sorry i kind of disappeared for a bit, i've been struggling with low confidence really bad but i'm trying to push through and keep uploading original songs, I think I'm finally starting to find my voi

I haven’t posted in a while, because I’ve been falling into a loop of self-analysis and criticism when it comes to creation, which is quite contrary to what this blog is about. I try to stay fairly anonymous on here, because it’s a safe space for me to share without judgment to my heart’s content. 

I do feel like I should share my soundcloud, where I post more “polished” or “structured” music. I’m trying to find a way to marry my two creative worlds: the one where I am free to create what I want, and the one where I desire to relate to others through my creations.

Anyways, I recorded this yesterday. It came out of a place of me that is both curious and devastated by the human need to consume senselessly and without awareness. I couldn’t quite think of a chorus for this one, so I recorded many layers of my voice and distorted them to create a type of ambience and rhythm. The thing I’m most proud of is how the abstraction right before the third verse contrasts the ultra-harmonic and flowing sound that follows.

I’ve been experimenting with different outlets to express my creativity. The other day, I was in my closet with my recording equipment, and where I would normally record something resembling a traditional song structure, with a chorus, verses, etc., I decided to lay down a droning track and do some intuitive singing over it. 

I actually really like how the arrangement turned out, and think it’s fascinating that a cohesive-sounding arrangement came from just one take per vocal part, and no prior planning. It was such a lovely reminder that we are capable of so much more than we think, and we are connected to a network of knowledge far beyond what we are capable of understanding.

I’ve struggled with freeing my creativity and intuition for years, always critical of what comes out of me and leaving me feeling stifled and dampened.

Recently, I’ve begun a practice of automatic/intuitive singing, where I pick a drone sound and create a melody and words around it. Sometimes they come out coherent, and sometimes they are gibberish and I have no idea where they’ve come from. I’ve heard this referred to as “channeling” or “light language” as well.

It’s been a very useful tool in exploring and learning to trust my inner voice. I do this in my car where no one can hear me, so I apologize for the poor audio quality, but I’ve decided to share here and hopefully inspire others to fearlessly express their inner light. 

Remember, your creations, whatever they may be, do not need to look, sound, taste, feel, or smell any kind of way :) There are no rules when it comes to the sacred art of creation <3

I would also like to say, this is no longer going to be an aesthetic blog. I came back here to find an outlet for my thoughts, creations, channelings, and overall to kindle a relationship between my inner creative spirit, and aid it's manifestation and recognition as something concrete. At the center, though, I need help to overcome my fear of being seen as what I am.

This will look like a lot of things, perhaps random posts like this occasionally. Other times poetry, automatic writing, art, recordings of intended songs or experimentation with improvised/soul channeled music. Follow along if you would like to help create and encourage a safe space to share fragments of our truest selves in a way that is inherently loving and non-judgemental ❤🪐🐛
