yael typically wouldn’t be caught wandering around a place that preached the power of psychic energy and astrological abilities, but considering she had some time to kill while her daughter was at school the woman figured a bit of browsing couldn’t hurt. her eyes scanned the various healing crystals that sat upon the shelves of the moon valley shoppe, resisting the urge to scoff at how ridiculous it all was. “people don’t really believe in this stuff, do they?” she asked the nearest patron, picking up a dark stone and cradling it in her palm. “obsidian, used for ‘protection against negativity’,” yael rolled her eyes, placing it back down. “right, so i’m supposed to rely on a stone to solve all my problems? if that’s the case, i’m going to need a real fucking big one.”

verona paused, listening to the woman’s words. in truth she couldn’t care less about things like stones and crystals, but she had been running by the area and decided to look out of curiosity alone. “i don’t think there could be a whole business around it if people didn’t take it seriously.” then again, she didn’t know anything about business. maybe she was wrong. maybe people just bought stones because they found them pretty. “to me it just sounds like the sort of thing people buy when they don’t want to actually do anything about their problems.” she admitted with a shrug. if people wanted to buy crystals that was their business, but she personally couldn’t agree with relying on something to make change instead of actually taking action. “does the size of it matter? what if you just find a really cool rock? i feel that like gives me just as much good energy as anything i’m seeing here.”

    sketch pad in hand, a warm coat keeping dakota from falling victim to the air’s chill, his eyes squinted at one of the towering statues of the goddess artemis. there was no… particular affinity that he held to her specifically, other than the fact she sat on the opposite end of the garden as hera did. even in statue form, kota felt uncomfortable under her stone gaze, but his restlessness had prompted him to get some of his creativity out on paper. 

   that is not to say he was very good at sketching… so he kept the page turned towards him, hidden by an arm curled around the edge. dakota felt insecure about few things, but this was one. “you’re in my light,” he spoke up, eyes barely lifting from the page as he spoke to the person who had come in front of him. “but i’m done anyway, and looking for company. want to sit?”

    she should have been colder. it wasn’t the weather for gym shorts, yet that was definitely what verona was wearing, the rest of her legs left bare as she stood in the gardens. she hadn’t planned to stay long. there were just a few statues she enjoyed, admired even, like artemis, that had the perfect sense of power to end a long and fast run with.

     she turned slightly to face the man, hands on her hips. “yes, and i’m enjoying it a lot, thanks.” verona considered the offer for all but a half second before shrugging and sitting down. if she couldn’t find an immediate why not of course she’d go for it. “you’ve got me until i start freezing. i didn’t plan for randomly running into an artist who thinks he owns the sun so i didn’t think to bring other layers.” she was half joking at least, she doubted he thought he had full control over the light, and wasn’t even sure if he was an artist, but she was definitely lacking warmer clothes.

“as tempting as it sounds i usually try not to eat too much sugar. i’d have to save that for a special day.” though with the way things tended to go for her verona could probably have a special day quite soon, just one little victory to justify a treat like that. that didn’t mean she could just have it now though. training only led to success if you stuck through with it, and she was stubborn on that front. “although if you have any recommendations for something a little more savory i’d be happy to hear them.”

she grew up poor but had big successes early on in life

as a teenager she was basically a soccer superstar, everyone knew that if verona was on your team you would win

and she worked for it too, would always be seen training and practicing

there was always a possibility that verona could have gone pro but she didn’t wind up trying. she felt like education was the way to go in order to bring things up for her and her family

so she got a nice sports scholarship and went off to college only to find out a year in that she hated it

sure there were fun aspects but sitting in classes all day? did absolutely nothing for her

so she left. she felt bad ditching the plan but the girl had never had much impulse control. she worked side jobs for months on end until she could afford a plane ticket to greece, just desperate for something new which is how she wound up in litochoro, feeling a pull to the place way more than she had felt a pull towards school or soccer even tough she has no memories of being a diety

works as a mechanic during the day and tries to start street races at night. she still gets antsy but working with her hands is better than school and she’s found new competitions to throw herself in

hugely competitive don’t start with her

she’s used to victories, and usually she gets them, which has made her very reckless and foolish. she doesn’t think about consequences, even when her actions can wind up affecting more than just her

she’s fun to hang around but at what cost

will party had just as long as it doesn’t jeopardize the things she cares about

very athletic. she likes going to the gym, running, lifting, hiking, whatever. 

bisexual but doesn’t get attached to people well. she’s almost more focused on the next game or prize or fight she has to work for and while she loves having companions actually becoming loyal to someone isn’t something she’s great with

she is a fun cheerleader and training partner though, even if she’ll ditch you three days later
