Thai) always seem to elicit this knee-jerk reaction from some diners who have decided that certain countries produce food that belongs in the “cheap eats” category—and it’s not allowed out. (Side note: How often do magazine lists of “cheap eats” double as rundowns of outer-borough ethnic foods?) Yelp, Chowhound, and other restaurant sites are littered with comments like, “$5 for dumplings?? I’ll go to Flushing, thanks!” or “When I was backpacking in India this dish cost like five cents, only an idiot would pay that much!” Yet you never see complaints about the prices at Western restaurants framed in these terms, because it’s ingrained in people’s heads that these foods are somehow “worth” more. If we’re talking foie gras or chateaubriand, fair enough. But be real: You know damn well that rigatoni sorrentino is no more expensive to produce than a plate of duck laab, so to decry a pricey version as a ripoff is disingenuous. This question of perceived value is becoming increasingly troublesome as more non-native (read: white) chefs take on “ethnic” cuisines, and suddenly it’s okay to charge $14 for shu mai because hey, the chef is ELEVATING the cuisine.

Hwan Shi Mok: *tries to express his feelings*
Me:
You seem to love Forest of Secrets as much as me, but since i don't have your way with words, i must ask you : don't you want to write reviews or at least some quick thoughts about the show to share and spread this love?
I do write reviews of dramas I enjoy but generally not until the drama is over and I’ve had some time to let my opinion coalesce a little. I also write meta and sometimes informal reactions to things if the mood strikes me. But only if there’s something I feel a burning need to talk about.
But if it doesn’t offend your sensibilities, mind if I just hijack your ask and do that right now?
I’ve only watched up to episode 6, but I’m really liking Forest of Secrets (Secret Forest, Stranger). I like how it’s almost subdued on its surface, like Prosecutor Hwang, but roiling with intrigue beneath. It lets the character actions speak for themselves. It’s so well paced and scored and acted that I don’t really feel the extra long episodes that tvN insists upon. I love Bae Doo Na and Jo Seung Woo’s understated chemistry. I even like the color palette. It’s honestly just pitch perfect. Self contained and tightly plotted.
That’s why I’ve been relatively silent about it other than some reblogs. I don’t really see myself influencing the conversation all that much. I don’t have much to say about it yet other than: It’s good. Really good. People should be watching it.
But I get why the fandom is kind of sleeping on this one. As many people have pointed out before me, they’re fatigued with corrupt prosecutors and dour murder mysteries. I don’t blame them at all. FoS is probably suffering a bit from the timing of its release. That and the fact that Jo Seung Woo isn’t one of the fandom’s hot young oppas. (Not that I hold that against him. If anything it’s a perk. We’ve got an main screen “couple” age appropriate for their vocations.)
I really don’t want to go into the details of what makes the plot great. It’s kind of hard to describe that actual cases in this show and do them justice. On paper it sounds like a fairly standard two-righteous-souls-battle-against-a-corrupt-world type plot. But It really so much more than that. It’s hard to convey the way they manage to inject intensity and suspense into a scenario that could be an absolute trudge if poorly handled. Instead the show feels fresh and exciting.
