Whenever we discuss Frankenstein as a class, itâs literally just a bunch of teenagers complaining about how awful Victor is because heâs actually the worst
This post still gets notes, even after this blog had been untouched in so long

Did you guys know that Edgar Allan Poe was 5-foot-8? Because thatâs how tall he apparently was
I thought he was 5'6 (max!!!)
I know I always thought he was Real Short but I was wrong

Guess who has her first S.O. competition of the season tomorrow!!

The prompt rn is âautumnâ and theres no date date when it should be done yet. There havenât been any submissions yet, but Iâm working on mine at the moment and honestly yâall should just,,,, check it out

YALL ANNOUNCMENT
My friend and I are starting a writing project! We want to get a bunch of writers together and have them each write something based around a small (probably one word) prompt, then put those short stories all together and share them (perhaps in book form ;))
Honestly we just think it'll be super fun and cool to see how people interpret the prompts differently. The stories should probably be between 1 and 10 pages if you care about the details
Anyway if y'all are interested please let me know because I think it'll be coolio
I might also make a sideblog for this but I don't know yet
(Also if you're interested you don't need any writing experience you just need to enjoy it)
This felt weird and professional but like I had to let y'all know what was happening
So I made a blog for this if anyone's interested, it's @velia-opher
This is your Halloween reminder that Frankenstein was not a doctor (he dropped out of college to make his monster) and the monster he created was actually pretty intelligent and learned very quickly. Also, to the best of my knowledge Mary Shelley never described how Frankenstein brought his monster to life so all the electricity stuff was just made up by the movies.
Also Frankenstein was a dick
Yesterday I went to a concert for our high school choir and they sang a song based on a poem by Poe and anyway I enjoyed the concert last night
My old Crime Busters coach had some leftover study materials for Forensics and he sent them to me today so now my partner and I have some pretty great materials and Iâm Hyped for this year
I fell behind on my Hamlet annotations so now Iâm gonna finish reading act 2 and then make all my notes!!
I got bored today
Pan and Persephone were obviously best friends who would hang out and braid flowers into each otherâs hair and talk about boys, and none of you can tell me otherwise
I went to this bookstore with a friend the other day and I got so much random literature. I also got some other books that Iâm excited to read, like Kermitâs autobiography, but I am so hyped to read these classics yâall
Great Expectations is such an adventure. Itâs such a good example of that late 1800s literature that Iâve mentioned before, with its batshit crazy adventures. Why is Pip stealing stuff for a criminal? Why was he invited over to the crazy, rich, old ladyâs house? What is the deal with Mrs. Joe? No one, not even Charles Dickens himself, has any answers for these questions. There may be some deeper meaning to these things, but in the surface they are all absolutely insane and I love it.
I love novels from the late 1800s because they always have the most surreal and crazy things happen to the kid protagonists. Might have them go on a year-long adventure by themself, might have them help an escaped criminal, might have them trick their whole town into helping them whitewash a fence, who knows? They arenât fantasy books, and these things could technically happen, but to me it seems really fucking unlikely. The situations these children end up in are just so out of the ordinary and absolutely insane and I find it hilarious
I love this little booklet it might be my new favorite thing
