remember when we had a beautifully staged innovative musical with a diverse cast that used music as a medium for character as well as plot and was so so stunning to look at to boot. remember when. and remember when somehow a show that was so against taking a stance that it comes across as excusing terrible behavior because of mental health at best and glorifying the debilitating effects of mental illness at worst swept the tonys that year instead. remember when there were two shows that featured the band as part of the cast for most (bandstand) if not all (great comet) of the show and a bland pop-rock musical somehow won best orchestrations over that?? jesus christ man. fuck.

ok for the first set i have to be predictable and say aro pierre. i believe this so strongly it’s one of my trip wires we all know this. and despite my undying love for him as a character, it is always morally correct to attack andrei bolkonsky. which leaves me to crack natasha’s egg, which is something i’ve never considered before but could be huge

for the garbage gang… hm. attack anatole is the obvious answer because 1) i hate him 2) he’s the only one i think i could defeat. i miiiiight be able to take hélène physically but she would ruin my life so thoroughly afterwards it wouldn’t be worth it. also, on principle i refuse to make anatole aro because i hate him and i don’t want him in my club. i think i have to aro hélène simply because i am too deeply attached to the idea of dolokhov having nebulous ignored romantic feelings for the kuragin siblings its so delicious to me. aro hélène could be based i just hesitate to label her at all bc her idea of love is so warped its hard to fit into traditional romantic orientation definitions but that in and of itself is a little aro coded (im aro i can say that). im talking myself into it the more i write i love you helene i love you aromanticism

very strange to be a fan of a "classic" thing bc like. its overrated. its underrated. everyone knows OF it but its a toss up if theyve actually ever engaged with it. you want to talk to everyone about how good it is but its so culturally ingrained that everyone waves off your glowing review as "well duh, its [classic thing]". its dismissed and overlooked BECAUSE it is so good. you cant find anyone to talk to about it except for deranged ppl on tumblr bc the masses havent actively thought about it in 30 years. its been referenced in every form of media since it released. no one gives it a second thought. youre going crazy.
