- WARNING - This is what you might call long but I needed to give an expanation of why i was away for so long

Okay first of all, I would like to SINCERELY apologize for my lack of activity and everything that has been going one. I feel terrible sincerely because of my lack of replies to both threads, and also to messages in my inbox and such. I truly am sorry and even so I don’t know if i’ll be that active!

I would just like everyone to know, that although I have posted a reminder before tellign everyone that I would probaly be less active due to school, I have recently run into another problem that seems to have become a serious issue.

As some of you know (or might not know depending on where you live) the state of Louisiana is currently being devistated by floods. Over in an area called Baton Rouge (the area where I call my home) is where most of the worst flooding is, and as of currently I am at a hotel as a temporary place to stay due to my house being compeltely flooded in.

I usually don’t make up excuses and I always stick by my word, but I just want everyone to please be patient while I go through this time as I pretyt much have nothign left over the flood (everythign else has been water-damaged or swept away) and I was lucky enough to save my laptop which I am writing from right now.

I am just asking simply for everyone to be patient, as also on top of that school has been cancelled but I will (luckily) be moving to my aunt’s house in New Orleans in a few days (about 1 or two depending on how quick we can get out of the area) where I have quite a big amount of possessions.

Overall, I just wanted to apologize for everyone for my lack of activity, and truly I want to just say thank you all for your patience.

“Which is whyyy..you need a friend like me, bro. I’m the Yin to your Yang, man.” He said playfully as he carefully examined the face of the other once the shots were placed before them. They were not that big, in all honesty he was exaggerating– well the glass size could easily hold three shots together in one go, but c’mon! Mark reach out for the drink and Taehyung was already showing an amused expression, he knew he didn’t had to put much pressure onto the other to make him join his reckless ideas, yet it was equally exciting to see him fall for it every time. Taehyung always considered Mark could be more lively and free, and if his job was to crack his shell he would do anything– plus the other was hilarious when drunk. 

“If it’s by some fine booty, so be it– kidnap me and make me your~” He mused, arms open in flamboyant expression before he laughed. Sometimes Taehyung wondered why he was so sexual about everything, but he couldn’t help it, and the more alcohol he got into his system, more sensual he would become. For now, he’ll just laugh at Mark’s face. 

Jerking his head back, Taehyung laughed and kept his thoughts to himself for now (but seriously, what was he, five?) The way his eyes lighted up and the way he drank his shot could only scream he was double the naughty Taehyung was himself, but he was to embarrassed to admit it, which was funny as hell. Taehyung made a mental note to get him a box of tissues and a few porn videos later, so he could at least jerk off from time to time.

The loud thud made Tae blink a few times for a moment, before he simply cracked up laughing at Mark’s fierce expression– now this was the spirit he loved! Brave, handsome, smooth Mark, not that conservative and shy person he hid away in, on daily basis. Taehyung tugged on his jacket once more and quickly followed after his friend, making his way to the dancefloor as well, and quickly getting lost in the ocean of ladies that soon enough surrounded them. They were like hungry beasts– like they were the only men available in the place, which was not true, but they were probably the most attractive. That, he was sure about. 

Winking at Mark, he laughed, reassuring him that this was the best decision he made, but was it really?

Mark could compare the club to a hurricane, with drinks and bodies cluttering the ground, and he himself was at the source of the storm.

As soon as his feet touched the multicolor tiles on the ground, arms reached out to pull him in, arms dressed in tattoos and lipstick marks and nail polish. The dance floor smelled of heavy alcohol and sweat, but a Mark couldn’t really tell the difference as the bodies of different women flung themselves literally on top of him.

One might say he was being reveled as a god.

Twisting his head around, Mark searched for his friend who also had been swept in with the crown, eyes scanning for the familiar bouncy purple hair that always seemed to catch his eye. Finally as his eyes whisked back down to where a girl was tugging on his jacket tightly, whining for his attention, he caught sight of the boy standing not too far away where a bunch of girls similar to Mark’s situation were clinging onto him. Smirking slightly, Mark turned his attention away and over to the strobe lights, the beat of the music filling his body.

“Easy ladies, there’s enough of me to go around!” He said smugly, opening his arms wide in a cocky gesture. 3 different girls took that as an invitation to jump into him, snuggling all together in the crook of his chest. Laughing deeply, Mark began to sidestep to the music, mind more focused on the abundance of females around him.

And the abundance of alcohol.

