Feminism is a movement that promotes equity for the rights and treatment of women Different types of feminism: White feminism: A branch of feminism that has little to no benefits for POC TERF: Stands for Trans exclusionary feminism. It's a branch of feminism that does not support trans men or pre-op trans women Intersectional feminism: A type of feminism that focuses on creating equality for not just women but people of all genders regardless of race, sex, age, gender expression, sexuality, income, and physical and mental ability. (There are also other forms of feminism, however these are the most mentioned)

Hello friends!

Things have been interesting the last few days, but overall everything is good. I have so many exams and papers and projects coming up, I don’t even know how I’m going to have time for it all. 

Trying to stay grounded, and remember that no matter what as long as I’m putting my best effort in and working as hard as I can, I will succeed the way that I am meant to succeed. I don’t have to be perfect. I can get a B, I can spend an afternoon laughing with my friends and roommates instead of studying, I can sleep in on Saturdays and drink lattes in my comfy sweaters and listen to Taylor Swift. I can slow down, I can breathe. 

People try to tell college students to always work harder, always do more, always be thinking about the future. But for me, that can be harmful. I’m a perfectionist. I have anxiety. I’m already too future-focused, too goal-oriented. I need someone to tell me to relax, to smile, to enjoy being alive.

If you need someone to remind you that you can slow down, let me be that person. I know what it’s like to hear every single day “Work harder, do more, be successful”. Just remember that those words are not always meant for us. Maybe working harder, doing more, and being successful applies to our inner serenity and peace, too. 

I’m going to start working harder at accepting myself, and allowing myself to breathe. I’m going to start working harder at cutting myself some slack. Because really, all we’re meant to do is live and I don’t want to waste my life pushing myself so hard for a future that hasn’t even happened yet.

-If something is unsafe, don’t fucking do it. -Don’t let anyone take away your sanity. -Don’t let anyone take advantage of you. -If you’re single and happy, that is okay. -If you’re in a relationship and happy, good for you. -If you’re polyamarous, that is okay. -Anything that makes you happy is not wrong.

-Always remember to laugh and smile. -Loving yourself is okay. -Did you take your pills today? DO IT! -Did you eat? DO IT! -Need sleep? SLEEP! -Need to take time for yourself? That is fine. -Do not put ANYTHING before your well-being
