I am so, so, SO disappointed in the new Essie Gel Couture line of polishes. I tried a purple blue about 4 weeks ago, but chalked up the poor performance of the polish to my not-so-great application of the polish. I was in the throes of the Misters surgery recovery and it was probably bad timing. But I'm not sure what the excuse is here. I applied on Thursday evening. And now, by Sunday, it was already chipped one on nail, and it's starting to fall apart on two other nails. 14 days of gorgeous shiny color, my ass. I won't be buying any more of this stuff. I have way better success with regular Essie polish and seche vitea top coat (7+ days, usually).

A new fitness journey

I know, I know....another post about getting healthy. I'm sure I've posted 10+ posts just like this one. But I've got the genetics (and maybe even partially a mental thing) to be someone that is always needing to lose weight. And I've come to terms with that. As I've mentioned before, I put back on all of the weight (plus another 15ish lbs) I had lost from doing CrossFit. But ever since I first injured my back, I've been very hesitant to get back in to it. I've hit my breaking point and know I really need to get back in to something. I need to re-establish boundaries at work so that I can leave at a decent hour more consistently. So I'm working on a plan now, and I think I'll write about it here. It seems that I have the most success when I feel like I have to be accountable. I started cleaning up my diet about 2-3 weeks ago and am down 6 pounds. I will take some photos today, measurements and weight as well and log that in my never ending weight-loss tracking spreadsheet. I love being able to track progress. I have signed up for my first kickboxing class tomorrow, and from what I've read, I think I'll really like it. I need the structure of a class, but I like that you still kind of go at your own pace. I was viewing the gyms IG page and they show people of all shapes and sizes, which I really found to be a relief. The location is halfway between my office and my apartment, at a great train station for easy accessibility. I can't really find any cons at this point. I am feeling quite optimistic right now!! Stay tuned for more on this journey...

And by arguing, I mean laughing at each other. I say it like caw-lm. He says it like kahm. According to YouTube videos, he's right. I've been schooled by someone who's first language isn't even English. And he is now laughing at my "dirty American language". Haha I love our evenings together. Always laughing about something 😍
