OC Division Blog || OITA DIVISION || Owner: @hypster-weebster
地獄Riderz is the Ōita Division representative (male) rap group. The team consists of the Spirit Medium Ishihara Daisuke🪬, an errand wild child Sen🧦, and their leader, Auto Mechanic Teijo Masakazu🔧
DESCRIPTION:
There is nothing special about this team of a mechanic raising his long lost nephew who went missing for over 12 years and a medium who got kicked out from his religious family, becoming neighbors with them. They don’t have any personal goal to participate division rap battle, rather they would go after the prize money, crush other divisions + Chuokhu, then went straight back home because that’s what they’re going to do for now
Their team name was used from a notorious Bosozoku (biker gang) that their leader used to be part of. Scratch the earlier part, probably use the prize money to restore his old biker glories to a better one
TRIVIA:
地獄Riderz symbol is a head of an Oni and each members wears a tattoo in their persons with different respective colors as Teijo’s tattoo is a blue Oni on his front shoulder while Sen has an orange Oni on his right ankle and finally, Ishihara has a yellow oni on his nape
The team’s hand signs is an animal claw hands as they open their hand then bend all of their fingers like were it use to scare people away.
The division symbol of the map from Hoodstar/+ is an Oni
Their kind of music style is inspired of mixed Japanese folk & metal
Ōita is a prefecture in the southern island of Kyushu and has earned a reputation as “Onsen Prefecture” for it’s famous and abundance of hot springs. One of the most famous hot spring resorts within the city, Beppu, attracts a lot of visitors with diverse bathhouse. Especially, the popular touring attraction is Beppu’s 8 hells of hot springs
The word 地獄 (jigoku) means “Hell” in japanese
The team lived in a same location of n ordinary apartment but they usually love to chill and hangout at the nearest onsen
“When you look into an abyss, the abyss also looks into you”

Timeline
Age 0
Born to the only child to Shinji and Ine Nabatani in Higashikunisaki, Ōita.
Has an uncle, Teijo Masakuza who occasionally babysits him but he is struggling to care for a baby.
His father was approached by a mysterious individual and was recruited to take part on a certain project.
He works at a government-funded research facility. Unaware of its purpose, he believes he is contributing to a peaceful future.
Suddenly suffers constant memory loss and unusual behavior during his time in that place.
Soon discovers that he’s been selected as a human test subject for the secret True Hypnosis Mic project.
He secretly gathers evidence and plans to expose the project to the public.
Was caught in action and meets Rei Amayado face-to-face but is forcibly subjected to the True Hypnosis Mic, partially brainwashing him and suppressing his memories.
Continuously working in between for Rei, his job, and returning home to his loving family as if nothing ever happened on that day.
Age 1
Pieces of his father’s memory slowly return. He can no longer bear the secret and guilt from his wife so he tells her everything about his involvement.
Knowing the family is no longer safe, they hastily fled their home with their toddler.
They drive in the middle of nowhere in panic then, the lingering effects of the True Hypnosis Mic overwhelms his father and causes him to lose control of the car.
Their car crashes through the guardrail and plunges off the cliff.
His parents dies.
Sen is separated from his parents and lands on a hard surface below, suffering only minor injuries.
Three hikers later discover the wreckage of the vehicle and the bodies of the Nabatani couple. They immediately contact the police and report the accident.
Meanwhile, one of the members of Rei’s development team considers Shinji a failed test subject. Determined to conceal every trace of his involvement, they erase all records and data concerning Shinji, effectively making him disappear from the public record and leaving his fate unknown.
The case of the accident has been fabricated with authorities claiming that Shinji had committed a robbery and fled from the scene, taking his wife, Ine as hostage before they both died in the crash.
For several days, he cries continuously and desperately calling for his parents. However, no person ever hears his cries.
One day, a troop of macaques discovers him and leads him toward their shelter.
The macaques do not harm him but instead, they gradually accept him and allow him to stay with the troop.
Grows attached to them and happily plays with the younger macaques. He keeps following the troop wherever they go.
Age 2
Learns to walk, climb, and move through the forest by watching the macaques.
Age 4
Begins observing other animals and copying their behavior.
Tries eating insects for the first time and slowly learns which foods are safe.
He once witnesses a pack of wolves chasing after a deer and eats it, horrifyingly. That’s where he learns the concept of hunting.
