i think being proud of where you come from is one of those things that becomes fun the more specific you get. like "proud to be english" bad rancid vibes. makes you sound like the kind of person who rants about immigrants. "proud to be from yorkshire" better vibes. i cannot deny the yorkshire cultural heritage. "proud to be from pocklington" absolutely fucking hilarious please never let anybody kill your pocklington pride.
i love the USA: weird vibes. dont trust that.
i love muskegon michigan: you are experiencing a kind of personal joy that i can and will not take from you
I remember being in the car with my papa and I heard an ad on the radio that was like:
“Martha’s job is to watch a bunch of immature children constantly screaming at each other.
“So when she comes home, she likes to relax by turning on the tv and watch a bunch of immature adult women constantly screaming at each other.
“The difference is that the adults are not Martha’s problem.”
Which is actually a pretty accurate example of why it’s normal and ok to enjoy something in fiction that may be problematic or unrealistic irl.
People like skydiving, roller coasters, and waterslides.
Which are basically "what if falling to your death wasn't actually a problem" and therefore fun.
Fictionalizing (and therefore, deprobleming) problems is quite common across a lot of activities.
When I'm done with my monkeys, I enjoy going to the circus.
i must say, i am a huge fan of when a book is in the middle of a very exciting plot containing many interesting problems when out of nowhere for a few pages it's like, "hey by the way, real quick, here's a detailed explanation of the city's water filtration system! i'm telling you this for a reason and you should worry about it. anyway! haha okay back to the plot" and you just get to be Scared for a while
i am kissing you on the mouth right now
you are the only person who understands me. you and the person who tagged a series of unfortunate events
“Larper” being used like “poser” is so annoying bc actual LARPers are cool as hell. Get me some armour and a fake sword too
(480): Well you were listening to music and having sex really loudly. How was I supposed to know you’d hear me making rocket sounds?
(540): Oh dear. Sending much love.
(1-540): Just send a machete.
(403): I AM A GOOD PERSON AND THEREFORE I DESERVE QUALITY DICK!
(708): On a scale of 1-10 I’m at biblical violence
(918): You screamed “pound me, you big thick stud.” I looked around for porn cameras.
(1-918): Shut up. I did not.
(918): I really wish I was making that up.
(570): I think you might be the first man ever to describe getting a blowjob as “neat”
(312): Normally roommates threatening each other with knives would be too much crazy for me, but I don’t have much going on right now and I feel like this could get interesting. So I think I’m gonna ride this shit out for a while.
(609): It began the way the best stories do — with some naïve jackasses in a place they had no business being at.
(513): you flashed my boyfriend last night so i tackled you to the floor. you may be a bit sore.
(641): I’m going to ride your dick until it falls off. That horny.
(319): I’m equal parts terrified and turned on. Come over.
(256): Good news my life of crime finally paid off
(608): I’m torn between regretting everything and regretting nothing.
