To be a Local Witch
Throughout history and our legends, Witches and Wizards were the crazy men and women that lived on the outskirts of the village. Their craft was wild and strange to those that lived in the village, but, nonetheless, people would seek after their wisdom of the land, the plants, the local spirits, and for wisdom or guidance in their path. These men and women, often bachelors, would know the ins and outs of the region and often went walking alone.
Today, our villages are less rustic and more like local towns, and suburbs. But one can still be a Local Witch, and develop special connections with the land you call home.
Become a Local Witch:
Learn Local Lore Folktales, legends, and even tall tales develop the culture of a town or area. Learn these. Retell them over summer campfires, and over drinks with friends. People will start to LOVE your stories.
Start Frequenting locally owned shops and stores Develop connections and relationships with the owners and those that work there every day. Learn their names, and introduce yourself after visiting more often. Supporting locally owned shops helps small business owners and provides nourishment to your community. This is putting down roots, and develops your connection with the people that shape your town.
Find a Local Bookstore This is an extension of 1 and 2. Locally owned bookstores always have a Local Writers, Local Plants, and Local History sections. Ask inside where these sections are, and start devouring these books. Not only will you be supporting a local shop, but you have a direct source of helpful information. Oftentimes, employees and owners also know a lot of Lore. Talk to them about what you’re interested in learning. They probably have some hidden gems of information.
Learn about your Indigenous Plants Start researching and learning about the flora that grows locally, learn their lore, their uses, and magical or folklore associations. If Natives from your area used these plants, find out how. Learn where these plants grow and research local foraging. If you’ve never foraged, see if you can find a local group that can serve as helpful guides to stay safe. Never ingest anything unless you are SURE.
Start a local Plant Grimoire Keep dried presses of flowers and plants in it, draw and diagram to help you remember what they look like.
Learn about the indigenous animals Research their folklore and mythology. Start finding out what they eat, and what their habitats are. (Safely) Do your part to help foster their growth and health. This could be making insect houses to help local endangered pollinators, or leaving out special birdseed for endangered bird species in the area. (Safely) Start interacting with the non-aggressive species and leave them treats. This is great for birds, deer, rabbits, moles, chipmunks, hedgehogs, etc
Join local Conservation Projects Getting directly involved in wildlife conservation strengthens our spiritual and natural ties to the land we call our home. Taking personal responsibility and interest in it’s stewardship is honoring the spirits of the land, and the Gods.
Use Google Maps while exploring parks, or protected open spaces to drop pins and places where you find animal habitats or useful plants for foraging.
That’s all for now. More will come later I’m sure. Now go be the best local Witch or Druid you can be!
Bed magick (for my spoonie witches):
The setup: 🌟-Sigils placed under your mattress for pain-free rest and anything else you need! 🌟-Place crystals under your pillow (or in the case) for restful sleep or a specific use. I often place amethyst and Quartz under my pillow for headaches! 🌟-Hang herb sachets above your bed. 🌟-Keep any supplies you want nearby in case you become bedridden.
Bedridden witchy things: 🌸-Play with spare bits of energy in the room. 🌸-Listen to music that makes you feel witchy/powerful. 🌸-Wash your face with a pre-prepared cleansing spray (add herbs and such). 🌸-If possible, open a window for at least five minutes and soak in the sensations of the outside world. 🌸-Read a witchy book/write in your grimoire. 🌸-Hold your crystals or keep them near you. 🌸-Washing your sheets/blankets/pillow case = the ultimate cleanse. 🌸-Meditate and work on breathing. 🌸-Spend some time with your tarot cards or pendulum (you don’t have to use them though!). 🌸-Do some dream magick. 🌸-Drink some herbal tea.
Remember, your witchiness isn’t based on your ability to practice all the time. It’s perfectly acceptable to take as long as you need when you aren’t feeling great.
(This is okay for everyone to reblog and use btw.)
Numerology Life Path Numbers
1: Creativity and Confidence.
Creative energy, flowing in waves -
the nourishing sun, the flash of lightning.
Breathe it in; feel its force.
It can create, nourish, or destroy.
How do you channel creative energy in your life?
Is it blocked or flowing?
How does it manifest in positive ways?
How does it manifest in negative ways?
What would life be like if you confidently unleashed the creativity within you?
"Some people say they haven’t yet found themselves. But the self is not something one finds; it is something one creates.“
⁃ Thomas Szasz
2: Cooperation and Balance.
Imagine two hands, one open and offering,
the other clenched in a fist of resistance.
Which hand do you put forward most?
Do you hold out both hands in equal measure?
Do you allow yourself to receive as much as you give?
Do you overhelp, then resent it?
Where does your responsibility end and that of others begin?
Have you found balance in your life?
"Before we can make friends with anyone else, we must first make friends with ourselves."
⁃ Eleanor Roosevelt

