and, then, there was silence. a void where chaos once existed. a sense of unique peace ― where even her heartbeat foud a calm & steady pace, while jean’s own mind seemed to plunge into a state of semi-awareness. she’d be unable to say how long she remained that way; or even if there was a gap between the beginning and the end. but it was clear that it was the lull hiding the absolute form of pandemonium. eventually, jean began to feel something ― it was almost as her consciousness was slowly passing through the layers of lucidity; a mind being pulled back to reality after a long time asleep. and suddenly it hit her. as fast as it had begun, the serenity disappeared. every single memory came back, all at once, fighting for a prominent place in her thoughts, filling a hitherto paralyzed mind.
jean wanted to scream. ask for help or tear out what was within her; even if she had to tear off parts of her own self in the process. it was, however, impossible. it was intense ― an energy so strong it seemed to burn her from the inside out, continuously. the dark became bright and the mutant realized desperately that she was, somehow, back on earth; but it didn’t seemed to be. jean was far from home and every single part of her being knew it, somehow. she became aware of the ground against her body and the chill night air hitting her skin ― and then, she was allowed to scream. of fear, of anger, of sadness& remorse, of a mixture of feelings that would erode anyone’s spirit. blue eyes flew open, hands clinging to the thing closest to her ― and another voice was only now clear to her ears.
blue eyes flew open, hands clinging to the thing closest to her ― and another voice was only now clear to her ears. the stranger’s presence was frightening and soothing at the same time; she didn’t know what his intentions were, but at least she knew she wasn’t alone. “ where am i? „ it was the first thing she could ask, her tone breaking and side by side with a hint of despair, while she was too scared to look around. as she breathed in a hush, however, jean could feel the control over her powers being returned to her; although it wasn’t enough to calm her down.
