“And yet you don’t come to me for a checkup.”
Surely a GP could perform the checkup, so it didn’t require a specialist of the sort. But then again, that wasn’t his function in Bart’s, so he wouldn’t have access to the appropriate equipment. Bullshit though—–he could diagnose anything without them, and had done so on the fields. But why was he even bothered by that he, a doctor, hadn’t figured out his wife’s pregnancy? He was going to be a father or two.
“Hey now, three girls aren’t bad either. I’ll be surrounded by angels. Either way makes no difference, we’ll still be looking after a screaming baby and having sleepless nights for a good year. Imagine the sibling rivalry later too.”
Actually, no, better not to imagine that, or it might turn out like his and Harry’s. Then again, surely he and Mary would be there for them if ever, unlike his absent parents. He was no longer in war; not all the time, but relatively in a safer environment. Mary too. They had their own home, they were financially capable, they were loving and perfect for each other. Speaking of which.
“Think Rosie will be jealous if we give the baby too much attention? We will have to.”
“You are pretty busy, y’know? Besides. Didn’t you enjoy the surprise? I thought that was a rather more fun way to tell you then just waltzing in your office.”
Perching herself upon his thigh, she cradled her head in her hands, a cheeky glint in her eyes. Considering when they found out about Rosie, it wasn’t necessarily a typical way to find out you were expecting, Mary wanted to do something a little more normal for this time around. Lord knew they could do with some measure of normality in their life. But alas, now the two of them knew the good news and that was that.
“Look, come on... Don’t stress. We figured this all out with Rosie, she’s turned out pretty damn good so far if I do say so myself. We might get lucky this time and have a child who sleeps better then Rosie did. Whether it’s a boy or a girl, they’ll be all we could ever ask for. You gotta quit worrying.”
Her last words had a little laugh to them, giving his hand a squeeze as she turned to let herself lay comfortably in his lap. Maybe she was reaching a little with that hope of a sleeping child, but they didn’t know. All Mary knew is she had never been more willing to do it all over again. The end result was all too worth it.
“I’m sure she’ll understand. It’ll take her a while to get used to, sure. But it’s not like she’s loosing either one of us. She’ll get her own little best friend.”
Not all siblings disagreed like Harry and John did, they could only hope for the different with Rosie and this one to come.
also real talk, you best bet when mary found out about john’s ‘cheating’ she had beyonce’s lemonade album on full blast, even when she was still living with him and he was in the house she would’ve been singing at the top of her lungs, “How did it come down to this? Scrolling through your call list, I don't wanna lose my pride, but I'mma fuck me up a bitch” with no fucks given whatsoever because my girl ain’t got no chill
do people not understand a concept called tag your fucking hate posts or am i just missing something here?

“IT IS NOT a mother’s job to go out of their way to embarrass their daughter. god knows what book you read that told you that!”a harsh snap for a brief second, arms continue to fold. embarrassment still evident in her cheeks. mothers who would have them?”i REALLY don’t need to here that story again, but you know it’s so OUT THERE that it could all be a lie and that is how i’m going to take it, i have no watson dna in me at all.”light smirk on her pressed lips.
“You wait till you have a daughter, if you ever do. You’ll realise just how kind I am being to you.” She added with a pinch of her daughter’s cheek, a satisfied smirk on her face. “As much as I’d love to say you had a normal entrance into the world and weren’t delivered by your father in the back of our car off in a side street in the middle of London, do you really think with our lives that that seems almost out of the ordinary to happen?” To be fair, Mary had a point. There lives were NEVER ordinary.

Ah, right! It didn’t really take Greg a while to figure out why Mary was there at Scotland Yard – Sherlock did mention finding a way to pick up the case files from his office despite the consulting detective himself being busy with god knows what. With a smile he waved Mary into his office, getting to his feet to arrange the stack of papers on his desk. “Hi! Yeah, right, you’re here for the case files, right?”
“That would be it. Bloody bastard wouldn’t get his arse off the computer, apparently more research is needed into different soil types...” She added with a laugh and a shake to her head. Mary adored Sherlock, she did - but somedays he also drove her absolutely insane. “Mental day here?” Mary asked, her eyes glancing around to the hurrying officers passing by, all keeping themselves busy.

