Who do you vote?
Communist Party of the Officalverse

The Elections
An election is held every 252 days The next election is on December 31, 2026.
Elections can be called earlier than 252 days, if the Red Sun or the Chairman of the Communist Party chooses to call one.
The Red Sun chooses before an election which parties are allowed to run.
The election is for the Red Sun of the People's Republic of the Officalverse.
After the election, parties must try and form a coalition government, where parties can agree on policy and power conditions to form a Government. To form a successful Government you must have the majority of the votes between the parties in the Government.
The Red Sun
The Red Sun, formerly known as the President, will be from the Party in the government that received the most votes. The Chairman of that Party will choose who will get to be the Red Sun, and are allowed to choose themselves. There is no limit to the amount of times a Red Sun may be Red Sun, other than that they cannot serve more than 2 consecutive terms.
The Red Sun has considerable power, including being able to raise questions to Parliament without being a member of the Government. They can also dismiss anybody from the Government.
The Red Sun will choose their Red Moon upon inauguration. The Red Moon will succeed the Red Sun should the Red Sun die, resign, or otherwise be disposed of. The Red Sun has the right to change the Red Moon at any time. If the Red Moon dies, they will be succeeded by the Red Star. The Red Star is chosen by the Red Moon.
Current Red Sun: @mengistu-haile-mariam
Current Red Moon: @beansandsausages32
Current Red Star: @eredin-offical
The Premier
The Premier is a nominal position with no de facto power. The Premier serves until they are voted out or removed by the Prime Minister, and is not elected, but is chosen by the Red Sun.
The Premier is not allowed to hold any parliamentary seats, or lead a party.
The Premier acts as a moral guidance for the Officals, and is the Head of State of the Officalverse.
Current Premier: @kanye-west-offical
The Prime Minister
The Prime Minister is one of the most powerful political positions, and is elected by pluralist vote on the 2nd day of every month. The next election for Prime Minister is on August 2, 2026.
The Prime Minister chooses the Red Moon and Red Star after every election, and can change who those are at any time. They may also choose a different Premier whenever they want. The Red Sun does however have the power to remove the Prime Minister from office.
Current Prime Minister: @mengistu-haile-mariam
Senior Aides to the Red Sun
The Senior Aides to the Red Sun are high-ranking advisors to the Head of Government. They hold considerable de facto influence, but little to none de jure power.
Currenr Senior Aides: vacant
The Leader of the Opposition
The Leader of the Opposition will be chosen by the Chairman of the Party that received the most votes that is NOT in the Government. The Leader of the Opposition should challenge laws implemented by the Government, and has the power to call votes of no confidence.
A vote of no confidence can be either for the parliament to vote on, or a public poll; it is the decision of the Leader of the Opposition. If the majority (>50%) vote yes, the Red Sun will be removed from office. The most frequently they can be called is once every week. Votes of no confidence cannot be called if the majority of the parties in the government are left-leaning.
Current Leader of the Opposition: vacant, the only party in the last election was the Communist Party.
The Government
The Government will consist of any parties that successfully formed a coalition to surpass the 50% voting threshold. The Government must propose all changes to the parliament, who will vote on the decisions. The Red Sun must also approve all changes from the Government. The Government may propose for any Offical to be convicted of a crime, in which case the Parliament will vote.
People in the Government:
@mao-the-dong-offical, and @mengistu-haile-mariam.
The Parliament
The Parliament consists of all politicians with the amount of votes in percentage their Party received during the election. If a party with 5 people receives 25% of the votes, each member will have 5 seats. Should there be a percentage left over, the Chairman of that Party will have additional seats. After the elections, politicians are allowed to give their seats to other politicians, but the lowest fraction possible is .5 seats.
The Parliament must approve all reforms from the Government with a majority of the voting members voting yes. The Parliament must even approve if the Government wishes to convict somebody. The only exception is if the Chairman of the Communist Party decides to raise questions in a public poll or directly to the Red Sun or Moon. Parliament questions are called off as soon as the majority of the seats vote in one direction.
People in the Parliament:
@mao-the-dong-offical, with 25 seats.
@mengistu-haile-mariam, with 20 seats.
@sandstorm-but-offical, with 15 seats.
@coffee--spill, with 10 seats. (observer)

@burning-britain-official, @queen-of-sugar-cookies, @2chai2spiciest, @garlic-bread-offical, @lemonade-offical
The Parties
Any Offical may form a party, and anybody may join a party. I will provide a short description of each party alongside their political leaning. Whoever forms a party is automatically Chairman of the Party, but can give this position to anyone else at whim, as long as they are a member of that Party and not the Premier. You may only be a member of 1 party at a time. Parties can be closed down if the majority of the Parliament vote so.