Mark’s focus became trained on an approaching man, clearly too drunk for navigating, and watched as he stumbled through the crowd. The man was yelling random things which, thankfully, were covered over by the booming of the music. But Mark wasn’t interested generally in himself, no, his gaze was transfixed by the two unopened beer bottles the man held in either hand, and Mark knew that he had found a target. Waiting for the man to creep ever closer, swinging his arms wildly, the boy took the chance to reach out with both hands and snatch the drinks away, watching as the man wandered off, clearly not remembering. 

Smirking smugly, Mark looked down at the alcohol and took it upon himself to stick both thumbs under the metal caps, flipping them off and onto the ground as fizzy bubbles slightly spewed out of the top. Looking back over to were Taehyung was, Mark waited until he was facing him to chuck one of the bottles to his friend, gripping his own in his other hand. Turning to look forwards and over to the girls, a mischievous and dark glint in his eye, Mark tipped the bottle back and allowed the burning liquid to travel down his throat, chugging it all down. 

That was one of the many great mistakes he would make during this night.

The noises echoed around Mark, loud yet muffled, almost as if he had put two cans against his ears and was trying to listen out of them. He was crouched down low in what you might call a “Spiderman” position, left leg bent up against his stretched out right leg, and all his balance being carried on his fingertips which were position right under chest. If you would have told him that he would be quite literally making his nickname come true, Mark would have scroffed at you and given a glare. But as of right now the only thing he cared about was not getting shot.

“I swear to god if one more person tries to hit me-” Mark was cut off mid-sentence as a red bullet shot past him, barely grazing his lower back. Cursing the gods, Mark shot up and jumped into mid-air, body immediately shifting into the grey mass known as his enigma form. Shooting up into the air, Mark whizzed left and right, twisting and turning as he dodged everything from blasts of fire to poison darts.

The simulation room truly was out to kill him.

Why it had chosen to be on a small rooftop, he didn’t know, but whatever the case the enemies around him were doing their darnest job at trying to push him off the edge of the building. He was doing a pretty good job in his opinion, a pretty good job at not getting killed. No matter how hard he tried, whenever he tried lashing out with one of his tentacles or sneak up behind an enemy, they always seemed to sense him and would shoot after him. It was becoming a hassle, forcing him to now keep dodging everything in an effort to not get hurt. Constantly keeping up the pattern, Mark began to ponder on the thought of just cancelling the entire simulation seeing as he was getting nowhere.

That is, until the door to the room opened.

More like sinner’s heaven, if somebody asked Tae– as soon as he stepped inside he felt a rush of adrenaline running through his vein, more than ready to hit that dancefloor full of fine ass ladies. DAYUM! They were all looking fly, make-up on point and those cat like gazes all over them kind of blinded him for a moment, before he was snapped out to reality when Mark dragged him away towards the bar– of course he couldn’t walk away without the promise to come back, right?

Blowing a kiss to them along with a wink, he stumbled back a little before turning around completely towards his friend. Man, was he fucking insane? But maybe he was not, a few drinks before stepping into the real game wouldn’t hurt anyone, would they? Chuckling to himself, Taehyung made his way through the crowd as well, pushing away one or two drunken bastards that were on his path, not that they even noticed– they were too intoxicated for that. Once he reached his side, no questions asked, he motioned to the bartender to bring two shots as the other worried about the place being too packed, which in all honesty, Taehyung didn’t found bothersome at all. Climbing up one of the stools as well, Taehyung chuckled to his words, and as always came up with his own few sassy words towards him, as he placed a hand over his shoulder– right in that moment the bartender brought their drinks, placing a shot in front of each of them. “Thanks man– look what’s your problem with it?”  

“C’mon– you’re not going to get drunk with just a shot. Drink it.” He said and motioned for him to take the drink, before he picked up his own and downed it. “Did you even saw those girl? Bruh, I don’t know about you, but whether it’s with them or with you, I will have sex tonight, so you better put your game on if you don’t wanna pay the consequences.”  He said and laughed, standing up again and softly smacked his knuckles against the other’s arm. ‘Let’s go get some dates for the night, shall we?”

“I don’t have any problem with it, it’s just you know me Tae i’m not really quite the eccentric type.” Mark said, glancing over at his friend, the gears in his head turning. The sudden clinking of glass in front of them both brought his attention away as he looked over to where two very large shot glasses filled with a clear brown liquid had been placed by a bartender. Reaching forwards, Mark grabbed the glass closest to him and slid it closer, not yet drinking it as he listened to Taehyung. Watching as the man “professionally”, he could call it, downed his drink and stood up.

