Had a dream that markiplier was struck by lightning and imbued with electrical abilities. People were encouraging him to use his powers for good but he just went back to playing videogames. All the videos were about three minutes long because as soon as he got jumpscared there'd be a brilliant blue flash and he'd fry his computer.

so fun fact it turns out showing iron lung to a fully red-green colorblind person who perceives dark or pure reds as basically black is the number 1 way to confuse them. on a related note, this is my public apology to my husband, the love of my life, who sat in a theater watching Nothing for two hours to make me happy. and then in the car hesitantly asked "so... could you explain everything that just happened?"

I really liked that you kind of latch onto the second guy on the comms, he and simon even build up a little bit of a rapport, and this is after the radiation accident and things are so fucked

But then it's AVA who actually bucks against orders and decides to treat Simon like he's human. That he is worth it actually. And the complete 180 the other guy does and it's like ... oh. They were all lying to you. No one believed you. No one thinks you're human.

The thing about Iron Lung. The thing about Iron Lung. Is it's indie. So it doesn't have to care what you think about it. No one came in and said "oh, they'll want answers, explain some of this." No one came in and said "aw, theyre gonna like simon, give him a happier ending." No one came in and said "you're going to bore them, make it wittier."

And if that's not your thing it's just not your thing. And that's not a bad thing - I will argue it's a good thing. Because movies want to be for everyone and it makes them weaker. It makes them bland.

Iron Lung is a very specific type of suspense, it's a specific type of horror, it's a specific type of tragedy. If it isn't your thing, you won't like it. And I think we need more movies that some people just won't like.
