Accusing Peter Dinklage of being the reason Disney didn’t hire little people to play the seven dwarves because he personally does not want to be typecast as only playing little fantasy races like gnomes is ableist as fuck idc go argue with the wall
Stop dickriding for the trillion dollar company
you're telling me for the past SEVENTY-SIX years, the indigenous Palestinians are the "murderous" ones in this? and not the WHITE IsraHelli colonizers that have been bombing, torturing, sterilizing, r*ping them?

Judy, a child from Gaza, has four siblings and her father Sami, a notary who works hard to support his family. But with the war, he cannot work, and he has to instead relocate himself and his family over and over to try and stay safe, enduring heat, cold, freezing rain and avoiding the occupations bombing in only the shelter of tents when they have it. And because no aid has entered Gaza in so long, food can be even harder to find, and more expensive than ever. Sami relies on donations from people like us to do what he can for his family, his children, and keep them fed. Our dollars are powerful as currency and can help Sami get these essentials and stay safe. Even if you only have a few to spare, the help adds up when many can give it. Sami, Judy, and the rest of their family thank you.

hey! donate to uk trans charities today because it’s gonna be a rough one
Folks in the UK, could we have some trusted links to charities?
There's Mermaids which is always a great option, and then Scotland-specific there's LGBT Youth Scotland, to give you just a couple. There will absolutely be more that other people can suggest though!
Ignoring finals for now. Jesus time

WHEN I WAS STILL FIVE YEARS OLD.
STEEL BALL RUN TV ANIME CONFIRMED!!
PLEASE NETFLIX RELEASE THIS WEEKLY SO THE HYPE DOESN'T DIE OUT QUICKLY
Hello 🙋
My name is Ahmed, I’m 20 years old, and I’m from Gaza City. I used to dream of a peaceful life, completing my education, and getting a job, but the war has turned that dream into something impossible 💔😭. We lived through this massacre in every painful detail, and we are still in pain 😔. We were so happy when the ceasefire was announced, and we returned to our homes in the north of Gaza after being displaced for a year and a half in a tent in the south of the Strip. After we fixed a small room in our destroyed house to live in and start over, unfortunately, the war returned, stronger than before 💔. Now, we have no shelter and no source of income. We have exhausted all our savings during the war. I know that I started my campaign very late, but that’s because there is no other way to help my family 🙏. I am fully confident and hopeful that someone here will help us as much as they can and save my family in these difficult circumstances 😔.
I know that the feeling of starting from scratch is painful and frustrating, but I hope to receive any amount for my family 🥺🙏.