“I swear to god Taehyung, one of these days you are going to get kidnapped.” Mark shook his head a bit as he watched a smirk crawl across his friend’s face. Regardless, he felt a heat spread across his cheeks at the sinful thought and glanced down at his glass. 

Maybe it was because he hadn’t been laid in a long time, or because the alcohol seemed to be taunting him, but he couldn’t help but feel tingly at the mention. Sighing, Mark nodded a bit and his eyes seemed to light up as he gripped the shot glass and brought it to his lips, tipping his head back quickly as the fiery liquid ran down his throat. 

Licking his lips, he brought it with a crash to the countertop and stood up with a slight bounce, eyes shining up possibly with the effects of the alcohol or the promise of female attention. It was true, Mark preferred to stay away from alcoholic drinks not because he hated the taste or such, but because he for some odd reason has little to no tolerance for it and will become drunk in two seconds flat. This could be seen as he put on a slightly smug smirk on his face and cleared his throat, glancing over at Taehyung before storming past him and onto the dance floor where a range of females awaited him.

It was a wonder what a single shot could do.

Indeed it was true– Taehyung completely fits the description of a horrible friend, add to that a huge trouble maker, which made Mark a complete idiot for never learning his lesson since he still hangs out with him, but some people just will never learn. Taehyung loved hanging out with him, mostly because he was always willing to make a fool out of himself, well– maybe pressured to do so, but anyway, he was an easy target to light up the other mutant’s mood. 

Ignoring him, Taehyung smirked while tugging on his black leather jacket. It was true, it was cold as hell and Taehyung had no idea why– they were right in the middle of the summer, but whatever, he wouldn’t mind much. After they stepped inside the place, he would probably wish for that cold breeze– he was planning to set the room on fire tonight with his friend, and maybe if they were lucky enough, fetch a few girls for them to have double the fun. After all, Mark only needed a few drinks to push his awkward self aside and bring on his game. 

They look damn good for sure, and Taehyung was not one to hide his cockiness– why? They had right to brag while carrying a pair of faces like theirs. Along with the leather jacket, Taehyung wore a plain white t-shirt underneath, a pair of washed out jeans, and some bad ass biker boots. Purple bangs were nicely combed to the side, even though a few strands of hair were still lingering somewhere on his forehead. 

“Can you relax? Did you come out to have fun or to act like my mom?” He mused, patting his back before he pulled out a lollipop from his pockets, and unwrapping it, he shoved into his mouth. “Want one? You look like you kind of need it.” Without waiting for his response, he pulled another lollipop out and tossed into his hand with a smug grin across his lips. 

“C’mon babe, let’s kick it–” Saying no more, he opened the door to the place; loud music blasting into their ears as a nice welcoming gesture.

“I’ll be acting like your mother at the end of the night whether you like it or not...” Mark muttered, sighing as Taehyung only smirked at him. Slightly being nudged towards the door when his back was hit, he was quick to catch the flying lollipop that was careened at him by Tae, glancing down at the dark blue wrapper. Glancing up, he watched as his friend raised na eyebrow at him, popped the candy in his mouth, and then turned towards the door quite literally kicking it open.

“Might as well...” Mark said, pulling the wrapper off to reveal a light pink lollipop. Throwing the plastic somewhere, he stuck the candy in his mouth and followed Taehyung into what he might literally call disco hell.

The first thing that came to mind when Mark walked in, was music and heat. The place was packed, the dance floor being no exception as bodies pressed tightly together and moved to the rhythm of the beat that made his chest jump. The bar wasn’t that packed, surprisingly, so upon entering he quickly hooked a finger into a loop on Taehyung’s jacket and tugged slightly, motioning for him to follow as he weaved his way around both heavily drunk men and women and made his way into a spot by the bar. Blowing away a tendril of blonde hair, the male slid into one of the vacant bar stools and slammed his hands down on the countertop, glancing over at his friend. Sucking on the lollipop a bit more, Mark fiddled with his hands as he watched Taehyung saunter over, clearly enjoying himself a bit too much.

“The place is pretty packed tonight, and it isn’t even the weekend.” Mark yelled over stereo as his friend joined him. It was true, most of the place was filled with humans and Mark hadn’t seen even the hint of a mutant besides the two yet, so he had to be careful not to be too careless.

