“Hey..” he mutters quietly as she starts crying again, a soft grin forming on his face. “Was I that bad?” he jokes, it’s his way of coping and he also wants to cheer her up. He is relieved to see her trying to suppress a grin herself, at least she wasn’t as sad as she was before, and that’s good. He doesn’t want her to be sad, especially not because of him.
“Okay, thank the gods.” he makes a gesture like wiping sweat from his forehead, “You really kept up the suspense there.” he muses, just happy that finally she believes him. A conversation he had with his best friend Livi crosses his mind. She’d told him to fix things by doing something stupid, he guesses she had been right. Odyssia finally really smiles and he mirrors her expression, pressing a kiss to her forehead, then both her cheeks. Now that he can show that kind of affection, he doesn’t really want to ever stop.
She catches his lips again, and he can’t stop smiling, making it a messy kiss but he doesn’t mind. It takes a while before they break apart again, and he pulls her closer when they do, wrapping his arms around her again. “Is it just me or is it getting cold in here?” he asks. He had kind of stopped noticing since they’d sat down, too occupied with other business. But now it was starting to seep in again, the night cooling everything around them down. Noah never really got cold easily, unless he was submerged in cold water or something like that, but even he was starting to feel chilly, he could imagine it was worse for Odyssia, being a daughter of.. “Hecate. I can’t believe you made me guess like that. Explains a lot though, you’d disappear whenever I tried to see which cabin was yours…” he rambles, his drunkenness even more present now that things were calming down. “Not that I did that.. often or anything.” he continues, realising it might make him sound like a stalker otherwise.
She nods, enjoying having his arms around her once again as she begins to feel the cold. “I felt a lot warmer about five seconds ago, I’ll admit.” She says, shivering again. Odyssia was often more susceptible to the cold than some of the other campers, she noticed. Especially campers with parents who were associated with warmth. She noticed that right now, it was almost as if Noah got warmer the colder it got in the room. Maybe it was just how close she was to him right now that made her think that.
“Hey, I’m not an easy person to be friends with.” She tells him, and then it hits her. What are they now? Are they still ‘friends’, or are they something more? She hopes it’s the latter. Odyssia frowns in thought, then realises that she’s not said anything in a while. “I’m probably going to start using my magic more around you now that you know. I have been for a while without you noticing, actually.” She recalls the night at the party, when she’d healed her leg, the whole drunken debacle that led to her getting herself hurt in the first place. “I just wish I could use it to get out of here.”
