Expect romance, adventure, sci-fi and fantasy, horror, and anything else under the sun (Reblogs and comments appreciated!). If you just want to chat about writing and non-writing things, messaging me is fine!
Always been active off and on, but I want to get to more people since the vast majority of my followers have been inactive
Name’s Nick, and whatever nickname you can come up, and I deal in flash fiction, short stories, poetry, writing prompts, and discussion prompts!
You’ll enjoy my blog if you like sci-fi, fantasy, sci-fantasy themes, a good chunk of romance (M/F mostly, but I’ve done others), action/adventure, horror, and some satire and realistic fiction
Current WIPs:
Starlight Journey: Sci fantasy epic with empowered people fighting invaders from another dimension, self discovery, and connection with unlikely people.
The Band: 5 amateur rockers get trapped in a strange new world and must escape while being transformed as monsters. Hilarity ensues.
I post lots of stories with their own universes, particularly Haven and Reina (a sci-fantasy pair going on adventures) and the Band (a comical rock band full of dysfunctional but talented folks)
You can look through anything of my own through #my writing or (more reliably) #njm
I’m not very talkative, but I’m always open for friendly and professional talks, and I’m down for asks, messages, and tag games if we have enough rapport
Enjoy your stay and prepare for weirdness!

My name is Megan, I'm 27 years old and for starters, I’m a premature baby. I was born prematurely at 26 weeks gestation. I have special needs, bilateral hearing loss, learning disabilities and anxiety.
I also struggle with social anxiety, which can be overwhelming sometimes. And because of that, I've had moments where I felt lonely. I still do. But I’m trying my best to manage, all things considered, and I hope there might be a step in the right direction someday.
Please bear with me while I navigate things at this time and if anyone would like to reach out to chat or ask questions, you’re welcome to do so.
If anyone would like to talk OCs, please do. And I look forward to meeting you all! :)

📖 Policies:
Adult Policy
I do occasionally post adult material on this blog. It will always be hidden beneath a read more line. I ask that if you are a minor, please do not follow me.
Anti or Pro-Ship Policies
I believe that fiction is not reality and I support the right of creators to explore dark and light themes in their work. Should I have any dark themes in my writing, I will always mention them in a trigger warning.
I do not use labels such as "proshipper," because I find them reductive and often used to silence nuanced conversation. I value artistic freedom, responsible storytelling and respectful discourse.
Please know that it is never my intention to make anyone uncomfortable or upset. I am truly sorry if I do.
Ask Policy
As of now, I do not allow anons, but that could change in time. If I recieve hate mail, I will block the account without further engagement.
Real Person Fiction Policy
I do sometimes explore RPF as an alternative future for some of my OCs, but I would like to clarify that it is not real.
💌 OTP / OCxCanon & OCxOC Information:
I support multiple pairings in writing, so I'm happy to explore and appreciate various dynamics without being attached to just one.
I don't participate in ship wars or look down on other shippers, because I believe there is room for all interpretations and connections.
Got recommended a gig by Pepper Stories for a freelance romance writer. 10 chapters a week for $300-600, spicy and fast paced, and prefers werewolves. On the fence but I'm not totally against it. Thoughts?
Trying to get into writing more again, and I have story ideas, but I'm curious what you all as readers would like just in general. I'm going for different types of romance and characters, speculative fiction for imagination, and some Write What You Know as baselines across wips.
One liked wanting mystery so I keep that in mind especially in a smaller setting. Themes, plots, tones, concepts that might not be popular but feel needed especially in these trying times.
going to be putting effort back into filling my queue and being more present on here instead of just passively lurking, so I'm looking for more writeblrs to follow!
I primarily read sci-fi and fantasy, adult over YA but I will peek at YA if the premise is interesting enough, so writeblr with those types of wips pls hit me up!
As always, I will only check out blogs that reblog/comment on this post. I will not be looking at the likes.
i love love love ask games. if you regularly post/reblog ask games, that is a huge plus
how you interact with writing is important to me - i.e. if you regularly post writing memes about hating writing, etc i'm not likely to follow you. those jokes can be funny, in moderation, but they also have made a hugely negative impact on my writing before and I am steering clear of that type of content now
otherwise, go nuts! Tell me about yourself and your WIPs!
I run all kinds of writing events every month, including a regular ask game (this month's prompts went up on Monday)! More details on all the events in my navigation post. I usually try to keep things very positive and I love finding new ways to interact with the community.
In my own writing world right now, I am working on a new adult contemporary fantasy series called Paragon. I'm currently in first drafting stages for Book 1, Fire in My Veins. Details are constantly changing, but I'm really happy with how things are developing right now! I feel like I am really digging in and remembering my strengths and how to use them effectively. I will talk about it a lot on this blog, with updates on progress and participating in ask and tag games with this series and the characters!
For a brief description of the idea: it's set in a version of the world where half the population has the power to control an element of nature. It focuses on our seven main characters - one for each element they can control - finding identity and belonging in a world that sees them as a dangerous "other."
@flashfictionfridayofficial "Wolf In Sheep's Clothing"
Summary: How to raise a wolf pup.