To start this wonderous tale off, two things must be kept in point: One, Mark is a terrible drinker and gets drunk in 2 seconds flat, and Two Taehyung is what some may call a terrible friend, but to Mark, he’s the only one who is able to get him into such nonsense. We might name this story the ‘Adventures of Dumbass 1 and Dumbass 2′, but really, that wouldn’t even be half of it...

“Taehyung, are you listening to me?” Mark grumbled, shoving his hands deeper into his pockets. The two were standing outside the entrance to a local club nearby and it was below freezing. He didn’t understand how it could be so, maybe because they were downwind and the lcouds had covered the sky compeltely, or maybe some perilous mutant was scheming, but whatever the case Mark felt as if his face was about to fall off. 

He had to say, he looked pretty good (don’t get too cocky there boy). Under his Northface jacket, Mark wore a slim black button-up with long jagged black jeans and a bear of black boots. The longer tendrils of blonde hair were strewn forwards across his forehead, lightly fanning outwards across his eyes, and he somehow managed to keep a clean yet ragged appearance. 

“I said are you listening Tae? I am the designated driver here, so don’t go tryign anything on me got it?” Mark huffed slightly, ducking his head. He had called his good friend Taehyung up in the spite of boredom and fun, but instead had been dragged into a different type of fun than he was expecting.

But honestly, with Taehyung, it miight turn into a type of fun only he liked.

“TRUTH OR NOT, Because yes— I was dragged here, and such a weird reason, I tell you.” She groaned as she crossed her legs, an arm dangling on her lap, the other floating in the air as it moved in accordance to her words. “There’s this dude guy who tried to attack me because uh, maybe because a, I’m really cute, and b, I’m really really cute, like unimaginable have you ever seen someone like me, no? Of course.” She cheekily huffed in pride as she continued her ramble, ten word per second, and of course, it’s about as hard to catch up with her as hard as it is to ran with a moving train.

Incoherent words escaped from her mouth in a series of just as equally incoherent sentences before she blinked as she stared at him, forming an o-shaped in her mouth before it quickly went down into a frown. “Did you just try to distract me? How incredibly rude of you!” She groaned, hands on her hips, eyes piercing daggers before she stared at him. 

“Who’s your name anyway? You should know me — I’m the cute freshman, Doyeon, quick, give me your name before I call you Rattata the rest of your life.” She mumbled as she glanced at I’m up and down, and perhaps either she’s new here, or she just didn’t socialise enough, but honestly, she’ll call him Rattata either way.

“Yeah so back on the topic of Rattata — don’t you know how trashy it is? I mean, you could literally catch 10 of those Rattatas and they’d still be as lame as only one and stuff — and not only that!” She continued, a smug tone underlining her words. “Have you ever noticed how Magikarp is the best Pokemon ever? Because, Gyarados, you know?”

The words that spilled out of the girl’s mouth at literally 50 miles per hour confused Mark to the point as if she was speaking another language. Listening to her ramble, Mark began to go from a confused expression to a disturbed expression and finally resuming a confused expression once more. She was speaking to him as if he was both a stranger who knew nothing yet a close friend who knew everything.

He was baffled.

“Well for one thing, no I have never seen you before in my life. And for another, my name is Mark, thanks for asking.” Mark huffed, crossing his arms as he looked down at the girl. She was a feisty tiger, that’s for sure, but probably with the brain of a dodo bird. 

“On the topic of Rattatta yes, I understand that some may find it trashy. But you wanna know something? There are about 100 Rattatas in this very area right now and Chipper here is my strongest Pokemon.” He said, jabbing a finger at his screen. Whether it be he took great offense to having Chipper being degraded, or it was just the girl’s sassy attitude, whatever it was began slowly causing him to get on a similar level of feistiness. 

“And that stupid fish? Please, all it can do is flip flop onto my head and it takes over 500 of those goddamn Magikarp candies to even evolve it into Gyarados! Also, I haven’t even been able to find Magikarp around here so bye bye fish out of water.” Mark now was REALLY agitated, snorting and huffing left and right as he glared down with furrowed eyebrows at the girl. If she was going to insult his Rattata, then he was going to insult her Magikarp.

Jin Goo looked back to see a seemingly awestruck Mark. He smiled a little, “You get used to it.” Nodding in affirmation, he pointed off to the far side where a few corridors led to a couple of the larger rooms, “Past there, you’ll have some of the weapons ranges. and on the left is the danger room.” 

