Important Info Omitted About the FTOIL Page
Here’s the picture of the HW scene as shown on the FTOIL page:
This picture is from the MORNING AFTER.
It is NOT from the scene where Tifa says, “Words aren’t the only thing that tell someone what your thinking.”
This is important because ALL CAPTIONS ON THE FTOIL PAGE REFER SPECIFICALLY TO THE PICTURE SHOWN. Take a look:
The FFX caption and picture are both about Macalania Spring. The FFVI picture and caption are both about Celes and Locke first meeting, The FFIX picture and caption are both about Zidane returning to “the place I’ll return to someday” and Garnet waiting for him there. The other pictures on the page all match the captions, too.
Now, look at the caption for the HW scene on the FTOIL page. It says:
The night before the final battle
Thanks to Tifa, Cloud regains himself, and before the final battle with Sephiroth, without using words, he confirms with her that their feelings match.
As I said before all captions on the FTOIL page refer specifically to the picture shown. Because of this, the caption is talkng about Cloud and Tifa sharing feelings without words the MORNING AFTER, not the night before.
THIS PROVES THAT THE FTOIL PAGE DOES NOT CONFIRM THAT CLOUD AND TIFA HAD SEX.
1) The caption fits the “morning after” scene because at the very beginning of this scene, Cloud says, “It’s almost dawn” Since dawn hasn’t happened yet, it’s still night time when the “morning after”: scene occurs.
2) Cloud and Tifa are actually SHOWN sharing mutual feelings without words in this scene.You see it in video HERE and in the following screenshot:
Furthermore, the Highwind scene picture on the FTOIL page is of Tfa saying this line:
Tifa “Give me a little longer… Just a little bit longer…”
(She rests her head on his shoulder again.)
Tifa “This day will never come again… So let me have this moment…”
This is important because Tifa says that line exactly the same in BOTH the HA and LA versions of the Highwind scene.
Because of this, the FTOIL page is showing both the HA and LA versions of the HW scene. As a result, the FTOIL page does NOT prove that the HA version is canon.
Furthermore, since the FTOIL page shows that “sharing mutual feelings wthout words” actually happened the next morning, then ALL references to Cloud and Tifa sharing mutual feelings without words are talking about Scene 137 (Last Morning) and NOT Scene 136 (Understanding) when Tifa says, “Words aren’t the only thing…” This would include references such as the FFVII Ultimania Omega, pg. 198, story summary, which says:
“When their companions disperse to the places where people important to them await, Cloud and Tifa are the only two to remain behind. They reveal their mutual feelings in their final hours, and…….” ~FFVII Ultimania Omega, pg. 198, story summary
THEREFORE, NO REFERENCES TO CLOUD AND TIFA SHARING MUTUAL FEELINGS WITHOUT WORDS MEAN THAT THEY HAD SEX.
Furthermore, Cloud and Tifa share mutual feelings without words in BOTH the HA and LA versions of the HW scene. We know this because Cloud says this near the end of the scene in BOTH versions:
Cloud “It’s all right, Tifa. You said so yourself yesterday.”
Cloud “At least we don’t have to go on alone.”
(A pause. Tifa nods)
Tifa"Yes… That’s right!“
THEREFORE, THE MUTUAL FEELINGS THAT THEY SHARE WITHOUT WORDS ARE THAT THEY ARE NOT ALONE BECAUSE THEY HAVE ONE ANOTHER. SINCE THIS HAPPENS IN BOTH THE HA AND LA VERSIONS, THOSE WORDS CAN BE TAKEN PLATONICALLY AS WELL AS ROMANTICALLY.
That is, the LA version means that they aren’t alone because they have each other as friends whereas the HA version means they aren’t alone because they have a romantic relationship.
HOWEVER, THE FTOIL PAGE DOES NOT CONFIRM WHETHER THE HA OR THE LA VERSION IS CANON BECAUSE THE SCENE SHOWN OCCURS IN BOTH VERSIONS.
Futhermore, as explained above
1) SINCE THE FTOIL PAGE CLARIFIES IN WHICH SCENE CLOUD AND TIFA SHARE MUTUAL FEELINGS WITHOUT WORDS
2) SINCE ALL OTHER REFERENCES TO CLOUD AND TIFA SHARING MUTUAL FEELINGS WITHOUT WORDS ALSO REFER TO SCENE 137 INSTEAD OF SCENE 136
3) THE FTOIL PAGE DOES NOT SPECIFY WHETHER THE HA OR THE LA VERSION OF THE HW SCENE IS CANON
AS A RESULT, IT IS PROVEN THAT NO ROMANCE BETWEEN CLOUD AND TIFA CAN BE VERIFIED BEFORE AC/ACC
(Personally, I don’t think a romance can be verified between Cloud and Tifa during or after AC/ACC ether,t I’ll leave that up to you…)
