Alex snorted. The coming buzz and sudden company drawing some tension out of her. “ About a hundred times.” A hundred seemed like an exaggeration but Alex remembered pretty vividly how much they fought as teenagers. “Sisters do that.” She concluded with a shrug. “It passes.”

That wouldn’t be the first time Alex has heard that. “Look, there’s something I’m working on and I need a lab.” Seeing as she was practically kicked off of DEO property it was either the extreme of universe hopping or calling her mother. The choice was obvious. “I was hoping to ask, uh... Caitlin” Alex stammered, gesturing vaguely in Frost’s direction “you know, if she minded.”

Nia sits down next to her and softly taps her shoulder “are you okay Alex I’m here if you need to talk.” She then shakes her head “no Kara was busy and brainy needed to work so I’m all alone tonight.”

She takes the shot from the bartender and downs it before ordering another and sighs looking down at her phone placing it down on the table.

Alex took in the suggestion to talk and then quickly moved past it. “You usually come here alone for...” She paused, watching Nia take back her drink. “Shots?” Alex wondered if alcohol affected Nia differently like it did Kara. She realized actually she didn’t know very much about the woman and Alex found herself growing glad for the buzz of curiosity, and the distraction. “Must of been a rough day at Cat Co.” She mused.

Kara raised a brow, a smile teasing her lips. It was rare hearing a compliment like that from her sister—she could only imagine how good Laurel must have been in that match.

“Are you being… salty right now?” She asked, unable to hide her growing grin. Kara was definitely not going to let a chance to tease her sister slip by easily. “Isn’t that what sparring is for though? For exchanging pointers and learning from each other? I know you are super badass and all, but I’m sure Laurel could still teach you a thing or two.”

“I mean, she did train under the League of Assassins after all. Well… kind of.”

The scoff was instant in response to the accusation but Alex brushed past it. “No it’s for beating the crap out of each other until one of you can claim the title of best.” She droned sarcastically. Maybe she was a little salty. “It was just unexpected is all. Sara I’d see it coming but... Laurel?” Alex gave a shrug. “I guess you cant really take up the vigilante gig without being a badass.” In truth Alex wasn’t bothered. Her surprise had sparked a wonder in her and somewhere between being pinned face first to a wall with her arms behind her back and being swept off her feet in a move she’d never even seen before, her interest was sparked. Laurel had promised to teach her that one. “Don’t worry, we’re sparring again in a few days. It IS about making each other better.”
