Oscar wants to see him again. He really does.

Decided, he starts patting the bed, searching for his phone. He stops the alarm, unlocks the phone…

And then he stops.

He's staring at his homescreen, not knowing what to do. His thumb hovers uselessly over the messages app, but doesn't click anything. The screen dims, and Oscar leaves it to eventually lock.

i have an idea of what i want to write for the rest, but have not in fact, gotten my hands on the keyboard.

not to be a pedantic hater but i wish tumblr accent wasn't the commonly used term to describe tumblrina typing quirks and phrases bc that is Not an accent it's a dialect!!

accents just affect how you pronounce words

dialects also include grammar (like tumblr users' tendency to not captialize except for Emphasis or ending sentences with commas like this,,,,,) and vocabulary (blorbo, devil's sacrament, #mythis, etc)

Hi everyone, my name is Oscar Piastri, and I've been running around London as the one-and-only Spiderman. Moonlight as a crimefighter, and daylight as a bioengineering student. Not that it's particularly hard. I sequenced my spider's DNA after it bit me… still working on how to get myself some organic webs. I keep him in a terrarium. His name is Bruise. Mark calls him Bruce. I beat up a few guys, feed birds on my balcony, get dragged out to eat by Mark, spend too much time with my head buried in a book, and I can't seem to get home that often. Damn Australia for being so far away.  So, uh, yeah. That's me.

as for landoscar in the choscar au, i still don't know. i think i might have mentioned it before, but for the next chapter i have quite literally nothing planned, i have no idea how they'll get there, who they're gonna run into, or how it'll all play out. i only have one vaaague idea for a later plot point that is quite irrelevant rn

i am toying with the idea of a celebrity (or perchance a driver now) being a regular in oscar's shop and him having no idea they're famous (kinda like with mark), and now that you mention him i think it could possibly be lando?? i don't know, but i'll keep it in mind for when i start writing the chapter, definitely!

this was written from my phone about two hours ago? it's just a filler right before one of the key points of the story

For some demented reason, Oscar grabs the box again while he's getting ready next morning. The towel is still wrapped around his waist, McLaren t-shirt laying on his bed.

He should not do this, this is fucking insane. There will be cameras on him all day, with him still being the championship leader, there will be more eyes on him, more cameras. Anyone could see.

But it's not like he ever goes around flaunting his underwear or wearing too revealing clothes. It shouldn't be a thing people notice when they see him.

The clock ticks and Oscar's hair is turning curly at the ends from the humidity. He's been trying to convince himself not to do it and failing miserably.

He wears them. Stupidly.

He tries to not look at himself in the mirror though, because he can't risk getting a chub again and going like that to the track. So he just slides his jeans on top and makes sure the shirt he chose is quite long to cover over any minimal gaps there could be.

He hesitates again when reaching for the door, but by now enough time has gone and his new trainer is knocking on the door, so Oscar just mans up and owns up to his stupid, stupid choices.

The day goes oddly normal.

McLaren has him and Lando film content, but it's nothing too extenuating like the hide and seek in the sun like the first year. Though Lando becoming a little sun sick after hiding in a garbage bin for so long is probably the reason why the media team has stepped down their game now.

It means their videos are recorded inside, more trivia than running around activities. They meet some rugby players, Lando gets to show off his new disco ball helmet while simultaneously blinding everyone, and Oscar keeps his hands over his hips to make sure nothing moves anywhere.

After a few hours, he almost forgets about the whole underwear thing.

Almost.

Hiii!!! Hope you (and Schrodinger's laptop) are doing well! So I've been thinking about jealous Maxie so much that I had to share my thoughts. I'm not very good at explaining my loose 3am thoughts so excuse me if this sounds stupid but I was thinking if human Oscar lowkey feels bad about scratching Charles and he kinda wants to apologize to him without human oscar interfering so he transforms into oscat at the next race and sneaks into the Ferrari facility and then eventually befriends Leo and some adventure ensues? Obviously Charles finds them and tries to get involved/stop them? i don't really know but somehow he ends up posting a picture of himself, Leo and Oscat. Also Charles is super surprised that Oscat isn't mad at him this time and he is happy that "Max's cat" doesn't hate him anymore. While all this is happening, Max is lowkey kinda sad that Oscat didn't show up after the race to the point that he actually went to the McLaren hospitality to find Oscar. I would also love to see a confused Lando because Max never goes looking for people and the fact that he's looking for oscar is an :omg: situation for him. And then obviously at some point max sees the instagram post and goes :(((( cuz "Oscat didn't hang out w me :(((" Totally not jealous but jealous max but then when oscar comes to see max later he's so mopey and pouty and Osc is like ???? what is up with you???? I'm writing this in the afternoon but this was the last thing I thought about before I fell asleep last night :sob: Again, i'm so sorry if this sounds stupid but I genuinely LOVE your fics and I'm so excited to hear your thoughts on this <3

i love this idea very much actually! i feel like a big part of the installments i've posted are about oscar needing max, or looking for him one way or another. so it'd be a change of pace to have oscar try to find someone like charles! and him meeting leo would certainly be an adventure [up until now, oscar only likes two (2) dogs ever. Basil (his family dog), and Nino. leo could be the third if he behaves 🤭] plus, it gives us jealous maxie who really wanted to be with oscat(r). why is he hanging out with charles, didn't oscat hate him? why didn't he come se me?

i also love the lando cameo and him noticing max never goes out to look for someone. his gay radar is going wild, since he already knows those two have a thing going on.

maybe when oscar finally goes to max, he turns cat mode and max grabs him, buries his face in his fur and then goes "blegh, you smell like dog" and bundles oscat in one of his jackets nd sets him on the couch: "there, you're going in jail" 'mrah' (the fuck is wrong with you) "hah, and you even dare to ask why? go ask you friends charles and his dog leo why. in the meantime i will tell Nino you have betrayed his loyalty" 'mah-ah' (so you're jealous. got it.) "no, don't ask me for forgiveness now. just sit there and think of what you've done" 'mraah' (i wasn't saying sorry, but i don't really care if you're angry. it comfy as fuck here) [starts purring] "i feel like you're enjoying your punishment, and that defeats the purpose" 'mrrm' (stupid human)

I absolutely love your oscat. I was just wondering would Max or Oscar ever think of getting Oscat chipped? For all the trouble Oscat gets into.

Or Max when out to buy cat supplies saw collars with name and owner details on it and buys one as a gag gift to oscar. Who in fact where's it when he shifted and people spot a new cat in one of the race circuits and wonder when Max got a new cat. While Max has a visceral reaction seeing Oscat with his collar.

Just a question, based on the context I am assuming Oscar shifts back with clothes on does that mean Oscar has to wear the collar as human to have it transferred or do he need to shimmy around wiggling to get into the collar?

getting oscat chipped would not be an option no, because as it has been mentioned before, even if his body has two different forms, it's still one singular body. so if you chip the cat, the human will also have the chip, and that's not a thing you'd want, is it?

the collar thing.... i mean, it could work as a gag gift, but i don't think max would put his own information in the tag; he'd put oscar's. max has been quite clear in a few of the installations that he is not oscat's owner (he actually mentions it again in the one im halfway through writing) because oscar is still his own person, and if anything, Nicole would be the owner(?? idk, i just feel weird about ownership.

hmmm for the clothes/getting the collar on part I don't really know. i guess oscat would have to shimmy into it once he has shifted, because the clothes he's wearing as a human don't shift with him, do they? i never gave it much though. so i guess if oscar were to wear the collar it would disappear with the rest of his clothes when he shifts...
