In Usher pt 3 it is never says what book Edger is reading to Lady Usher (I assume it’s supposed to be the Arabian Nights?). I was thinking about the Great Comet and how it’s based off Book 8 of War and Peace. So I thought “I wonder if there are any significant ties to comet or ghost quartet in book 7 chapter ten of war and peace?”.

This is what I found. The part that inspired the lyrics “we’ve done this all before. we were angels once, don’t you remember?” from No One Else. Also the last line, “the soul is immortal–well then, if I shall always live I must have lived before, lived for a whole eternity.” Has major gq vibes.

“We’ve done this all before” line is used later in Usher pt 3.

The war and peace/great comet and Ghost Quartet parallels intensify. I like the theory that Sonya and Mary are just more reincarnations of Rose and Pearl. In War and Peace Sonya and Mary both fall in love with the same man. In the original cast of comet Dave Malloy played Pierre. At the beginning of w&p Pierre, Anatole, and Dolokhov get into some shenanigans involving a bear.
