It's called the Global Justice Report, it is here. This is an actionable plan which can be sent to legislators and demanded of political parties. We could save the world within our lifetimes.
It has always been possible. It is still possible.
Interesting reading, but i wanna nitpick something that jumped out at me- the graphs it uses to illustrate using groupings i find a bit odd
"World" for everyone else is odd to me, North America/Oceana is odd to me considering how commonwealth countries in the Oceana region are under the U.K monarchy. So why is it not grouped with Europe which it is about as far from geographically as the northern american continent anyway. What about the geographic region of micronesia through polynesia? Are they in the same economic category as the north americas? Making a bigger graph with more specific categories would actually be more informative of economic disparity here. Kind of weird categorising going on
Not disputing the importance of the topic just pointing out that you can reach the same conclusion using the same data just shown more accurately

"lock in" is probably one of the most important phrases to enter the public lexicon in the 2020s
Everyone say thank you sanitation workers we owe you our lives sanitation workers
the horrors persist but so do I
It's nuts how common it is to not allow children to be angry, even (especially) in households where adults are angry all the time. As a child I knew my own anger was unacceptable--not just expressing it outwardly but feeling it at all. So now as an adult my immediate reaction to my own anger is often to feel guilt instead of like. Noticing when someone is being rude or unfair or my boundaries are being violated or whatever. fucked up.
not even funny how true this is for me
CeCe Rogers on Facebook writes: "Two Black Tennessee lawmakers were physically escorted out of chambers this week while Republicans quietly held a hearing to approve gerrymandered maps that would eliminate the state's only majority-Black congressional district.
No referendum. No special election. No public vote.
Because they know what happens when voters actually get a say — just look at Virginia, where the people spoke so loudly that Republicans had to drag the courts in to override them.
This isn't new. During Reconstruction, Black Americans held more congressional seats than at any point in the prior 90 years of American history. And white supremacists spent the next several decades tearing that down, through gerrymandering, poll taxes, and voter intimidation.
150 years later, the same tools. Different suits.
The audacity of escorting Black lawmakers out of their own chambers while dismantling Black political representation, and then telling us the courts aren't political, is breathtaking. These are the same courts they're counting on to make it stick.
This is a coordinated, multi-front assault on Black Americans. And we need to say it exactly that plainly."
as much as i get the sentiment behind "make more bad art" there's gotta be a better way of communicating "you don't have to be technically proficient or hold yourself to a specific standard of practice" that doesn't sound as backhanded lol
a fun fact the boundary waters contains 1100 lakes. unfun fact the type of copper-nickel sulfide mine that the US federal government just voted to allow in the boundary waters watershed has a 100% chance of leaking and poisoning the entire watershed

I can't imagine Taylor swift and her football player having a normal human conversation with each other sorry
When they're in private I think they just blink at each other and every few minutes one of them says "wow babe that was a really good tweet"
