Summary: Kaz Brekker is known throughout the Barrel for his various schemes and skills. But there’s one particular talent no one in his life is privy to, and it’s going to help him get 30 million kruge. Crack Fic, Short And Sweet!

Fic:

Kaz walked away from the meeting with Jan Van Eck, his mind racing.

He’d accepted the deal, accepted 30 million kruge for breaking into the Ice Court and stealing a scientist with a drug that could change the world.

But Kaz wasn’t an idiot. It was too risky for humans, and only his best people could maybe do it. He didn’t like his chances.

There was no way he was gonna risk human error.

He hesitated. There was another option, but did he really want to instead use them?

Kaz thought about it for a long while as he made his way to the Slat. They were brave, they were many, and their relationship ran deep.

If he was being honest, they probably were his best, despite Jesper and Inej’s skill.

And humans…. Humans wouldn’t ever be able to succeed, he figured.

He knew what he had to do. He knew who he could trust.

It's that time of year! The @grishaversebigbang is way under way, and this year I had the pleasure of working with @frisslimbim and @serene-victory-77 for the mini bang! Using serene_victory's fanfic as inspiration I created this comic style cover for it! Yes the premise is "what if six of crows but Kaz trained rodents instead?" It's a very fun fic and I enjoyed working with them both so much!

The Vaccine Had to Be Used. He Used It. He Was Fired.

The Texas doctor had six hours. Now that a vial of Covid-19 vaccine had been opened on this late December night, he had to find 10 eligible people for its remaining doses before the precious medicine expired. In six hours.

Scrambling, the doctor made house calls and directed people to his home outside Houston. Some were acquaintances; others, strangers. A bed-bound nonagenarian. A woman in her 80s with dementia. A mother with a child who uses a ventilator.

After midnight, and with just minutes before the vaccine became unusable, the doctor, Hasan Gokal, gave the last dose to his wife, who has a pulmonary disease that leaves her short of breath.

For his actions, Dr. Gokal was fired from his government job and then charged with stealing 10 vaccine doses worth a total of $135 — a shun-worthy misdemeanor that sent his name and mug shot rocketing around the globe.

“It was my world coming down,” Dr. Gokal said in a telephone interview on Friday. “To have everything collapse on you. God, it was the lowest moment in my life.”

“The officials maintained that he had violated protocol and should have returned the remaining doses to the office or thrown them away, the doctor recalled. He also said that one of the officials startled him by questioning the lack of “equity” among those he had vaccinated.

“Are you suggesting that there were too many Indian names in that group?” Dr. Gokal said he asked.

Exactly, he said he was told.”

My mum currently works for the NHS in infection prevention. When there are spare doses they RUN to get people vaccinated. They go through the list of most vulnerable and if there are people still waiting they get a dose. Sometimes there's 5 doses, sometimes there's 6, but every single drop is used.

The fact this is not a global approach to the vaccinations is sickening

As my first piece was donated to @creatorsforblm on instagram, I thought it would be nice to make another piece specifically for the fic. This piece is titled The Saint and The Sinner, and while Kaz isn’t in the fic all that much, the few scenes he has with Alina really crackle with “They’re advisories but they could be better friends” Energy

Grishaverse Big Bang 2020

I had the pleasure of working on the @grishaversebigbang​ this year, a collection of artists, edit makers, writers and beta readers of fan made content for the grishaverse!

Here is one of the two pieces I made for @celestlian’s fic The Light That Blinds. The fic follows Alina Starkov as she goes undercover in Kettedam in the Dregs club, making allies with Inej and Jesper, and rivals with Kaz. 

I had a super fun time working on this piece and in this group. I also donated this piece to @creatorsforblm on instagram to help fund black lives matter charities. (Its also my most liked post on insta O.O)
