I think Luke deserves more credit than the fandom gives him.

It’s not that he cares about Clary more than the pack. It’s that Clary is his daughter. He was there through her mother’s pregnancy. Through Clary’s birth. He raised her since she was an infant. He’s known her and loved her since before she was born.

Please remember this when you judge him for “putting Clary over the pack”. Please remember this when you judge him for “being irrational when it comes to Clary”. He’s not acting like a pack leader, he’s acting like a father. Any parent would do the same.

He introduced flakes of gold, pearls and opals to the caddis flies and they did in fact use them for their cocoons. They use their own silk as the glue to hold their pupal constructions together.