Grows feral and adapt completely to life in the wilderness, relying on his instincts.
Age 7
Climbs a tall tree and gazes across the beautiful horizon, captivated by the vast world beyond the forest. For the first time, he begins to wonder what lies on the other side and longs to see it for himself.
Discovers a fox caught in a hunter’s bear trap who is badly injured and struggling to escape.
He carefully frees the fox.
Feeling sympathy for the fox’s state, he takes it to his abode. He treats its wounds and leaves food & water for it to recover.
Been staying with the fox by their side as days pass.
When he wakes up from a nap, the fox disappears into the forest perhaps right after it recovers.
Age 8
A bear attacks the troop and kills one of the macaques.
Feeling terrified, he tries fighting back and manages to kill it with a sharp stone.
Skins it off and eats the meat, beginning to understand that killing can sometimes be necessary to survive.
Gradually becomes more independent from the macaque troop.
Bids farewell to the macaques and travels around the forest.
During a violent storm, he searches for shelter until he discovers a small, empty cave. He takes refuge inside and eventually decides to make it his new home.
Learns to make simple tools from wood and stone.
Eventually, he crafts a crude spear and begins hunting and exploring the wilderness on his own.
Begins having recurring nightmares of his parents plunging from a cliff. He wakes up frightened and confused. He didn’t understand that the visions are fragments of his forgotten past.
Suddenly cries out of nowhere for the longest time.
Spend his everyday life hunting and save other harmless animals from dangers or predators, considering himself a protector.
Age 9
Hears a gunshot while exploring the forest and discovers two human hunters—the first people he has ever seen.
Secretly follows them to their campsite and watches them from a safe distance.
To his surprise, the men seem to be enjoying themselves in doing decent camping activities like chopping firewood, cooking meals, fish, telling jokes, and laughing together.
Starts to believe that they might be good people after seeing their friendly behavior.
Whenever the men leave the campsite, he quietly sneaks in and examines their belongings and sometimes, he plays with the unfamiliar objects for a while before carefully putting them back.
As the days pass, he becomes increasingly fascinated by the two men. He grows fond of them and secretly wishes he could approach them but his fear of being discovered keeps him at a distance.
Until one day, everything changes when he witnesses the men cruelly killing a harmless animal simply for entertainment. Shocked and furious, he realizes that their kindness was only superficial.
Overcome with anger, he takes an axe from the campsite, ambushes the two men from behind and kills them. He then decapitates their bodies using an axe he saw and places their heads on sharpened wooden stakes while leaving the rest of their remains to be eaten by wild animals.
Feels no satisfaction or sense of victory. Instead, he is deeply disappointed that the first humans he ever admired could be so cruel to a defenseless creature.
Buries the animal with care and quietly returns to the wilderness and decides that he wants nothing to do with humans.
Age 10
Encounters the same fox again he saved 2 years ago.
As he travels through the wilderness, he and the fox keep meeting up constantly.
The fox gradually becomes comfortable around him and begins following him from a distance.
Occasionally shares his food with it, while the fox helps him locate small prey and water and so, the fox begins accompanying Sen regularly during his travels.
Decides to name it “Funi” as he describes it to be cute and fluffy.
They hunt and explore together, gradually developing trust and companionship.
Age 12
One day, he is discovered by the rescue team.
Immediately tries to flee but the rescuers manage to subdue him before he can escape.
Is taken into custody and transported to a hospital in Ōita city while Funi secretly follows them.
He reunites with his uncle, Teijo Masakuza for so many years however, he does not remember him and becomes frightened and defensive around him. Teijo tries to approach and comfort him but he keeps his distance and views him as a complete stranger.
When the medical staff attempts to examine him, he becomes aggressive and growls at them, attempting to bite anyone who comes too close.
He scratches and bites a nurse on the arm and lashes out several others before being restrained.
Over the following days, he undergoes proper medical treatment and has calmed down a bit while the staff gradually work to earn his trust.
Is getting used to his presence around whenever Teijo visits him and stays by his side, regularly.
His physical and mental condition has been improved and is stable enough to leave the facility.
Teijo becomes his legal guardian and takes him into his car.
He is currently living with his uncle in an apartment and starting a new life together.
He and Funi found each other.
Been taught by Teijo in learning modern society like basic vocabularies, social manners, history, and practicality.
Likes going to the dumpster and scavenging interesting junks.
