Had a great international conference where two nobel prize winner talked about their chemistry and their pathways in chemistry đ I met some really nice people and learned a lot about careers and volunteering outside academia. The EYCN does a lot of stuff for young chemists as well! Overall it was an amazing experience and inspired me to continue with my journey âșïž
studying for the degree you voluntarily signed up for out of your own pure free will and interest
Master's thesis work is getting serious these days... I have until late September! Also hanging out with lovely people in my free time <3
Today I've relocated to a branch library with AC to escape the heat. Plans for the rest of the day, let's see how many of these I'll actually get to:

Okay ich hab jetzt 10 Minuten durch den Blog gescrollt um was zu confirmen und hab jetzt mega die weirde Frage đ Bitte fĂŒhl dich frei nicht zu antworten.
Ich folge dir schon ewig und hatte mich an die Deutsche-BahnTM-hat-eingecremte-HĂ€nde-und-kommt-nicht-ausm-Bad-raus-Story erinnert. Klassiker. Man kennts. Long story short: Kennst du coole (Haus-)Mittel fĂŒr Neurodermitis? Ich wĂŒrde jemanden, den ich liebe und grade einen Flair-up hat, gerne erprobte Ideen vorschlagen, sodass nicht IMMER zur Kortisoncreme gegriffen werden muss. Und irl kenne ich sonst niemanden mit der Erkrankung (der mir das erzĂ€hlt hĂ€tte....oh Gott...bin ich das Problem?).
That being said, bitte vertraut euren Ărzten und nehmt Dinge, die sie euch verschreiben. Alles zusĂ€tzliche nur zusĂ€tzlich, nicht als Ersatz nehmen.

Oof, Neurodermitis ist einfach 'ne Strafe.
Der Teil mit "vertrau deinem Dermatologen!" (stellt euch dazu bitte ein Pendel vor, das ich wild hin und her schwenke) ist wichtig. Ich habe auch eher wenig in Richtung Hausmittelchen die ich empfehlen könnte tbh. Stress is the enemy was Hautprobleme bei mir angeht, aber "Ha'm se schon versucht weniger Stress zu haben?" ist kein sinnvoller Ratschlag. Egal wie viele HausÀrzte den Satz tÀglich wiederkÀuen.
Wenn ich SchĂŒbe habe muss ich meine HĂ€nde manchmal einfach in Eiswasser versenken, weil taube HĂ€nde sich besser anfĂŒhlen als entzĂŒndete HĂ€nde. Da hab ich höchstens einen Lifehack: EiswasserschĂŒsseln lassen sich schlecht mit ins Bett nehmen. KĂŒhlakkus schon. Wenn du ein oder zwei KĂŒhlakkus in ein Handtuch wickelst und sie dann mit ins Bett nimmst, kannst du deine Haut kĂŒhlen und hoffentlich einschlafen bevor der Juckreiz das KĂ€lte-bedingte TaubheitsgefĂŒhl ĂŒbersteigt.
Ansonsten sind die Cremes von Salthouse echt gut fĂŒr den "tĂ€glichen Bedarf". Wenn man aktiv in einem Flairup steckt helfen die auch nur so semi, aber fĂŒr die daily dose of lubrication sind die absolut ok.
Ich finde die "Tannolact" Packungen zum Baden mega gut!!! Die beruhigen die Haut sofort. Habe ab und zu starke SchĂŒbe an den HĂ€nden und ein Handbad hilft da sehr. Harnstoff ist hier der Wirkstoff.

Third English class of the semester. The teacher has already started bringing extra handouts just for me because she "can see I'm bored." Said she has some chemistry textbooks in English and that she'll bring them too so I have "something to do in class." Lady, I have entire folders with chemistry textbooks in English that I've been going through for years now. She asked me if I've already started reading scientific papers in English. Girl I've been doing that since year 1 of uni. I am about to lose my mind this semester đ
Excuse me, MOFs and COFs are totally fine đ€§đ€§đ€§ they even won a noble prize. đ„čđ„čđ„č
