Funeral for my grandma is tomorrow and I feels fucking surreal because when my grandpa died we were all sobbing together and stuff but this time my family is kinda. Acting like no one died? anyway to any young transmascs reading this: it is absolutely possible for you to pass. not everyone passes, that is true, but a significant number of us do.

i am almost completely stealth and living in a conservative town in Florida (not by choice lol). i can guarantee you that no one is just humoring me when they refer to me as a man and yet i can count on one hand the number of times I've been misgendered in public since my voice dropped.

since i'm on the silksong brain, the "lace is an adult" gang completely misunderstand the textual reality that while lace was created for a specific purpose and she's carrying the burden of expectation, she has *also* been entirely neglected by mother silk. she is a child whose emotional needs have been entirely unmet since the moment she was spun. she's not a grown woman trying to break free from her shackles: she's a child desperately trying to get her mother's attention and, since that's not available, get any petty revenge she can get her hands on even if it means killing herself and the world for it.

all of that is a direct foil to hornet's own upbringing. hornet, like lace, was made for a purpose... a purpose that herrah immediately absolves her of. herrah, vespa, the white lady, they put their hope onto hornet, that she'll be strong, that she'll be free, that she will grow past the mistakes of her makers, vs. grand mother silk's conditions, that a daughter be perfect and obedient and most importantly never rise above her station.