There’s an awful lot of King Triton apologia. I’m specifically talking about the 1989 Triton. I’m talking fans who think he did nothing wrong before destroying Ariel’s grotto in a fit of rage. These fans are real quick to forgive all the previous times he yelled at Ariel and made her cry. Without ever trying to reconcile her until it’s too late. And Triton making Ariel cry is a repeated motif throughout the 1992 spinoff series. Fans’ explanation will be that he’s just a typical parent. Even when Triton himself realizes he was wrong to do that.
Was Ariel’s obvious fear anytime he got mad not an obvious red flag for child abuse to the fans?
Sometimes I think it’s just adult fans trying to be mature/edgy by saying they now like a character people hate. Other times it’s fans trying to justify their own awful childhoods, being raised by parents just like Triton.
This is going to sound silly, but I think a part of it is people are a little attracted to him.
HEAR ME OUT ON THIS! I'm speaking from experience in multiple fandoms, because it happens all the time.
First case in point:
The same thing happened with Professor Membrane in the Invader Zim fandom. Professor Membrane is a HORRIBLE father. He torments his own son by regularly calling him insane, refusing to be supportive unless Dib does something Membrane likes, allowed his son to be drug into an asylum despite knowing the cause of Dib's symptoms in that episode, and was almost completely absent from his children's lives, depending on machines to raise them. The only people trying to paint him as a good Dad are people who find him attractive.
Now let's look at Triton who, despite his age is way more conventionally attractive, swims around topless, and is a fictional creature that is frequently depicted as desireable
(Yes, the bottom right one is official Disney art, Triton's Kingdom by Jared Franco, and it's expensive)
A lot of people view Triton as a DILF. A lot of them are the same people saying he wasn't that bad.
People in fandoms have a history of defending characters who were obviously in the wrong if they also happen to be attractive to them.
Common examples include Loki before he was redeemed, Killmonger, Sephiroth, Mother Gothel as portrayed in Tangled (the amount of people I see who actually argue she truly loved Rapunzel is horrifying), Severus Snape, Draco Malfoy, Ursula, reboot Catra who continues to abuse She-Ra even after her supposed redemption, Lusamine (by the Pokemon Company themselves no less!), etc.
It's more obvious with villains, but it definitely applies to King Triton, too.
I think part of it is no one wants to admit they find someone who's clearly not a great person attractive. They're fictional characters, not real life criminals. Be all right with saying, "Yeah, this character isn't a good person, but I still think they're hot" and move on instead of trying to defend everything they did. Or if you wanna go the extra mile, write them a little redemption arc that fully acknowledges they did crappy things.
ok i'm glad we're all dunking on the captain america spoilers circulating around because the mcu is a joke and nobody should forget it but if any of you went to see it in cinemas you're dead to me
People on Tumblr: Watching Marvel movies makes you a fascist (?)
People in real life: Hey man how’s it going
People on Tumblr: I am ignorant about this thing so it must be an internet thing that's made up since because if I haven't heard of it then it mustn't be real. I am very smart.
People in real life: organizing very real steadfast movements to support the very real plight of the very real people of Palestine, such as the BDS (Boycott, Divestments, and Sanctions) movement that predated the MCU entirely, which called for the boycott of the new Captain America movie for its inclusion of the character Sabra, a Mossad spy who doesn't see Palestinians as human beings, played by an actress who was exempt from joining the IOF but chose to join anyway.
Link to a list of movies produced with the U.S. Department of Defense up to 2016 (includes Captain American & Iron Man films). Captain Marvel was also confirmed to have been made with the DOD & air force when they were announced. To no one's surprise. Air force promo ads up the ass came with that one.
You are particularly susceptible to your country's fascist propaganda because you're a stupid Westerner and you've normalized this kind of shit to yourself. In real life, we talk about this. We being, you know, the people whose backs are painted with targets by this propaganda. Why would you care?
the Marvel Cinematic Universe is and always has been pro-military, American exceptionalist propaganda. nothing has changed, not even when they slap a black man's face or a woman's face on it to look "progressive"
go watch these videos, that's is if y'all really care
A reminder to the "the American government wouldn't..." crowd. They have. They have made their own internment camps before. They have rounded up innocent citizens and immigrants before. The victims of which are still alive to this day and trying to share their stories with the world, they have been trying to warn us for a long time. George Takei (as seen above) is a famous example of this. He has written about his experiences time and time again, even publishing a book talking about his time in these camps. He may be famous now, but at the time he was just another kid forced from his home. To this day he still firmly dedicates himself to trying to educate and inform people, trying to spread awareness with his platform. The American Government can and will do terrible things. Do not let anyone convince you otherwise.

This isn't a hypothetical future btw, it is already underway. Hundreds of human rights groups and experts already signed an open letter condemning the Biden administration for using Guantanamo Bay to hold migrants captive, most of them Haitians.
If you’re not boycotting this you’re not a true advocate for Palestine.
Beheaded Palestinian children deserve better than y’all to not be able to give up some shitty television.
Some of you will be all “I wanna destroy capitalism” and then throw a fit because you where asked to boycott one marvel movie
i love being in smaller/dead fandoms like. a total of five people will see my posts and thats totally alright. because we are a teeny tiny community filled with peoples passion for things filling the void of millions