Getting used to adapting to modern society but continues to struggle with memory and understanding.
Ables to speak, though he habitually refers to himself in the third person.
Gradually grows closer to Teijo. They form a genuine uncle-nephew bond and he finally understands what family is like.
Age 13
Hears hip-hop music playing from a street-side shop and is immediately drawn to its strong beat and rhythm.
Eventually develops a strong interest in music as he begins using it as a way to express feelings.
Notices Teijo is struggling financially and often worries about paying for their daily needs.
Wanting to help his uncle, he decides to find small ways to earn money and begins doing simple errands and odd jobs around the neighborhood.
One day, he and Teijo went shopping together until they stumbled upon Ishihara Daisuke, who is starving to death on the sidewalk and takes pity on him.
Teijo treats Ishihara to a meal and hears about his difficult situation.
Easily takes pity on him and urges his uncle to help Ishihara find a place to live.
Would sometimes visit Ishihara’s home to spend time there after Teijo asked him to look after Sen whenever he was busy.
Despite his unpleasant personality, he treats Sen well and considers him as his second uncle.
Age 15 - Present
Running around the city doing errands work.
While resting near a dumpster, a black box suddenly flies overhead and lands nearby. He picks it up out of curiosity and brings it home to Teijo.
After examining it, they discover that the box belongs to someone else so they decide to return it to its owner.
They struggle to find the owner then Teijo suggests seeking their neighbor, Ishihara for help who mayhaps happen to have any idea or connections.
Coincidentally, Ishihara recognizes the sender’s name as a former customer and helps them track down the owner.
The owner arrives with his goons and accuses the three of stealing the box so they challenge them to retrieve the box through a rap battle.
He grabs the box during the confrontation but accidentally drops it after being struck by a powerful rap verse.
The box opens and reveals three Hypnosis Mics, whose abilities are accidentally unleashed against the goons.
He, Teijo, and Ishihara manage to defeat them.
Teijo receives an email from the Party of Words to congratulate them and claims to have observed their potential. They invite the trio to participate in DRB with a large cash prize awaiting the winner.
Neither Teijo or Ishihara accepts the responsibility so they decide a silly game: whoever loses in ‘rock-paper-scissors' will be the official leader.
In the end, his uncle lost to Ishihara.
Doesn’t understand what’s going on but the only thing he cares about is he’s excited to participate in DRB and become a 2nd member of 地獄Riderz.

His growing obsession with cars begins affecting his studies, causing his grades to drop.
His father discovers Teijo’s car magazines, confiscates his belongings, and eventually sells them without telling him.
Feeling betrayed, he finally confronts his father that leads to their first serious argument.
His mother comforts him and assures him that she will always support his passion, even if his father refuses to.
Their father-son relationship begins to deteriorate as he becomes more determined to make his own choices.
Enters a rebellious phase of losing interest in school and frequently staying out late to escape the tension at home.
He begins skipping classes and falls in with the wrong crowd.
Age 9
One day, he bumps into someone and gets into a fight with a group of delinquents. He is badly beaten when his friends abandon him.
A member of 地獄Riderz intervenes and brings him to their base for treatment.
Despite their reputation as troublemakers, he discovers that the gang treats one another like family and values freedom, loyalty, and protecting their own.
Decides to join them and begins learning how to ride a motorcycle.
Eventually becomes an official member of 地獄Riderz, considering them his second family.
Age 11
Ine starts high school and gradually discovers her passion for painting.
During a mountain ride, a member’s motorcycle breaks down. He repairs it using only what he learned from books and magazines.
His friends are amazed by his natural mechanical talent and jokingly declares him their mechanic.
He teasingly brushes it off, saying it’s only a mere interest and hobby.
Age 13
Ine enters college to pursue art, choosing her own path despite their father’s original plans for her.
She goes out with her friends who wanted to attend a matchmaking party and where she meets Shinji Nabatani.

He repeatedly follows and challenges him for the following days with the determination to win a rematch until Hajime agrees to train him.
Goes to Hajime’s dojo as planned and meets a son, Ryuunosuke Sekiguchi, who became his first sparring partner and his playful rival.
Learns discipline, patience, humility through Hajime’s intense training and what it truly means to become stronger.
His rivalry with Ryuunosuke turns into genuine friendship.
After several weeks, he and his gang return to Ōita with a newfound perspective on life and a deep respect for Hajime.