“The gym is just next door, so other strength training and endurance classes are taught there.” He looked around, with a look of appreciation, “It’s nice. Everything’s fairly state of the art, clean. It’s perfect for training.” But then again, most things in the Institute was state of the art, and just nice overall. When he first arrived at the school, he was fairly awestruck himself.

“I like it, it looks nice,” Mark smiled widely as he looked down where Jin Goo pointed, and a look of confusion set upon his features as he nibbled the edge of his lip. He had only heard of the training rooms and such, seeing as he wasn't really given a freaking pamphlet that had everything listed about the Nexus Insitute. He furrowed his eyebrows together as he looked back over to Jin Goo,

“Eh, I don’t really care where we go. Maybe the training rooms? I’d like to get familiar with those since I’m going to be using them often.” Mark shrugged slightly, scratching his head a bit as he walked out of the dorm. He heard footsteps follow behind and the door close, so he continued at a slow pace down the corridor as he waited for Jin Goo to catch up. 

“Hehe, well we all have something right? Plus, it’s even a miracle that we got this far in our conversation. Usually I’d be out the window a good 15 minutes ago.” Mark stuffed his hands deep into his hoodie pockets as he turned his head and looked over to the older male. The two continued down the corridor, Mark trusting the nexus member as he literally had no clue where the hell he was going.

Jin Goo smiled a little, “Sure, this way,” he started walking over towards that part of the Institute. He looked over at Mark, “Really? That would’ve put us just at the lobby with your suitcase.” 

They had gotten to the training rooms without much hassle. “Welcome to the training rooms. There are things here with weapons training, emptier rooms for just hand-to-hand fighting, and other equipment for endurance, strength training.”

“Exactly.” Mark snorted, smiling a bit. The two continued down the corridor and stairs and began a straight trail to the main area of the compound where Mark presumed the main classrooms and such were. As they entered through two large double doors, Mark noticed a few people walking back and forth, more than one of them actually having a visible representation of their powers. This left Mark in a state of awe, as he hadn’t really communicated with other mutants since he arrived, besides Jin Goo that is.

“Wow.” He could only say as the two walked into one of the rooms. It was massive, with lines of punching bags pushed up against the wall along with large blue mats across the ground. “This must be the hand-to-hand combat room, right?” Mark wondered, glancing over to Jin Goo. Down the hallway was other doors similar to the one they had stopped at, so Mark presumed those were the other training rooms.

Mark smiled cheekily as he nodded. His pale blonde fringe began to fall on his face again and, with a low grumble, he reached up and began to slip his hands through it in an effort to plaster it down. Unfortunately, the hair merely slapped back down onto his forehead, sticking to his skin slightly from the left-over sweat during the chase. 

“Stupid hair….” Mark muttered, turning to look over at Jin Goo as he walked over to him. A smile reappeared on his face as he walked around the older male and over to the doorway behind him, stopping to turn around.

“If you wanted we could go now? I have a a basic idea of the place i just don’t know where everything is without a map.” He chuckled nervously, rubbing the back of his neck as he glanced towards the door. Reaching over, he grasped the metal handle and pulled slightly, opening it up to reveal the outside corridor.

He turned and nodded, gesturing for Mark to leave the room first. “Let’s go. Do you have a place in mind to visit first?” Jin Goo thinks about what’s near the student dorm. “We can go towards the library and cafe first or we could go towards the training rooms. It’s up to you.” 

They’re out in the hallways now, and a few people are walking by, some with bags and others without. The majority of them are happy and chatting with their friends. “You’ll make friends quickly enough. Usually you see the same people show up around you enough. It also helps that we’ve all got some sort of fun party trick.”

Jin Goo smiled easily, “Sure, I can give you a general tour of the place.” He watched as the other packed away his belongings, sort of feeling as though he was intruding. 

He chuckled quietly, he had had his fair share of battles before joining the Nexus Force as well. Maybe that was a conversation starter for some other time. “Well you’ve got a good while to figure out what you want to take. Maybe after looking around you’ll get a feel for which places you want to see more.” 

He shook his head, “It’s no problem. I figured I should be helpful for once.” He usually didn’t go out and interact with a lot of the students, a lot of the time because he just wasn’t all that sociable and didn’t quite like an abundance of noise.

