TEEN WOLF MEME // [1/1] Location ↪ Stiles’ Bedroom
"People seem to think that a rabid dog goes mad suddenly, but it’s gradual." - Chris Argent, 1x04 Magic Bullet

"There are five pups. One for each of the Stark children. The Dire Wolf is the sigil of your house. They were meant to have them."
lara gave a small, loose clap with the crowd, but she was still focused on the handsome stranger beside her. the way he looked at her, she could tell she was really making him think. well, that, and the fact she could read minds if she made eye contact with someone. anyone that looked in her pale violet eyes was c o m p l e t e l y unraveling. “that’s what i’m sayin’, yeah. and i’ve seen hell and then some because of it. but it’s definitely not all bad. i've used it to my advantage before.” she told him vaguely, turning her blonde head to meet the stranger’s eyes again, a smirk on her dark crimson lips. “why? wanna have your mind b l o w n? c’mon, let’s get out of here, huh?” and with a wink, she stood her 5’11”, 112 pound flawless and toned body up from the arena chair, looking down at him. “i'm lara, by the way.”
life was o d d but perseus already knew that very well, having seen many wonders the world had to offer. some more than brilliant but others not so much. what he had never directly seen was magic but things tended to HAPPEN with him and he could never explain what they were. it was something he d i d want to uncover and maybe this girl could help him. nodding his head, he knew it wasn't wise to go off with a stranger but she HAD told him her name and she didn't look scary like the serial killers he had seen in films. "okay - let's see it then," he murmured, standing up himself, holding out his hand to shake hers. "i'm perseus but you can call me percy if you want. my name is kind of hard."
W H Y . W H Y W H Y !!!
no. this wasn’t the way her life was supposed to end, alison wouldn’t LET IT end this way. after all of the death & despair & dangers of her past this was supposed to be her c h a n c e to M O V E O N . to laugh like a normal person with her friends, to drive with MALIA & playfully teach her while she taught her what to do. for GOD’S SAKE, even just going to the movies and drowning popcorn in butter. all the l i t t l e t h i n g s that she missed out on for most of her teen years while she was being tortured by an anonymous source that always seemed to be one step ahead of her. now LIFE was one step ahead of her; literally. a desperate, distressed voice sliced right through her thoughts, and her body spun and whirled as her hopeful eyes landed on malia. M A L I A , who — could she actually SEE her? her eyes widened, running towards the table where the doctors were crowding her and fighting like hell to push through. FIGHTING, like she wouldn’t care if getting to malia was the last thing she ever did. but she WOULD get there.
❛ MALIA! NO! GET AWAY FROM HER! i NEED to TALK to her! why isn’t anyone listening to me! M A L I A ! ❜
long after the doctors mumbled something about sedatives, alison was still screaming, as if she would get an answer when she knew by now they had all made sure she wouldn’t. they’d taken her HOPE that malia could actually see her and ripped it to shreds.
the waiting game was M I S E R A B L E .
but alison sat next to malia’s bed, gripping her hand tightly.
& she waited. PRAYED.
the longer she laid there, the more the haze began to life from over her and she felt she could breathe again. it wasn't her body kicking into its healing mode, though, it was s o m e t h i n g else and she wasn't exactly sure what. this wasn't anything new for malia - there were plenty of things she didn't understand and it was so difficult to catch up and feel as if she was on the same level as everyone else. but she wasn't one to quit and she wasn't about to right now. alison NEEDED her and she was going to get back to her. in the break between life and death, malia awoke with a gasp, her actual body still resting on the bed motionless. it was a split in the conciousness, a pull towards where alison was waiting next to her. "alison?" malia questioned softly, reaching out to try and touch her, eyes falling on her b o d y. it was jarring and she had to quickly rip her eyes away. and when her body started to stir, the luminance form of malia started to fade. she could only see alison when she was asleep or pulled under by something. this was going to make things difficult. "you've got to keep fighting, alison! you've got to make it back. you're in a coma."
i. braeden & stiles.
She’s almost tempted to repeat herself: that sounds exhausting. All this research and planning and extra work and all this shit. It’s just unnecessary. Sure, she’s capable of it, but what’s the kid going to do with it? Tell someone. Tell someone and probably get run over, get himself thrown into something, or otherwise in danger while someone else does the fighting. It’s useful, she guesses in the long run. Scott’s kinda thick sometimes, he kind of needs a hand.
But if it makes him happy, if he keeps him from making her slam his head into that whiteboard, she’ll let him have at it. She hasn’t cosigned to help or anything. He hasn’t asked her any questions and she won’t supply anything other than, ” I don’t have any ‘pals’. And I don’t concern myself with such details until they become my problem, or client.”
Stiles annoys her by virtue of being a teenager, but Stiles himself isn’t that bad. Mostly because he doesn’t talk to her. She does somewhat empathize, as unhappy as she is to be able to do that. To be human and have no offensive skills (other than a bat, she’s been told) while everything and everyone else around you is dangerous and scary. She’s felt that way before. Not prolonged like it has with him, she’s adjusted. Hell, she’s had to, or she’d die. She wonders, while watching him move around and keep himself busy, which one of them is truly better off. Her with her shotgun and survival instincts, or him with his whiteboard and Batman-ing.
” Just don’t hurt yourself over there, Detective.”
when it came to a world filled with claws, snarls and killing, being human wasn't the most i d e a l of all possible things. it meant being more vulnerable and fallible to the more dangerous of the situations, meaning any way to get a leg up was highly important. for stiles, it was researching and attempting to know everything there was to know about what he WAS dealing with and COULD deal with. sometimes those they faced didn't know the smaller details or the possibilities. they knew what they were taught and it was usually more direct. ( this helped stiles a lot but he needed to be more prepared next time and all the times after that. he wasn't foolish enough to believe they were safe now. ) "are you ever curious about what else is out there? what your new job could give to you?" stiles turned to look at her for a moment, thoughtfully, in fact. "how close did you get to the desert wolf? did you ever actually SEE her?" he could probably ask peter but that meant going back to t h a t place and stiles refused. plus, he didn't think peter would give him a warm reception since they put him in there in the first place.
i. texting ; stiles & derek.
[text] I get it, you care about me. [text] I care about you, too, though. [text] And to be quite honest, your opinion isn’t more valid than mine.
( sms ; stilinski ); it doesn't change anything. ( sms ; stilinski ); you need to stay where it is safer.

"Putting my life back together? Really? I wasn’t aware anything’s wrong with my life, except for, you know, you shutting me out.”
[He released a frustrated sigh, arms crossed in front of his chest. He most definitely wouldn’t give in, either. This would be a damn long night.]
"It’s a good thing I’m an adult who can make his own decisions, isn’t it? So maybe I’ll just accidently bump into you on your way to wherever, and you won’t be able to do shit about it.”
sometimes stiles really drove derek insane and this was one of those moments. the guy was nearly more stubborn than he was and that was saying something. growling under his breath, derek took a small step back. "all the shit that has happened in this town, if you aren't influenced by it and need time to put yourself back on solid ground then we have bigger issues." the second part of what he had to say had derek groaning and throwing his hands up in the air. "i hope you know you sound all of five and fine if you want to come then you need to learn to fight. it it non-negotiable. if we get separated in some way, i need to know you can take care of yourself and hold your own."
…be everything you want to be. (x)