Witchy Ways to Care for Yourself
Witchcraft does not, in any way, replace the medication, the therapy, or the doctors that you may need. Get proper care if you have any health problems!
Witchy things you can do to provide yourself with peace and spiritual care:
Cleanse and clean your space regularly.
Ground
Meditate
Sit down to reflect and think
Offer gratitude to any spirits, deities, elements, etc. that you work with.
Spend time in nature
Get some sleep to let yourself recharge and rest
Think positive thoughts as much as possible
Create a sigil that has a “healing” “self care” “positive thinking” meaning to scatter around you.
Create a positive chant to say to yourself when you need some positivity.
Create your own tea blend to calm and offer you comfort.
Get a plant that you connect with. Whenever you are feeling down care for it, whether you are watering it, fertilizing it, singing to it, or reciting poetry to it. Name it. Provide it with the happiness that you are lacking.
Provide yourself with a playlist or soundtrack to play when you need to calm down and unwind.
Create your own daily rituals to help keep you grounded.
Drink a cup of tea.
Send thanks and say good morning to the sun when you wake up and wish the moon goodnight before you fall asleep.
Garden
Carry rose quartz, citrine, and tigers eye with you to boost your self esteem and self confidence.
Take a moment to BREATH
Journal
Carry a crystal that you take favor to and feel familiar with.
Turn off all the electronics in your room. Lights, cellphone, laptop, ect. Light some candles and write in your grimoire or read a book.
Create a self care jar and add herbs and crystals with self-care type correspondences. Leave it somewhere that you can see it. Charge it with good intentions so whenever you look at it, it brings you a small bit of happiness.
Look up at the stars.
Talk to the moon.
Take a long bath and add lavender to calm yourself. Maybe light some candles as well.
Connect and spend time with your tarot deck, familiar, magick tools, etc.
Make something magickal whether you cook or craft it. But let it come from the heart.
Do some yoga.

I don’t recommend that stab the poppet directly through the front of the eyes - this doesn’t fit with the spell’s mechanism of action. It is best to slide the needle in the back so that it pokes out of the eye in the front, for reasons that may be rather obvious. Be careful using St. John’s Wort if you are taking psychiatric medication, though this shouldn’t be much of an issue if you’re not consuming it (and in this spell, you aren’t). Still, if you want to explore this herb, use caution.
Happy Christmas 😄

So scientists have found gravitational waves, and I’d like to take the opportunity to talk to you guys about how I feel this impacts magic.
Magic is real. It is the manipulation of energies in the world. It is us these tiny, cosmic blips reaching out in the fabric of existence and imposing our will. It is atoms restructuring atoms, energy changing the flow and movement of energy. We are told so often that magic isn’t real, that these forces can’t exist, and yet we are just now finding solid proof of things that were as yet unproven.
We knew gravity was real. Obviously we haven’t flown off the planet and into the far reaches of space. SOMETHING was doing it. It was known. We weren’t solid on the actual workings though. Now we know. Now we can see it. Now its tangible to people.
In “olden times” healers used herbs and it was magic. And then we learned about chemical compounds and somehow decided that made it less magical. We discovered the placebo effect and decided that was less magical too, despite proving how much control we have over our own bodies. Most horrifyingly of all, we discovered celestial songs and decided it was a neat factoid and not a stunning truth of reality that stars and plants sing in the first place! Its not magic its science. Because now we have an explanation.
Bullshit.
These things are magic. Today we have learned that there are waves we have never seen, that the effect of celestial bodies spiraling through the void is tangible. Stars and planets sing and give off waves that touch and effect other things. And that is magical. We tiny creatures with blood made of star dust, we are a part of this! And science has no measure yet, but perhaps one day it will. For now though, we deal with what we know, what we experience, but which cannot yet be quantified: We are magical.
Science and magic do not have to be in opposition. Just like science and religion. Science is just another way of observing and measuring the world around us. Often the science of magic is dismissed because a few people with shoddy scientific methods have tainted it.
Anyway. I thought this was well-said.
Spell Timing - Weather
⛈Lightning Storms - power, manifestation, cursing, protection 🌧Rainstorms - purification, cleansing, healing, compassion, release ❄Snowstorms - balance, stillness, purification, transformation, letting go 🌀Heavy Wind - travel, study, intellect, breaking bad habits ☀Searing Hot Days - courage, protection, strength, energy 🌠Meteor Showers - power, magickal boost, wishes 🌘Solar & Lunar Eclipses - banishing, destruction