Jackson actually turned a little bit red at the statement of the male. So maybe he should have gone for the ribbons around the male’s ankles. Sure it wasn’t so comfortable but with his portals he was still able to do that. It also would’ve made the situation a whole lot less awkward. “Alright I should say that I’m sorry?” he started, frowning a little and biting his lips. “But honestly I am not really sorry? I just want your ribbon. Can I not just take it? I was almost there?” he tried. Well he could at least try, maybe with asking nicely he was able to obtain a ribbon. It was at least a tactic he hadn’t tried before.

The portal behind him closed. But his other hand was still hovering in the air. Ready to make a portal to escape through when it seemed needed. But when he felt not actually a contact from skin to skin, but a sort of pressure around it, he yelped and quickly pulled his hand back. He took a step back, too confused and too surprised to even make a portal. Jackson held his semi-touched wrist with his other hand, rubbing over it. While his eyes were scanning the male, but now didn’t see anything strange at all. “What the hell was that,” he mumbled, frown and confusion evident on his face.

“Well preferable yes? Get the ribbon and get out?” he stated, taking a few little steps back. His hand still rubbing his wrist. “Besides, what the hell was that?”

“Acting nice doesn’t get you places in this game.” Mark said, sniffling  a bit as he tilted his head to the side. Tendrils of blonde hair fell across his forehead and stuck to his skin, sweaty from the stress he was feeling in the moment yet he refused to show. It was unusual, per-say, for Mark to be acting this way in a competition of all sorts. It was even more unusual for him to make the first threatening move, but he was just going to have to work with it. “Nothing ever does.” Mark muttered the finishing part as he glanced away for a fraction of a second.

“Preferable? Possibly, but I like to stick in on the action for that.” Mark’s eyes seemed to flicker around the male before resuming their dagger-like glare. He had slowly overtime moved his arm back behind him, but as he was talking he slowly brought it back out to reveal a column of wispy smoke in it’s place.

“That? That is just a party trick my friend. This is where the real fun begins...” Smirking slightly, Mark watched the man’s face contort to that of confusion, before drawing his arm back and jabbing it in his direction with lightning speed. The smoke twisted into a spiral in mid-air before whipping out and, with the force of getting hit by a full garbage can, whipped into the male’s stomach, sending him flying back a couple of feet. Clearing his throat and drawing the smoke back to him, Mark began to take slow and almost threatening steps towards him, smoke curling down and around his leg.

“Like I said, just a party trick...”

Mark glanced up at the older for a second as he took the suitcase, throwing it onto the bed and unzipping it. Back slightly facing Jin Goo, he began to take his things out and sort them into the necessary shelves and such that lined his half of the room. A faint heat spread across his cheeks as Mark tried to think of an answer, enjoying the company yet not wanting to make it feel awkward.

“I mean, I do enjoy the company and such so I don’t mind if you stay! But only if you aren’t busy of course!” Mark quickly rushed the ending, not wanting to sound per-say “clingy”, in some context. Turning to give Jin Goo a smile, he thought of other ways to continue the conversation so it wouldn’t get boring.

“So how long have you been at the Nexus Institute for?” Mark asked, glancing back and forth at the man.

He crossed his arms and shrugged, “I don’t have any classes today, nor do I have anything planned. If you want, I can show you around.” 

Jin Goo tilted his head to the side, thinking. “I’ve been here for a little over two years.” It was funny how he had been there for a while yet had never really gone into a student’s room before. He never had a reason to before. “What classes are you taking?” he asked.

“If you don’t mind, that would be great!” Mark smiled cheerfully as he finally put the rest of his belongings away and slipped his suitcase under his bed. He would actually work on decorating the room a bit late,r but for now he was confident.

“Two yeas? Wow, you must’ve had your fair share of battles I think.” Mark chuckled softly before clearing his throat. “I think I'm going to be taking offensive classes and try to do combat practice, also focusing is a good thing for me.” He stretched his arms up as he spoke, dropping them down to his sides as he turned to Jin Goo once more. Honestly, he hadn't really thought about what to take during his time at the institute, but he at least picked things that were good for his powers and such.

“Thank you for offering to show me around, though. My roommate isn’t supposed to be here for a while so I would really have nothing to do.” He chuckled slightly, slightly surprised that he was getting along so well with Jin Goo. Normally, he wasn’t this comfortable with others, especially him being the introvert he is, but he found himself slowly growing to like Jin Goo more and more and become expectant as the day wore on.

