here's my submission for @ocmonthly for september! the theme is tails, so i had to submit my main wol from FFXIV! his name is leo and he's cool and i like him.

Pretend it's still August and I can still post to OC Monthly's Magic theme OK This is Alraune the Bloodrose, self-taught sorceress and cult escapee! She was born into a demon-worshipping cult in the northlands. However, she had the ability to see magic, and found the sight of demonic magic to be unpleasant, so when she learned that there were places down south where people didn't worship demons, she decided to head down there. (There's some more dramatic backstory stuff that I don't feel like getting into lol) She still holds the basic beliefs she was raised with, so every time she "sins" (mostly via killing demon worshipers and/or demons as part of her current job) she cuts herself and bleeds on the earth to "nourish the Lords of Might." She has trouble sleeping alone, which has led to many strange situations on her journey south. One was a blacksmith who she took up with for a while, who developed a crush on her and made the fancy armor to impress her keep her safe. They correspond regularly, and he sends her tavern puzzles. I miss RPing her a lot.

This month's @ocmonthly is magic ! I surprisingly struggled with this one, turns out I don't have many characters with magic powers ? Or the ones floating in my brain don't really have a design yet.

Anyway here's this little mage (she/they), she's more of a concept than a fleshed out character at this point, but they're very fun to draw and very cute so.

Also woo traditional art for once ! i t's too goddamn hot to draw on the computer these days

It's Xarann again for @ocmonthly prompt for August: Magic!

I shared Xarann before, but this time I'll talk about his relationship to his magic. He's a DND character originally and started as a wizard, before moving into warlock. Xarann learned magic from a very young age, whether he wanted to or not. He actually got up to a reasonable high level, before dying and being ressurected reset him back to square one - something he wasn't sad for since he didn't like who he was, or what his magic was for, before that.

His magic is largely used for being showy now, and his warlock spells give him access to protective and healing magic. He still has a few destructive spells - but he'll NEVER learn fireball again.

For the theme magic of the Oc month by @ocmonthly

His name is Hori and he belongs to the YST/RW universe. He uses magic related to sand and to bring souls to the afterlife to have peace or reincarnate. The god Anpu (or Anubis) gave him these powers and this task together with the curse of immortality, since Hori was a tomb robber who killed several innocents. He has a group of wolves to help him and he loves Egyptian sweets and karkade.

Oc Monthly's theme this month is yellow. And what comes to mind with that prompt is one of my original world/species from the world I've titled "the Material Plane"

In a nutshell, the world itself is made from the denizens of this place, either from craft items or objects that had washed up from other worlds from the Glitter sea.

The denizens themselves are made of odd materials. A nail polish anthro rabbit, a lipstick vampire bat. That kind of thing. All beings here also have a vessel (nail polish bottle, a piggy bank, things like that) to rest and keep safe. So onto the particular character themselves.

Sugar: Sugar is a bear made of honey.  She's on the large side.  As her name suggests her personality is on the super sweet side.

Her vessel is a hand made thing made out of clay. It's been lovingly shaped into a bee hive and little white flowers painted onto it.

Sugar doesn't exactly have a job. She's more of a traveler who will pick up small jobs during said travels.

One may never know when they will see her walking down the road, her giant, blue, backpack where she keeps her vessel and things to trade.

It's Cannon Time!!!

i know it's a bit late but, i decided to get a little tropical for @ocmonthly 's july theme of "yellow"!

In my Sunday campaign we were transported to another world in the past (which is decidedly futuristic for us lol), and went clothes shopping to fit in. I took a moment to draw my ratfolk Marina in hers.

Actually, speaking of Marina. I was torn which of my own characters to submit for this month's theme on @ocmonthly (which is yellow, btw!), but I think it has to be her. During our last session we learned from a person who lives outside of time and space, that every version of Marina she has met has said her favourite colour is yellow. It's a universal constant!

Marina is a rat (actually a doppleganger) who works at a university as a resident temple searching, artifact finding archaeologist. Her benefactor is a gold dragon who really wants to marry off his (rather dopey) son to Marina.

Lately!! We've been lost in time in another universe - but Marina is pretty chipper and upbeat despite that (and the upcoming death game we are being forced to participate in).

this is Basil, with the potential surname of Ashbore.

he's the opposite of Makia in a lot of ways. he's great with people, at least on the surface. but underneath that friendly facade is a sharp tongue, waiting to strike an "acceptable" victim.

like Makia, whose abrasive attitude makes it seem deserved.

on another note, he almost always calls Makia "Mothman." he's fully aware that Makia despises nicknames, especially that one.

he's not as good with Pokemon, but he's alright. he likes ones that can fly (not necessarily Flying type!) or that come from the past. his favorite members of his team are Aerodactyl and Crobat, much to Makia's chagrin (though for different reasons; Aerodactyl because it should be on someone more deserving's team and Crobat because Makia hates the Zubat line)

while Makia prefers to play the cornered rat in fights, Basil wants every advantage he can get - fair or otherwise.

this is actually a slightly progressed version of his design; his first jacket has the same pattern, but isn't longer on one side.

the belt is very Kamen Rider inspired. and it does stuff! I changed the design after this art, though.

Lily is majoring in biology so that she can get into med school after she graduates. She works part time at a bakery to help pays the bills since she was cut off from her family.

Scraping by at the last minute but this @ocmonthly 's theme is short hair ! i don't have all that many ocs with short hair (because long hair is so much fun to draw), but I do have this little fella here, Owlen. Skittish, anxious, and a bit cowardly (until you push him to far), Owlen can be be a bit of a handful. He got slightly better after meeting his best friend (pictured here with the pink shirt), Trèfle, who wa very clear about what kind of shit she was willing to put up with or not.

The two care for each other very much, even though they're both too emotionally constipated to say it openly. They still have a lot to learn, like taking better care of themselves, or not working for people who will fuck them over :D

Also ! They star in this little game I made which is available in English wink wink ;)

So it's come to my attention that sending links through asks hasn't been working on this blog. (It certainly worked before.) I haven't had time to dig into -why-, so for now, please submit through submissions or @ the account on your post.

If anyone has any insight into why this might be happening let me know! Otherwise when I do have time for research I'll look into it.

Another short-haired OC for OC Monthly!

This is Honey Gillespie, relentlessly upbeat and enthusiastically evangelical paladin. She is here to spread the Good News of Archanon and Champion the Weak and is living her best life.

She was assigned to help out in the demon-worshipping northlands, partly because she is extremely qualified but probably also because she is a bit much to deal with when she's around. She is neither subtle or stealthy, though she at least has the presence of mind not to Leeroy Jenkins things for her comrades-- she just is extremely effective at drawing aggro and being a huge distraction.

The scars go all the way down because she has always been one to go wading into danger to help those who need it, which is not really a great strategy if you want your flesh to remain intact.
