The yellow wall lichen, or common orange lichen (lat. Xanthoria parietina) is also called: yellow scales, shore lichen, zolotyanka.

It is important to note that common orange lichen is an epiphytic lichen; that is, although it grows on bark and branches, it does not parasitize them and does not draw sap from them. It obtains water, air, mineral substances, and sunlight independently. And the more sunlight it receives, the brighter the yellow scales become ☀️

Ксанторию настенную (лат. Xanthoria parietina) также называют обыкновенным оранжевым лишайником, жёлтой чешуйкой и золотянкой.

Важно заметить, что золотянка — эпифитный лишайник, то есть хотя и растущий на коре и ветвях организм, но не паразитирующий на них и соки не высасывающий. Воду, воздух, минеральные вещества и солнечный свет он добывает самостоятельно. И чем больше солнечного света, тем золотянка ярче☀️