A SIGH !! rosamund always had a MOUTH, but for some reason tonight it irked jim just a tad more. as long as she can do her job EFFICIENTLY, truly, that was what mattered. and she can. she was one of the more excellent ones in his work ( besides moran and a couple others ).
‘ tá. ’ yes. his face crinkled at the idea. now that was a sight jim would rather not see. ‘ ar ndóigh, ní. ’ of course not. as much as jim would LOVE to send her outside to punish rosamund for being a little messier tonight, it would be more of a liability. dried blood is still blood. ‘ go shower in the guest room first. i’ll leave you something outside and take care of your clothes. ’
“Ba mhaith leat a bheith beannaigh dom a fheiceáil i mo éadaí, do chaillteanas.” you'd be blessed to see me in my underwear, your loss, Rosamund mumbled under her breath, replying in gaelic, a sassy turn on her heel as she headed down to the guest room. Thankfully this wasn’t the first time she had to rely on him after a take down, she knew her way around, repeating old cycles like it was nobody’s business.
She wasn’t in the shower for too long, 10 minutes at max, fresh and clean from the blood despite the actions she took to get rid of the guy making a lasting imprint on her. She slipped on the clothes he had left her, even if they were a little big for her petite body. “So, anyone else next on the hit list?” Rosamund mused, leaning by the wall, twirling her brunette locks around her fingers.

It was certainly going somewhere—–perhaps not one that Rosamund would like. John might not be a doctor yet, but he was trained to look for symptoms, evaluate levels of pain and diagnose based on what he could see. It was the only reason why he could maintain his scholarship, and why he would only gave up his free time to one student, not only for their money and looks but for their intelligence too.
The bandages were nicely wrapped, as he taught her with, but he spotted the wince before he could even be impressed.
“You haven’t stopped the bleeding enough, you have to stop it completely before you wrap it, but what’s with your ribs?”
He wasn’t certain of her tolerance level for pain to determine what injury she was suffering, so he wouldn’t judge too quickly yet. But he had a feeling that she wasn’t all telling the truth; clumsiness didn’t happen in one night. Not even at this extent. And she was making him look bad as if his tutoring was more important than going to the clinic. He waved her over anyway, pursing his lips.
“Let me see.”
Rosamund was used to being quick on her feet and forced to make decisions on the spot for the sake of her team. But when she was living her ‘normal’ life, trying to blend in with every day society, people who weren’t paid assassins for the government, it was almost as if every talent she had for fast thinking and fast action went out the window.
This was why she never developed decent enough relations with anyone, why she never let herself get close to absolutely no one. With her line of work, it was always a recipe for disaster.
“Uh I just, went to the gym last night. Abs day, y’know? All of it’s a bit sore and that, nothing to worry ‘bout.”
She had been around John enough, been tutored by him long enough that she knew he was as stubborn as she was, that he would be insistent to check her over, help her out, and make sure she was really okay. And the thought of him seeing the real extent of her injuries, the depths of the cuts that covered her arms, to the darkness and length of the bruises that riddled her body was more of a worry then she cared to admit.
“John, seriously, I’ll be okay. I’ll sort it out when I get back to my flat. I actually have an assignment for my global health class I was hoping you’d be able to help me out with?”
Something told her he wasn’t going to agree with her idea.

MARY.
“Mary, you’re incredible. I promise to never use your daughter in a scheme to get laid ever again. Well, until she’s eighteen and my wing woman. Joking!” She reaches forward to kiss Mary on both cheeks, grinning. “I will spill all the gruesome details over our next coffee morning. I enjoy watching Molly squirm when you talk about sex. You’d think for a woman who often has naked men on her table, she’d be happier comparing penis sizes.”
“You are incorrigible.” She shook her head with a laugh, loosening up her blonde hair with a run through of her hand. “Lord knows I have enough weird sex stories that even Cosmo would be lost with what to do.” Back when she was Rosamund, she used to get up to a lot of weird things, to be kind about it. “To be fair, I think she’s more busy looking at other things then the size of their cocks.” Mary couldn’t help but snigger a little at that - Cecelia always had a tendency to make Mary laugh, even when she knew she shouldn’t.
