I took my little brother (autistic, mostly non verbal) out and he was using his voice keyboard to tell me something, and this little boy (maybe 4 or 5?) heard him and asked me "Is he a robot??" I tried to explain to him that no, he isn't a robot, he just communicates differently, but my darling brother was in the background max volume "I am robot I am robot I am robot I am robot"

My little brother insisted if I was going to post about him, he wanted a cut of the "profits". When I explained to him that Tumblr isn't monetized, and is pretty pointless, he and my older brother pointed out that he'd still be bringing me "fame and notoriety" if the post got "big". So we agreed, if the post hit 10k notes, which seemed extremely farfetched and silly at the time, I'd take my little brother out for sushi (his favorite food) and let him eat as much as he wants.

I guess God wanted the little robot to enjoy some sushi 🍣 🥲

I don’t think people truly understand the scope of the damage Sony is about to do to physical media. They literally invented the compact disc. They are the reason why Blu-ray as a format won the HD wars over HD-DVD. They have gargantuan influence over manufacturing disc-based media. If Sony as a company stops making physical media for their next gen gaming consoles, this is going to affect movies and music as well. If you buy CDs, DVDs, or Blu-rays, those are next on the chopping block.

I do want to point out that about 10 years ago, there was one manufacturer still pressing vinyl records left in the U.S. But since the resurgence of this format, multiple pressing facilities have opened, or reopened, and now vinyl is the most common form of physical music on the market. CDs and cassettes are also making a comeback.

Sony claims it’s using sales trends as a reason to phase out physical games. Corporations do actually care about making money. They follow these trends. I’m not saying panic buy all the physical media right now, but when it comes to owning things you can hold in your hand, you have to actually buy them.

I wish people recognized the difference in analysis when saying „a character decided to do X“ and saying „a character was written to do X“

Because as much as we forget it, fictional characters aren’t real so analyzing characters on a character level (they decided) only makes sense if you WANT to divorce the narrative from overarching themes and more so want to look at „why would a real person act like this in the given situation“.

It does NOT make sense to say „character decided bad thing so that’s why“ when people literally were criticizing how a characters actions don’t align with overarching themes and/or any previous established character writing

also sometimes both don’t work because while real people are of course more inconsistent than any fictional character, you’d still wouldn’t just shrug your shoulders and go „oh well“ when the grandma you’ve known to be kind all your life suddenly starts kicking kittens like footballs. You’d probably go „what the fuck happened to grandma?“

Anyway I’m just rambling. This is about something specific in my mind but can really be applied to anything
