this post is going to be wildly unstructured (and also vastly lacking in any semblance of consistent grammar/punctuation usage) because i am just spitting thoughts off the top of my head BUT! since i want to emphasise the permanence of Nya's sacrifice in the high tide AU i was thinking about what would happen to her powers after merging. i think there are two ways in which this could go
Maya is still alive, so Nya's powers could return to her? i'm not sure where i could take this from a narrative perspective because i want maya's arc to focus more around her relationships with ray and kai, as well as misako (i love yo.u misako mwah)
the other more. obvious option would be that Benthomaar would inherit Nya's powers, most likely after encountering her merged form while in the endless sea. i think this could open up a lot of opportunities in terms of his relationship with Jay and the rest of the ninja ,, Bentho is staying at the monastery to support his friends and i'm wondering how that'd affect their dynamic ,, <:o
unrelated note . more people need to take advantage of the parallels between seabound and the entire emily alone album by florist . so much water/oceanic imagery . it is such an utterly devastating collection of songs and i am brought to tears every time i listen to it which does not help my evil ninjago brain at all
