Once we stopped calling things “problematic” and stopping at that, class got way more interesting and... we all had to say, like, “that’s racist” or “that’s misogynistic” or “ew capitalism gross” out loud, which a lot of us had never done in a classroom before. Or we had to be like, “Uhhh... I’m not sure what’s so bad?” and confront our own beliefs and that was maybe even more useful.

Anyway. Whenever I see the word problematic, I can’t help but think of this professor being like, “Good starting point, now let’s get specific.” I think when we have to commit to saying “that’s ___” it requires a lot more careful thought about the truth and impact and complexities of whatever we’re claiming. Sometimes there really is some bullshit afoot, and also sometimes it’s art, and it should be full of problems, because that’s what art is.

I guess this lil adventure was nothing but ✨experimental✨ since there's no way on earth I'll survive going against Raphael. When he pulled up at the portal with that other giant prick I had trouble defeating at the Temple of Shar and Korrilla at his side I already knew I'll never win this LMFAO

Picture my situation and see if you would still hope on getting anywhere but the grave: Wyll got yeeted into an abyss literally at the door so I went there already short staffed. All the enemies on the way out apparently had beef against Gale specifically so his squishy ass used up most of our healing potions and still got there with like half the HP. Zivorad was covering for Gale and Hope for like 80% of the time because their initiative rolls were shit so he got caught in the cross fire many times and since I wanted to save on the healing potions he also got to the portal not looking very good. Karlach and Hope were mostly fine, sure, but they could never take all of those bitches on their own lol

Raphael was very rightfully pissed and having a diva tantrum, there was no way of sugar talking him into NOT smiting me which honestly would be my only solution. If I couldn't bullshit my way out then I'll just. Die lol I won't even stress out coming up with strategies or tactics or anything like that, this is a completely avoidable fight I picked bc I wanted to see how it would go, I wasn't counting on winning lol

I mean, I'll still fight at least once or twice and maybe see what happens if I don't get my contract and just try to get Hope out, but I feel it won't be a very long battle if I still have to fight him and when I eventually have to reload a game, I'll go back to the moment I opened the portal that I had saved exclusively bc I knew this quest was reckless and way out of my league but "curiosity killed all cats and it's gonna kill you too", as Hope said right at the entrance 🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️