Jin Goo watched, completely fascinated, as the other’s finger turned into a light grey trail of smoke, whipping outwards. He shot the other a look of slight admiration, “Now that’s a cool party trick.” 

He shrugged a little, “Control comes with time and hard work. Though I must admit, that would’ve been quite the shock to the other person. Going for a handshake and getting nothing but smoke.” He snickered quietly as he imagined it playing out. He leaned against the wall, just next to the door, looking around at the room. 

It was quite nice, modernized and bright. The students’ dorms were pretty nice, he thought, as he had never been in one before. The thought made him think a little. Why was he in Mark’s room? Sure the other had invited him in, but probably was just out of politeness. “Do you want me to leave you to unpack?” he offered Mark a way out in the case that the other wasn’t all that comfortable socializing with strangers.

Jin Goo didn’t take offense. Instead, he chuckled, “Good. You have some sort of common sense.” He stood by the door as Mark walked into his room. It was empty, the roommate not present. Having been invited inside, he took a few steps into the room, and closed the door. 

He was somewhat relieved that Mark didn’t seem as nervous as before, seeming not to mind the light teasing as much. “Enigma?” He had never heard the term before. “Dangerous as in poisonous?” he asked. He could turn into air… essentially? That was a pretty useful skill, especially in terms of stealth.

“Not poisonous, but more like I can attack people like,” Mark cleared his throat as he tried explaining. It was hard for him to explain to others but, hey, he made the effort right? Turning to Jin Goo Mark stuck his hand out to the side, wiggling his fingers a bit as a tingling feeling swept through them. Positioning his pointer finger as if to flick the air, he let it fly but instead a flash of grey wispy smoke whipped out, taking the place of his finger for a fraction of a second. ‘this.” He turned to look at Jin Goo once more, hoping he understood now more.

“I can also do a couple more other stuff that has to do with it, but this mainly is what it is.” He smiled wider, rocking back and forth on his heels slightly. Turning to look more at his new home, Mark slowly walked over to a lamp near a bed by the far side of the room that sat opposite to his roommates. He presumed that he could pick any bed to sleep in of the moment, that is until his roommate joined him and then they could work it out. Reaching over he flicked the switch on and slightly squinted as the warm golden glow overtook the room. Turning back to Jin Goo, he cleared his throat.

“It becomes a hassle occasionally. Like one time i tried shaking hands with someone and my entire arm turned into smoke.” He chuckled to himself at the memory, wincing slightly at the embarrassment he had felt back then. “Yea, not so great.”

He caught what the other said, despite being halfway out of the elevator already. Walking down the hall, he glanced around. Odd numbers on the left, even on the right. Alright. 

Mark caught up with him, and Jin Goo raised an eyebrow at the question. It was a question that made sense. After all, they were in an Institute for the ‘gifted’. He sort of assumed that the other knew what his ability was, considering he had been pointed out as a Nexus Force member. 

“Monster physiology,” he didn’t really bother explaining. “It’s a party trick I hope you don’t get to see.” Jin Goo’s lip curls into a small smile. “203,” he stepped to the side of the door, “It might not be all that homely, but you’ll get used to it eventually.” He waited for Mark to open the door, “So what’s your thing? Spider physiology?” That was the only explanation he would’ve had to the suit he saw earlier.

“Oh, hehe, I hope not!” Mark laughed nervously, rubbing the back of his neck slightly. Realizing that this comment might have come off as slightly rude, he cleared his throat and dropped his hands to his sides, a slight blush spreading over his cheeks. As the pair stopped at the door to his dorm, he reached forwards and inserted his key (which had been taken from his pocket) into the lock, twisting the handle and swinging it open. A warm blast of hot air and the smell of coffee wafted towards them and Mark immediately was reminded of home.

Jin Goo was right, it wasn’t absolutely crazy cool, but more or else modernized and just right for Mark. As he walked inside, the younger turned towards the nexus member and stepped aside, beckoning and inviting him into his living space.

“Spider physiology? Oh! I get it!” Mark chuckled slightly, now not feeling as embarrassed and seeming to take it as an actual joke in turn for his suit. “No, my power is Enigma physiology.” He smiled widely, but felt it faltering as he realized Jin Goo might not know what it was. Thinking, he tried to come up with a way to explain it in a sense that the older would understand.

“Umm, imagine big ball of smoke but dangerous. Oh, and also invisibility and stuff.” He tried thinking, deciding that going into every detail would be both tiring and boring to both of them.
