I was drawing scene Zim with some make up and some girly girl stuff with my door closed at around 12:40 AM and tell me why my dad walks in and says:
"Hi honey, what are you drawing- what the fuck."
I said "I'm drawing Zim as a scene person!" And he says how talented I am but he asked why Zim is dressed up like a girl and I dodged it by saying "he has the same knee high converse as me!"
That could've ended differently with the whole ZADR situation going on in my house rn😔
What do Zim and Dibs colleagues think? Do they care or do they just not give a fuck—

Of course I have an answer ready for this. It's not like I'm writing out a whole fancomic ahem so
Dib's college classmates see Dib as a crazy person because he talks about paranormal stuff. Nobody ever takes Dib seriously. And one day when Zim sees Dib's classmates bullying him for being insane and gay, he gets the whole ''i'm about to ruin this man's whole career by dating him so people call him homophobic slurs more'' idea and then their classmates just continue to make fun of them both.
I love this idea because it takes Dib's attention from these grown up strangers bullying him, to also having fun embarassing Zim. Like hugging him all the time in public, or feeding him food when he gets the chance. Fight fire with fire type of rivalry, like 'you decided to watch movies with me? well, let me bake you this cake in a shape of a heart. Oh, you brought me a boquet of roses to school? Well, I'm going to make a marriage proposal and see how you like that.'
And although Zim recieves the same amount of mockery as Dib, he cares more about his own iternal conflict about Irk having a huge non-romance policy. And now that Dib calling him cute nicknames it's making him feel weird.
Zim outs Dib in front of his father in his own fashion, by proposing an 'important announcement' dinner. But Dib takes it way too seriously, because he thinks his dad is too old fashioned to accept him, so Zim needs to chain him up and drag him into the dinner or something.
With Professor Membrane I kind of see him being more sad that Dib is spending more time on boys then on learning science. Dib takes it as his dad inderectly telling his son that he hates him, but Dib is a paranoid dramaqueen.
Professor Membrane would also accept Zim really fast. Let's not forget he sees them as friends in the show.
"galinda is gay for elphaba" i say into the mic. the munchkins boo. i begin to walk off in shame as a voice speaks and commands silence from the room. "she's right" they say. i look for the owner of the voice. there she stands. its ariana grande.
Sorry for the little rant but I just have to get this off of my chest.
I love ZADR, I absolutely ADORE it! All of the artists on here who draw ZADR are actually SO talented and I've shown all of my friends the masterpieces y'all draw all the time (I show so much my straight friend y'alls art she had a dream she was a lesbian😔)
But my mom found the drawings and stuff and called me all upset, because she thought it was p0rn, saying that it's disgusting because it's an alien and a human and because they're both children (tho in the art piece they were aged up)
What made me so upset is because she threatened to BAN invader zim from my house, and when she bans stuff she throws all of my stuff related to it away, just because I like ZADR.
Like, I know you're homophobic mom, but that's a different level at this point. Even my dad confirmed that it's just because it's gay.
And abt the "alien x human" thing.

I love Love LOOOVE jhonen vasquez. I respect it he doesn't like romanceee and gays and the rainbows. But Zim has always been a child, the puppet kiss exists because they have always been children. The cast sees them as kids, the bible, the whole show is set up with Zim and Dib being kids. Eqeals. That's the whole point.
I watched that interview where he said it, that he's an old grown man -ick- and that he fights with children in school - eye twiching- .. and it's for the art book by McDonnel and oh my gawd that piece of paper is my holy grail-anyway- he knows there are freaky people shipping Zim with Dib and my theory is he just intentionally aged him up, I imagine he must have seen some shit in the past to make him hate it this much...he even says that people ask him about it a lot and then said to ''enjoy what you enjoy''. I love how he's keen on ''It's just not the show'' :3 lmao like yes your show is still edgy don't worry I'm not going to take that away, I love Invader Zim for the show it is. He's so overprotective of his work I adore it.
Jhonen is such a loveble maaan when will he do a streaaammmmm, i need to give him money. And you know what I wish he will actually never see my art, becouse I know he'd hate it and I kind of accept that. (I'm crying in mr. corner typing this) I accept it.
I also love the idea that Irk just has child solders and child labor, because that's so dark, it's exactly how I interpreted the first episode.
If you see Zim as an adult in the show (excluding the shipping aspect) I have nothing against it,- like it gives me the ick because then it's like this adult seeking attention from a 12 year old boy... - but his age is literally up to interperatation because he's an alien, do wahtever you want until you don't ship adultzimxyoungdib.. BUTTT I haven't seen not even a single zadr shipper -at least the small time I have been here- who doesn't see them as equaly aged. Leave the zadr shippers aloneee. Let them beee, let us just have our headcanons, let us make them kiss, let us age them up and let us have fun with their dynamic. It's just SO MUCH FUN to ship themm For me It's like spirk but with an edge to it. Like muuuch more freakier. Mostly wholesome, but then it gets freakkyyy.

I'm new to the fandom and to this ship, which will probably be my hyperfixation for a whilllleeeee. I was a bit sad that it's so old, and the hype has died down...But It's probable I avoided harassment from many people by being so late to the hype.
