As my main income, I work with fish in a specialty pet store that's privately owned (so I'm allowed to say no and be stern to customers when it's needed).

You learn really quickly that not only do fish have individual personalities and emotions but they also have memories and recognize people! There are certain fish who will only come out for me and hide for everyone else. The pufferfish spits at me because she gets pissy that I haven't fed her. The flowerhorn bites everyone but me and my coworker when we clean his tank. I trained a fire eel to come up and eat directly out of my hand.

Fish are beautiful complex creatures and I thank the universe everyday that I get to work in a place where I'm encouraged to tell animal abusers to fuck right off.

i hadn't really like. Truly thought too hard about that author's spider-fucking book so i wasn't putting individual pieces together but thanks to things people have reminded me of on that last post in this book i've realized we've got:

dark-skinned spider centaur love interest who's part of a cannibalistic incestuous spider race where the females are larger bc haha big hot abusive women

which means we've got a bunch of dark-skinned women who are incestuous sexual abusers of the males of their species

white protagonist love interest who is based off griffith from berserk looks-wise but i have also been told that character is like. a serial rapist. so maybe not the best choice

white protagonist leads dark-skinned love interest around with a rope noose around his neck

author makes 'jokes' about the dark-skinned love interest with a specifically "proud curved nose" being objectified

the sexual dynamic between the two MCs is supposed to be the dark-skinned love interest finally getting to be the rough dominant top to the pretty boy white twink protagonist

white twink protagonist is also a genocidal colonizer which i guess is supposed to be funny

I'm at my parents' because the heatwave is so bad it made me forget why I avoid seeing them for more than one day at a time and it's bad. Yesterday I was in a bad mood for a variety of reason and the latent annoyance made me forget myself and I had the audacity to a) express displeasure about the doomerist way my dad talks about politics and b) ask my mom to please stop talking about the heatwave because it was making me extremely anxious. My mom then asked me what was wrong with me because I was being so mean to them a so I had to apologise because there will be no conflict in this house and I have to be a good girl boy and be nice and happy always.

I'm trying to pretend I'm a conman worming my way into a rich couple's heart so I can get a new place to live in order to not blow up with rage. And honestly it doesn't feel that far off from how the situation really is. Gotta love being disabled and forced to rely on my shitty parents for survival 👌

(And dgmw I'm still insanely privileged, there are people in similar situation with worse parents, worse financial situation or both. But still. Feels so fucking gross)
