Medical Myths of Masturbation
Ok, so here are some “Medical Myths of Masturbation“. When you were younger and no one talked to you about masturbation, were you confused? Were you afraid? Did you hear things from friends at school, magazines, TV or the Internet?
Medical Myths of Masturbation
Did you ever feel guilty for masturbating? Did you think it was wrong? That you were doing it wrong or that maybe there was some sort of consequence?
Medical Myths of Masturbation – just finished a great session, cum evidence on lower abs
You’re not alone. Sadly, in today’s (mostly) prude society the notion of masturbation is hush-hushed and parents leave the education to the school system, which inherently wants to avoid law-suits so it barely touches the subject as well. What’s left is a a bunch of rumours and myths about what masturbation is and how it affects you. And lets face it, when you’re 11 to 14 and just learning how to masturbate you’re very impressionable and gullible. Not out of inherent weakness, its just being a kid.
Medical Myths of Masturbation – spewed the cum all over front
Thankfully society is becoming more open and less prude. I’m noticing it every week, mostly on the entertainment industry (Hollywood), but perhaps that is where it needs to start.
Even the medical community is opening up and telling it the way it is – naturally. I came across this great article from “Medical Daily” entitled:
Masturbation Myths Debunked: Why Do We Masturbate And What Are The Pros And Cons?
By Dana Dovey
Its a great read and I obviously recommend it, but here is the short summary for you if you’re too busy. (Caveat, there are points in the article about females, but since this site is primarily for men, I only talk about the male masturbation points).
Medical Myths of Masturbation – Group of three bros jerking off together, real bro bonding.
1) The science: humans masturbate more than animals do (yes animals masturbate!). There is a theory that “fresher” sperm are healthier and more capable of fertilizing a female; therefore, frequent masturbation gets rid of “older” sperm (like sperm that are a day or more old) and makes room for the “newer/younger” sperm (my guess is <36 hour old sperm).
2) The myths: there are weird myths around masturbation, but lets clear them up! Masturbation will NOT give you: hair palms, make you go blind, give you acne, or ruin future sexual experiences. The article states that there MAY be a SMALL link to surges in male hormones due to masturbation and acne, but its not supported by any quality evidence, only expert opinion that agrees it is a very weak link. So if the experts think it is a weak link and there is no evidence… I think its fair to toss that myth out.
3) Excessiveness: TOO much masturbation, like chronic, multiple times a day (like >3) for months on end will lead to negative physiological outcomes (see the article). Not to mention the detrimental social outcomes (missing work, addiction to masturbation/porn etc). I am not going to address it much because it is a complex topic and its a simple rule: don’t over do it… be smart, use your f*ckin’ head.
Two bro’s jerking it for each other. De-mystifying masturbation myths together!
All in all masturbation is not something that you need to feel embarrassed of, ashamed of, or in anyway bad about. It is a completely natural, healthy, and social thing to do. It will keep you sane, reduce your stress and make you a nicer person to get along with. Just keep it in check 😉
Two buddies jerking side by side, just sharing the experience, already knowing that the masturbation myths are just… myths.
I hope that you enjoyed this article, and please share your thoughts, experiences, resources and questions below in the comments for us all to benefit! We’re a bro bonding community and we gotta help each other out!
