The more I think about it the funnier it gets that Heiter and Eisen knew Himmel was in love with Frieren. They really had to watch as this boy pined after a girl who wouldn't understand romance even if Himmel stood there with a sign saying "I'm in love with you". They had to watch as he had a heart attack every time she unknowingly got too close or did something borderline flirty. The whole time they really had to resign themselves to knowing Himmel was committed to the long con and instead of confessing, he'd make Frieren fall for him after his death. Can you imagine the psychological pain they had to experience for those ten years watching the yearner of all time

Can we get a moment of silence for everyone who's ever created a piece of art that said "what if it DOESN'T end happily? What if good intentions aren't enough? What if everyone is sometimes flawed and thoughtless and petty and we all do harm without meaning to?"

Only for someone to be like "omg yessssss this is so powerful! anyway for the record people keep talking about the eventual kpop demon hunters sequel but honestly what i think the film could use most is a prequel. origins of the girl gang. buffy-style demon hunter training. the cliche "we start off with tons of friction and end knowing each other better than we know ourselves." explore the history and legacy of being hunters. celine interacting with her girls but also terrified that something will happen to rumi. info on rumi's parents and the third member of the sunlight sisters. the girls drop their first single and kill their first demons. and most importantly zoey and mira can get last names

Okay, might be stepping outside of my lane here, but while I do get that it's a joke, something not be taken seriously, and just comes vibes and energy and all that, there's a recurring characterization of Mira that's...getting a little concerning, so Imma just say this.

Guys, Mira doesn't hate men. Like, at all.

Again, I get it, she does have whole "How dare a man speak to me" aura to her, but in the actual movie, she's honestly most welcoming and supportive of Huntr/x's male fans.

Plus she has zero issues with Bobby (and who would?), and even though she pegged Dr. Han as a quack and didn't appreciate him trying getting into her personal space, she did appreciate his reads on Rumi.

So no, she doesn't hate men as a unified whole. No inherent issues with men at all.

She just hates these men.

And honestly, who can blame her?

We still don't know how new hunters come to be, if three specific girls are born with the power, if it's based on how good their singing is, etc. But I think that when Celine said "Every generation, a new trio of Hunters is chosen", she quite literally meant that the new hunters are chosen.

I think the hunters choose who their successors are going to be, and when they've decided, they transfer their powers to them.

If it was decided upon birth who the new trio would be, it could cause some issues. Like Zoey, what if a hunter lived in a different country and couldn't get to the other two? Or what if a hunter died before meeting the others? And if it was based on just singing skill alone, there's no guarantee that person won't be shallow or will have the ability to unite people.

I think the hunters get to choose someone they personally feel can fulfill their rolls. It explains how Celine knew Rumi was going to be a hunter, since Miyeong probably chose her as her successor. Plus, the movie says Celine "built HUNTR/X around Rumi", which could imply she had a choice on who the other hunters would be. She might have watched multiple trainees and eventually chosen Mira and Zoey because they had the qualities she was looking for, but also because they got along with Rumi. And even though the movie never mentions the third sunlight sister, it's possible the girls might have met her at some point and she agreed they were good fits.

It also fits into earlier concept art, where the first hunters became close with Jinu’s sister, and later his sister became a hunter herself.

So that's my theory, the hunters choose the next generation, and they look for someone who can sing, but also someone who is passionate, driven, and loves people enough to fight for them
