I’m really disappointed by the message the Stranger Things finale sends. They killed two characters, both of whom were abused since childhood and only had a few years of semi-normal life. And the writers’ excuse – that one of them had to die so the others could be happy – is so heartbreaking for me, as someone who was also abused. It just feels so unfair… what kind of fate is that? That the person who already suffered can’t have any happiness and has to make the ultimate sacrifice? It’s like saying only happy people can be happy, and sad people are doomed to stay sad.
