ELSPETH / The Obernewtyn Chronicles drawing time lapse
Stunning.
Isobelle Carmody herself! She was nice enough to offer to take a photo with me! Love her! :)
Everything I read in 2016: The Obernewytn Chronicles by Isobelle Carmody
“Change-bringer, Dell had called me. Catalyst, Merret had named me. Seeker to the Agyllians. Not one of these names I had chosen for myself, and I had a sudden sympathy with Dell’s desire to choose her own path, rather than being defined by what she could do.”
Bolinda audio will be releasing book one in the Obernewtyn Chronicles on 1st of May, and have given Obernewtyn.net five copies to give away in a competition to celebrate!
Obernewtyn, first book in the Obernewtyn Chronicles, is being released as an audiobook on May 1st - if you’d like a chance at winning one of five copies, head over and enter the competition - all you need to do is tell us what you’re most looking forward to hearing in the audiobook!
The Red Queen Launch is taking place on Saturday, 12th December 2015, at The Meat Market in North Melbourne. It will consist of two events, a family-friendly afternoon event (High Tea with The Red Queen), and a spectacular night-time event (The Masked Ball).
If you were a pre-registrant on the Obernewtyn.net list, you can head over and buy your ticket now! If you’d like to attend but didn’t put yourself on the pre-registration list, make sure you fill out the Launch waitlist form.
There’s a Japanese edition of Obernewtyn, complete with amazing illustrations! Here’s a gallery of the pictures.
searching “Urgent Lemons” just to see what I found. google mostly returned cheesecake recipes.
I hear they’re extremely urgent: http://www.zazzle.com/urgent_lemons_by_vauny_tee_shirt-235627094416602027
For UK Obernewtyn fans (of which there seem to be tragically few), if you haven’t got ‘The Sending’, you can buy it on Fishpond.com which I am ridiculously excited about because I had basically given up on ever finding out what happens next. And you can pre-order the e-book of 'The Red Queen’ to be released in November.
That Masked Ball that you've probably heard about that Isobelle Carmody will be putting together to launch The Red Queen and send off the Obernewtyn Chronicles? Yeah, it's happening!
Have you put your name down for the ball? We need to finalise the list by 31st August (tomorrow!). This list isn’t a commitment to buy a ticket, it’s confirming your interest and putting together numbers (of guests, and books required) for Isobelle.
The smiles of an author (Isobelle Carmody), delivering her finished final pages of The Red Queen to her publisher (Laura Harris).
The end of the 28 year epic Obernewtyn saga is REALLY HAPPENING.
That Masked Ball that you've probably heard about that Isobelle Carmody will be putting together to launch The Red Queen and send off the Obernewtyn Chronicles? Yeah, it's happening!
Will you be in Melbourne on 12th December for the Masked Ball to celebrate Isobelle Carmody’s achievement and send off the Obernewtyn Chronicles?
Sketch 74: Ashling
I’ve been re-reading my favourite ever book series The Obernewtyn Chronicles by Australian author Isobelle Carmody in preparation for the launch of the final instalment ‘The Red Queen’ this year. Combined with the fact that I recently got my best friend to start reading them and I’ve been thinking about Obernewtyn stuff a lot lately. Here is a quick sketch of Elspeth and a scraggly Maruman!
You know what this means!!!
Little Fur is honestly so lush (drawing from the second book).
Books 4-8 of the year.
They’re part of a series by the same name as the first book.
It’s a post-apocalyptic setting with a Chosen One whose job it is to keep the world from entering a second apocalypse.
The first book in particular is very YA-y, but they’re gradually getting more complicated. My onnnnne critique is that (at least so far) the villains seem to too evil inso that they’re not always believable as people. The overarching story arch is very satisfying and I love love love the backstories.
