In the lifestyle-rap scene, Curren$y has taken on the role of godfather. Forefathers of lifestyle rap; AZ, Ghostface, The Chef (Raekwon), Styles P & Co. have all set a solid blueprint for the seasoned MC to assert his dominance. When thinking about Curren$y's run over the past 8 years, dominance isn't the only word to ring about; CONSISTENCY is. In a 2 year span, (2008, 2016) Curren$y managed to shell out 20+ albums/projects; all garnering rave reviews and exciting hard-core JET-LIFE listeners as well as bringing in New ears to the JLR listening fam. As a result of Spitta Andretti's consistent project releases, he has managed to build one of the strongest internet followings. His JET life family often times remind you of distant relatives that run into each other randomly and says "wait. How do you know so and so? That's ya cuz???? Wow! That's my cuz too!" Finding out someone Bumps Currren$y, is like running into a long lost relative that you Instantly connect with on almost every aspect/outlook of life. Curren$y continues to further the blueprint on how to move in a room full of vultures (s/o Jigga man). Label execs were forced to collaborate with he and his vision vs completely strip him of his musical integrity, and Rob him of future earnings for an eternity. He also managed to put himself in a position to give his patnas a chance to shine. Within the past two years, 3 of JLR'S (JET Life Recordings) major Playas decided to remove the JET LIFE stamp from their journey and get busy on their own. LE$, Young Roddy and Trademark all started their own imprints in the hip hop game in the same fashion Curren$y moved away No Limit x Cash money (Respectfully). Even with the absence of his long standing homies, he managed to add on T.Y. (Son of a Gangsta), Young Juvie (Juvenile's son), Tiny C. $Tyle (FREE THE GUY); all the while still rocking heavy with OG JETS I. Mr. Marcelo, FIEND and Fendi (Corner Boy P). Even though Curren$y now sports an engagement ring, the New Orleans rapper isn't showing signs of slowing down with the music. He most recently solved legal issues with Dame Dash and began to tease the idea of putting his famous Pilot Talk series together for fans and present them on iTunes as The Pilot Talk Trilogy. With that being said, THE Pilot Talk Trilogy is finally here! Which Pilot Talk installment is your favorite? PT1? PT2? PT3? Give me some signal! The Personal favorite of mine has to be PT1 simply because of what it represents; being independent and starting your own brand! This was one of the first album Curren$y released post Cash Money. The nostalgia that this album brings to the table embarked over into both parts 2 and 3. Without the first edition, we never get to the latter. Enjoy this Trilogy and never forget: Start a business, mind your own. JETs at ya Neck! 🤙🏾🤙🏾 [Fun fact: I bought PT3 for $100. It was the collector edition that came in a commemorative JET LIFE USB, a long sleeve PT3 shirt and a spring/summer look-book 🔥🔥💪🏾]
