halfway through the year and i have met my 2026 reading challenge in goodreads!

this is me trying to make up for not meeting my 2025 reading challenge. i’m glad i got out of the reading slump this year.

so far my most fave read is east of eden because it really is that good!!!!

Will forever be intimidated by classic literature because of their length and vocabulary but I am surprised by how easy it is to read John Steinbeck’s East of Eden.

I was planning on reading this for the whole month of July given its 600 pages but i’m a week in and i’m already close to 450 pages. It’s that easy to read but there’s a profoundness in it that makes it difficult to put down. People are really not kidding when they said this is one of the greatest books ever written.

Also, yes, I am reading this as preparation for the Netflix miniseries adaptation starring Florence Pugh!

okay sotr trailer just dropped and it seems like it will follow most of the events from the book (as it should) and i could not wait to be a mess in that cinema because are we ever ready for the most brutal and heartbreaking hunger games of all???

currently reading james baldwin’s giovanni’s room and i had to switch from the penguin modern classics edition to a this vintage delux edition because if i am going to be devastated by a book, i need to read it clearly and not squint my eyes trying to get through it!!!!