Warnings: allusions to racism and discrimination
WC: 547
"Mamaaaaaaa, I don't wanna wear this suit! It's itchy," the wolf pup whined.
"I know, baby. I know. It'll only be for a little while," Wolf Mother said as she straightened the wool suit on her pup.
"We all gotta wear one, cub." Wolf Father patted his pup's head, "Now, come on, we don't wanna be late. And the sooner we get there, the sooner we can get back here and take these itchy clothes off."
"There's a treat in it for you to be on your best behavior, baby," Wolf Mother said before licking her paw and smoothing down her pup's fur
The wolf pup's eyes grew wide, "Treat?"
"Is there a treat in it for me too?" asked Wolf Father with a slight wag in his tail.
"Tsk. Behave. Both of you then maybe you'll find out what it is."
"Mama, I ain't wearing the suit."
"Yes, you are."
"No, I'm not."
"Yes, you are."
"No, I'm not."
"Yes. You. Are," Wolf Mother carefully dragged out each word as she took three steps closer and shoved the wool suit into her growing pup's paws.
"Listen to your mama," Wolf Father too late piped up in a drawl.
"But it's so itchy and stiff!"
"So are ours, baby."
"Nobody else has to wear one, why do we?"
The Wolf Mother and Wolf Father looked over their pup's head, locking eyes. An understanding passed in silence. Both leaned down to their pup's level.
"Baby... if you haven't noticed... we're... different..." Wolf Mother trailed off.
"So? No one except for identical twins are the same and even then, their minds ain't the same."
"Cub, everyone wears a suit."
"No they—"
Wolf Father held up a paw, "Nah— nah, let me finish. Everyone wears a suit. Some wear itchy, stiff wool suits like us. Others wear suits that are too big and are constantly falling off them. Even more wear suits that are too tight and pinch them in uncomfortable places—"
"Wolf—" Wolf Mother warned.
"What are you Wolfing me for? I'm keeping it pup friendly. Ahem. What, I'm trying to tell you, is... no one goes running around naked, right?"
"Uh," the wolf pup hesitated, "right."
"What were to happen if we went running around in only our fur coats?"
"We'd get... dirty?"
"Ok, yes, but what else?"
"...Arrested?"
"Exactly! So put on your suit and quit the yapping or we'll be late."
The wolf pup was now a grown Wolf. Now living on their own in their own den. Wolf Mother and Wolf Father still check in from time to time. It's the only reason why the Wolf still keeps the wool coat. When the Wolf first started to live on their own, wearing clothes that show off their black shiny fur, they noticed how others would stare. Was their fur not tidy enough? Was their tail matted? Or worse,— were they shedding? No, it took the Wolf a while to notice that the stares were directed at their big nail-tipped paws or their fanged muzzle.
But they kept refusing to constrict their being in the cursed wool suit.
Their look started to draw attention of others.
Soon, the Wolf had their own pack who felt the same about the suits they too were forced to wear.
The Resistance had many sorts of humans and others trying their best to get along in their land-ship community. Haven and Reina were only two of many more who do risky work to liberate the planet from the Hegemonic tyranny, whether it's retrieving stolen food, maintaining supply lines to others needing liberation, or destroying the detainment prisons.
Their return made sure the Hegemon doesn't spot them, using alternate paths above and under ground to throw them off, and using coded language to checkpoint guards for access.
Defending the secluded green outpost was a red eyed, faded green robot named V3x mixed out of available tech and scrap lined with yellow cords to form a bear of a man. Haven and Reina were given the go-ahead, along with recently rescued prisoners needing to be supported from their wounds and hunger, and V3x leads them through a passage disguised as a junk pile, opening a compartment to the larger hub. They were greeted by his original inventor Zev Liebowitz, a balding and physically imposing man despite his aging, who provided the blueprint and his daughter Roberta, a bespectacled and grinning face, who gave the necessary upgrades.
Haven bore the brunt of attacks with his armor showing dents and cracks and hobbling slightly, but he'd be back in action as long as his body could muster, and the safety allowed him to shift his sapphire canine armor into smaller panels and finally into a badge around his neck. Reina held onto two survivors, a couple named Youssef Said and Maria Garcia-Cortes, both wearing matching red scarves and diamond patterned shirts, and escorted them to a small but equipped medical station.
There they met a careful, polite nurse named Universal Friend, who smiled brightly and had flowing black braids down to their waist, and thanked Reina and Haven as the newcomers were situated. The two ventured further into amber lit rooms with violet and blue walls and ceilings covered with heirlooms, graffiti, and drawings. They passed by several people doing different activities from engineering, parenting, art, listening to pirate radio, and dancing to music like rock and salsa. Haven met a familiar tusked face, an alien with an elephant-like appearance, with multiple trunks to do off jobs and shake hands or give an amiable trumpeting doot.
They loved it, though they knew they couldn't make a secure home, not at this time, and it wouldn't be the first. Still they kept living and still they kept loving, far from being only a human trait, and it was a great place to breathe and rest for a spell.
