I've said it for years, I'll continue saying it: The solution to skyrocketing rent without straight up nationalizing rental companies is FIXED RENT.

There is absolutely no reason why a 1 bedroom apartment should be costing more than $400-500 a month. There is no reason to ALLOW landlords to charge more than this. There has never been a justifiable reason for it.

"The value of the home" housing is a necessity, not a commodity. Treating it as such is straight up evil.

There is not a single necessity for life (housing, water, energy, telecommunications, etc) that has any business being on a private market in the first place. You bought an apartment building, you'll charge what you're fucking told to charge.

Maximum Rent should be calculated the same way we calculate Minimum Wage.

"What about inflation?"

Inflation stops existing when you stop letting people arbitrarily raise prices. How do you stop prices from going up? Stop letting them go up. This isn't rocket science, economics and money are fake and we invented them. They aren't the tides.
