I have my dog back <3 Well. She actually was my ex's dog. I gave her to him when she was a puppy. But she was just as much mine as well. I got her back a few weeks ago actually, but it was a pretty emotional time for me and I'm just now calming down from it. I hadn't seen her since mid November. When he brought her outside, she shrieked and ran right to me and it was amazing. She couldn't press herself close enough to me. Some issues came up with my mom that day, and for now, she is living with a friend of mine. But I'm there every day to see her (and hang out with my friend too, I guess. Haha), and I take her to my moms during the day on weekends so she can be with me more. The past two days I've slept at my friends house during the day (I work third shift, so sleep during the day) due to the extra noise at my moms from her being off work this week and this little pooch has loved cuddling up to me. I tend to stay there on the weekends too. I didn't realize how much I really did miss her. She safe now and happy and being taken care of and that has really done a lot for me. The ex called the day after I picked her up and asked how she was and he was crying. No sympathy from me though. He let her go hungry at times. He didn't bathe her at all or meet any of her other basic grooming needs. He ignored her and left her alone for days on end while he stayed at his new girlfriends place just half a block away. He didn't take her for walks or car rides. But the letting her go hungry was the real kicker. When I got her (and the cat too. No pictures of him just now...let's just say he weighs half of what he did weigh. Poor guy was getting fed less often than the dog), I was supposed to get her Friday or Sunday, he would let me know. Never heard from him. Monday morning he asks if I can come get them. I'm there in less than 20 minutes. As I'm leaving he tells me they are probably hungry, he ran out of food for them Saturday morning. I can't figure out why he didn't have me get them that Friday as planned if he knew he'd be out of their foods on Saturday. Or at least let me get them Sunday morning. But no. He let them go hungry. When he broke up with me, I told him if they ever needed anything, not to hesitate to let me know and I would make sure they had it. Apparently calling me to ask for food would have caused issues with the new GF. But he can still call me up any time he pleases to bitch about how I'm going about my life and how he thinks I'm trying to actively ruin his and a bunch of other crap that he has made up in his mind to remove blame from himself (he cheated on me with a girl he is old enough to be the father of. This is his new GF. He also stole $300 from my checking acct the day before he broke up with me). She's okay with him calling me for stupid stuff like that, but not to let me know the animals need food. Winner. And as for her living with a friend of mine. I really hope said friend knows how much I appreciate it. He was in the car with me when my mom started screeching about how she didn't want this dog in her house and she was to be an outdoor only dog. She's 9. She weighs 7 lbs. She spends 98% of her time in a pile of blankets. She is housebroke. She was going to be staying in just my bedroom. This was after my mom previously said it was okay for me to have her... He told me to bring her along to his house. Then he said she could stay there a couple of weeks while I tried to figure something out or get my mom to chill or something. Then a couple of nights later while I was at work, he messaged me and let me know that she could stay there indefinitely. I think I cried for a solid hour. I never would have asked him to see if she could stay there at all, and he's a self proclaimed "not a pet person". So for him to offer that means a lot. I've got some extra money coming to me soon, so I'm going to get him a thank you card and probably just shove some cash in there and make him take it. But I've got my Cricket back. Even if she isn't at the house with me. She's still with me or near me a good part of every day. And she's happier and healthier and getting to go do stuff she loves.
