The kiss is quick at first almost hesitant but when you pull back, he just… pauses. Like his brain needs a second to catch up. Then he lets out this quiet, breathy laugh, shaking his head a little.
“Wait… that actually just happened.”
His ears are slightly red, but he’s smiling in that soft, genuine way. He leans his forehead against yours without even thinking about it, eyes half-lidded.
“…I think I’ve wanted to do that for a while.”
And he doesn’t move away if anything, he stays closer, like he’s not ready to let the moment go yet.
He goes still the second it ends, blinking slowly like he’s replaying it in his head. His lips part like he’s about to say something, but nothing comes out at first.
“…I’ve been thinking about that,” he finally admits, voice quieter than usual.
The realization hits him right after, and he gets flustered looking away, rubbing the back of his neck.
“I didn’t think you’d actually”
He cuts himself off, laughing nervously. But even as he avoids eye contact, he doesn’t step back. His shoulder stays pressed against yours, like that says everything he can’t.
There’s barely a second of silence before he breaks into a grin.
“Okay… yeah, I’m definitely doing that again.”
He says it like it’s the most obvious thing in the world, eyes bright and a little mischievous.
“You looked so nervous, you know that?” he teases, nudging you lightly.
But then his tone softens just a bit, gaze lingering.
He doesn’t overthink it he just stays close, comfortable, like this is exactly where he wants to be.
When you pull away, he doesn’t say anything right away. He just looks at you really looks at you like he’s trying to memorize the moment.
“…that was nice,” he says softly, almost like he’s afraid to break the quiet.
His hand finds yours naturally, fingers threading together as he gives it a small squeeze.
There’s a calmness to him, something warm and steady.
“If you’re okay with it… I’d like to do that again.”
It’s simple, but the way he says it makes it feel important.
The second it’s over, he covers his face with both hands.
“Wait hold on give me a second,” he mumbles, clearly overwhelmed.
You can see the tips of his ears turning red as he laughs quietly behind his hands.
“I wasn’t ready for that…”
But when he finally lowers them, he’s smiling soft, a little shy, but really happy.
“…not that I didn’t like it,” he adds quickly.
He stays close, just not quite ready to look at you for too long yet.
He goes still for a moment after, eyes lingering on yours like he’s quietly taking it in.
“…you surprised me,” he says, voice soft but steady.
There’s a small smile that slowly forms as he shifts a little closer, his hand finding yours without hesitation. His thumb brushes over your fingers absentmindedly.
“I was wondering when that would happen,” he admits, a little quieter this time.
He gives your hand a gentle squeeze, not pulling away just staying there, calm and close, like he’s exactly where he wants to be.
He pulls back and immediately lets out a nervous laugh.
“Why am I suddenly aware of everything?”
He runs a hand through his hair, pacing a half step before coming right back.
“That wasokay, wait, hold on”
He’s talking fast now, a little chaotic, but there’s a smile he can’t hide.
“…that was really nice,” he admits, quieter this time.
Even while he rambles, his eyes keep flicking back to your lips, like he’s debating going in again.
He just… pauses. Completely still.
It’s quiet, almost stunned, but not in a bad way more like he’s caught off guard by how much he liked it.
Then a slow smile spreads across his face, soft and a little dazed.
He doesn’t say much more, but the way he looks at you changes, warmer, more certain.
And when he steps a little closer again, it feels intentional.
He raises an eyebrow the second you pull away, a small smirk forming.
“Was that your plan all along?”
His tone is teasing, but there’s a subtle shift his voice is a little lower, a little softer than usual.
He leans in just slightly, not enough to kiss you again, but enough to close the distance.
“…not that I’m complaining.”
For once, he doesn’t joke his way out of the moment. He just stays there, close, like he wants to see what you’ll do next.
He lights up immediately after, eyes wide.
He’s half excited, half nervous, words coming out a little too fast.
“I mean..I liked it…but I didn’t want to just..”
He stops himself, laughing, clearly overthinking now.
But he’s smiling so brightly it’s impossible to miss how happy he is.
He’s practically bouncing with energy, but there’s something really genuine underneath it.
