          CRIMSON stained hands ( courtesy of whoever brought a bucket of fake blood with them ) gripping the wall, nara peers out from her little corner, bunny ears poking out as she eyes the intoxicated stranger headed their way. they walk past her and she follows them, edging closer and closer before whispering into their ear “ trick or treat ?? ” in the creepiest voice she can muster in her current state. this sends them screaming, stumbling back down the stairs and away from her. laughing, she skips back to her corner but trips over her own feet in the process. “ oh fuck — ” she manages to blurt out before she lands on her ass, her will to not fall on her front and destroy her mask stronger than the damn laws of physics.

THERE had to be a bathroom somewhere, and hansol was on the hunt. he couldn’t find it for five minutes, and he needed to pee. he contemplated peeing in some dead flowers because they definitely didn’t mind. he wandered the halls and was careful not to run into anything creepy. missed him with that ghost shit. finally he had found the bathroom, and when he came out he didn’t expect seeing anyone else there, but upon hearing the girl’s voice he felt his heart beat faster with a scream escaping his lips. “nara, what the fuck!” he was so tempted to rip off her bunny mask and throw it on the ground, but decided not to because it was more cute than scary. “yea, i was hoping i wouldn’t run into you, but here we are! you saw the guy who drank 4 shots and threw up? that was me.” he smiled, not proud of it, but it was funny because everyone warned him not to drink them in the first place. 

          GIGGLING underneath the mask at his expected outburst, she pokes at his costume with her free hand in curiosity. after all, it’s not everyday you see someone dressed up as a whole friend chicken. “ is this like an actual mascot for your fried chicken place that you stole or did you spend actual money — wow, rude !! ” she takes a bite out of the brownie from under the mask before offering the rest to him. “ 'was busy. someone probably caught it on snapchat or instagram though, i’ll check later. ” then, she laces her fingers with his in a VICE-LIKE grip which is surprising considering how fucking high and tipsy she is, dragging the giant fried chicken down the hallway. “ but for now, you are gonna go ghostbusting with me, colonel sanders. ” she smiles, leaving no room for objection whatsoever.

          THIS WAS NOT A party for the living and cassia had noticed it even before she had stepped into the location. a graveyard was not a place for a social gathering for anyone who was still breathing, and the energy present in this house made even her feel w a r y. she didn’t have the privilege of telling herself that it was just an urban LEGEND, just a story to be shared around campfires, and when she entered it was with her head low as if ashamed that she was even setting foot in a home that wasn’t hers. «sorry,» she whispered to no one in particular, not caring if anyone heard her rather outlandish comment.

          LOUNGING on the couch with her mask safely tucked under her left arm and a vibrant blue drink in her right hand, nara watches an ongoing game of never have i ever with too much interest for someone who only knows less than half the people in the circle. when she finally draws her attention away from the circle, she spots her neighbour entering the mansion and gets up, picking up another drink on her way. “ cass !! ” she grins, lips stained berry blue and all. offering her a radioactive purple drink, nara hooks arms with cassia, sober enough to notice the other’s demeanour. “ don’t worry your pretty head off too much about all this — but if you wanna get them to chill, we can try something, i guess. ”

          AT this point, nara’s already a few drinks and half an edible ( those were definitely not just brownies ) into the night. so, she found herself turning away from the crowd, putting on her bunny mask, and heading upstairs to investigate the supposed haunted floors in this inebriated daze. with the other half of the edible in one hand, she skips down the hallways while humming a tune and she spots a lone fried chicken a few steps away from her, seemingly unaware of her presence. “ you hoe !! ” she yells in english, skipping towards him. “ so this is where you’ve been hiding from me all night, huh ?? ”

this holiday, if you could actually call it that, never appealed very much to haji. if it weren’t for the copious amount of girls wearing costumes that showed more skin than strictly necessary, she would’ve just stayed home tonight. she supposes though, that certain people had also pushed her off her couch tonight & she just so happens to spot one of those people standing just a few feet from her. with a small smile to herself, haji approaches the other’s back slowly & then pounces, suddenly gripping both their shoulders & yelling out “ boo ! ” maybe she was finally getting into the halloween MOOD.

          HOLDING back during this holiday is never an option for nara. if anything, she put more effort into the holiday than any of her past and current interests. the crowded room’s heat finally gets to her and she removes the eerie bunny mask, fixing her hair as she looks around for the drinks table, eager to get some more alcohol in her system. when a familiar voice startles her in the middle of her search, she lets out a yelp and turns around, an accusatory yet harmless glare directed towards the other girl. “ look at you, about time you attempt to scare this shit outta someone. ”

PEACEFUL would have been an understatement to describe hansol’s afternoon. he had taken a long bath, just calmly laying there turning into a raisin . he came out after falling asleep and freaking out over the fact that he couldn’t breathe since his face was under the water. after the bath, hansol had started to calmly sketch in his notebook. s o f t music was always playing in the apartment, with an occasional [ pop ] song. he never had exciting days when he was by himself, but he didn’t hate that. sometimes you just need to r e l a x , right? hansol jumped extremely easily, and the sudden bell was enough for him to be put on edge. the familiar voice calmed his nerves, though, and he finished lighting the fireplace before opening the door with a wide grin. ❝well if it isn’t chicken girl. i can’t believe i’m being blessed by your presence,❞ he gestured for her to enter, ❝i’m down for a good movie and snacks, i’ll get some blankets so we can turn the living room into a cozy movie theatre.❞

          SHE returns his grin with a smile of her own, walking in and setting the plastic bag full of snacks on the coffee table. everything was going according to plan. “ i’ll set up the snacks and the movie then. ” she replies, taking out the crisps and popcorn out from the bag. when he’s out of the living room, nara slides in the cd into the dvd player and stuffs the case of a tale of two sisters back into her bag. “ we’re watching lilo and stitch, alright ?? ” she calls out and resumes arranging the snacks on the table with a knowing smirk on her face, waiting on the couch for her friend to return when she’s done. “ who knows, nani and lilo’s sisterly love could help trigger some inspiration for my novel. ”

          CURIOUS GAZE FOLLOWED the movement of the claw as the woman picked up a rather big panda instead. qiqiang had only asked for the small stuffed animal because he in all honesty felt bad about the losses the arcade was already SUFFERING from one night, but it was an irreversible act and he smiled instead as he received the panda. «this won’t even fit in my bed,» he chuckled lightly. «thank you. we’re gonna get kicked out soon, ya know.»

          GRINNING, she turns around to wave at the staff member watching them, snickering when they straightened up and turned to walk away. “ they’re harmless, trust me. if they wanted to kick us out, they would’ve done that ages ago. ” she says in attempt to reassure him, picking up the worried tone in his voice. she links arms with him and begins heading for the machines with tickets as the prize with a mischievous glint in her eyes. “ okay, we’ll stop with the claw machines. let’s go get some tickets instead. ”

          HORROR film hidden in her bag and unhealthy snacks she got from the convenience store across the street packed in a plastic bag, nara steps inside the elevator of the apartment complex, humming a tune to herself despite the few other strangers in the same lift with her. with only a few days left till the big day ( not her birthday, no, this day was more important than that ), it was only about time to start preparations, which in her dictionary, meant impromptu horror movie sessions with a preferably pushover friend. when the lift stops at the right floor, she steps off, but not before offering the strangers a bow with a cheeky grin. walking down the corridor, she stops before hansol’s door and rings the doorbell. “ open up, BABYFACE !! i have goodies and a totally child-friendly film with me. ”
