i donât believe i owe anyone at this point, which means that Iâll be coming back over here periodically to harvest replies.
Youâre absolutely welcome to tag me as @ ephiitaphs to get my attention that way, but donât feel like you have to.
I think thatâs all that needs saying for now and nowâs when i inadvertently promo everyone iâm writing with so that theyâll see this post.Â

â think of me when you want to come home â (john)
âHow do I ever leave?â Because itâs the job, obviously, but god, heâs going to miss John for the time being. âThatâll make me even more frustrated,â he teases. âDonât worry, I wonât forget you.â
â stop this! think about what youâre doing! â min
Her shout was enough to make him jump a little, as concentrated as he had been on what he was doing. âIs it your lifeâs goal to ruin everything?â Sheâd stepped in more than once, in different ways, sure, but it was always her instead of something else.Â
â there is no god that i can see â thespian
âGood. The less I have to worry about, the better.â There was no way either he or Thespian would be able to deal with that sort of power. There were probably some demons like that, too, but he hadnât quite yet gotten good enough to summon the likes of those on his own.Â
â why are you fighting me? â (tae)
âWhatâs my other choice?â Thereâs nothing else to be done here. All other possible paths branched off well before this point. âEveryoneâs competition at some point, no matter what.â
tragediumâ:
Liah doesnât think that was really the best course of action, and likely would have argued it had their situation been different, but right now itâs in the past, and they have bigger shit to worry about than two killed officers - soon to be four killed officers. Sheâs really fucking in it now, christ. âThe inner cordonâs 100 meters,â she says, recalling the standard procedure. âThatâs all open ground. Then thereâs the outer cordon, which is where most of the personnel are. Theyâre concentrated on the front, but theyâll be spreading out now that they donât know where we are.â She swallows. âThe traffic cordon will be at major intersections beyond that. Theyâre treating you like a bomb site, if that makes you feel any sort of pride at your work.â She shakes out her hands. âWE could break into the building next to us, climb through a window or something. We canât just run at the cordon - theyâll kill us.â Improvising is not her favorite thing in the world, but every second they waste planning is a second they donât have to make it out alive. âAlright, Iâm going to open the door on three, okay? Please donât shoot next to my ear.â She counts down from three, and on one she opens the door, yelling, âDonât shoot!â with her hands held out in front of her.
âFuck.â Thatâs the price of popularity, he supposes. âIt would if I wasnât about to be shot at.â It really would be something to brag about - if he survives this, and that really not certain. He nods at her suggestion. âBest to do, that, then.â Itâs probably not worth the breath, but heâs got to be sure. âIf we get into that building and itâs a trap, Iâm killing you first.â She probably already knows this, from the gun heâd already been waving in her face. âIâll try not to.â No guarantees, depending on what the guards do. He hangs back a moment, lets them get a good look at her and start to try to deal with that situation, before he shows himself properly, gun raised. âDown,â he tells her, already pulling the trigger to shoot the first one, whoâs a lot better situated, even with her in between. That gets rid of any issues with the second, closer one and he falls as well. âGet that gun,â he tells her, back to the exterior wall, watching for suspicious movement. âWe donât have much time. Cover me. Next building, like you said.â This could be considered the hard part, if all of this wasnât the hard part. âWatch up as well as around.â If theyâre treating him like a bomb, they arenât going to want to take any chances. Then heâs off running.Â
â is that insubordination iâm sensing? â jim
âNever.â Theyâre around company and that was what worried him the most about this. It was possible that it was directed at someone else - said to him as part of proving a point, but what was the point to be proven? âI wouldnât disobey orders.â And now heâs sounding like heâs still in the army again.