Age 16
Hajime’s teachings motivate him to take responsibility for his future and become more serious about school.
Starts high school.
He begins attending school consistently and works hard while secretly remaining active with 地獄Riderz.
His father is surprised by his improved discipline but still disapproves of his rebellious attitude.
Age 18
Ine later becomes pregnant.
She asks Teijo to make a promise that he will look after her son once he’s born. He did not understand what she meant but agreed to honor her request and protect her son.
Smoothly able to graduate high school.
His father eventually discovers that he is still involved with 地獄Riderz, leading to another explosive confrontation.
Tired of years of conflict, he leaves home for good.
He stays between his friends’ homes and the gang’s base.
Can’t afford to go to college since he’s independent so he gives up that idea and works as an assistant mechanic suggested by his gang leader.
Ine gives birth to a son, Sen.
Visits the hospital and meets his newborn nephew for the first time, immediately developing a soft spot for him.
Occasionally babysits Sen and gradually becomes very attached to his nephew.
Over time, he becomes one of 地獄Riderz’s most dependable members of helping train younger members and defending the gang during conflicts.
His strength, loyalty, and experience eventually earn him the title “YAMA, the Demon Enforcer”.
However his growing reputation causes jealousy among several senior members who believe he has gained too much influence.
A rival gang exploits the tension and secretly recruits one of the disgruntled members to betray 地獄Riderz.
During a planned operation, a member is murdered and the news spreads that the jewels were stolen.
The traitors plant evidence linking both crimes towards Teijo, making it appear that he’s a criminal.
Even some of his closest friends begin doubting him.
Despite insisting that he was framed, he is stripped of his position as YAMA and abandoned by the people he once considered family.
He is arrested. Convicted of murder and theft. He is then sentenced to several years in prison.
His parents and Ine saw the news about Teijo. Both his mother and Ine suffers a heartbreak while his father felt angry and embarrassed of this outcome.
Age 19
Something went wrong with the Nabatani family due to ███████████ with ███████ ██████████ ███████████ and they were forced to flee from the city.
Three witnesses discovers ██████████████████████████████████ at the scene.
The Nabatani couple dies and their child is presumably missing.
Age 22
While he remains imprisoned, a new government law targeting all delinquent gangs is introduced.
地獄Riderz is officially disbanded, bringing an end to the gang.
Age 24
After serving five years, he is released from prison.
Curious about the current state of his old gang’s hideout, he returned to find it completely deserted.
He couldn’t forget what his trusted friends done to him in the past but he decides to move on to start his new life for himself and this is where he stops believing in anyone anymore.
Come across a flyer advertising a rental home and decide to move into an apartment, where he eventually settles in.
Starts his own business by opening a repair shop called “Teijo’s CARSH Shop”. He is now working as an automobile mechanic.
He then visited the Nabatani residence to check on his sister’s family, only to find the house seemingly empty.
A next-door neighbor informed him about the Nabatani couple’s fatal accident two years ago.
The neighbor explained that the circumstances remained unclear, mentioning that something had gone wrong within the Nabatani family before the tragedy. Without knowing anything, the news shocked him and left him devastated and believably blames his brother-in-law, Shinji.
He was then told that the Nabatani couple’s child was missing, as no remains were found during the investigation.
This gave him a bit hope that his nephew might still be alive somewhere.
He sought help from the police and search-and-rescue teams to locate his missing nephew.
Spent years desperately searching for him while struggling with his grief, often turning to alcohol as he remembered his final moments with his sister.
Age 26
is informed by the rescue team that his nephew has been found and immediately rushes to the hospital.
He reunites with Sen—now a 12-year-old boy however, his feral mental state being hostile and distrustful toward him.
Unsure of how to help, he continues visiting Sen at the welfare clinic and quietly supports his recovery.
Few months passed, Sen is released and begins living with him.
Raises Sen by himself and takes on a fatherly role of teaching him basic manners, social communication, and how to adjust to everyday life.
Sen slowly becomes more comfortable around him and he is determined to protect him as he keeps his promise to Ine.
The two have a peaceful life together.
As time passes by, he and Sen went on shopping until they stumbled upon Ishihara Daisuke, who is starving to the death on the sidewalk and takes pity on him.
He treats Ishihara to a meal and hears about his difficult situation.
At his nephew’s insistence, he helps Ishihara find a vacant apartment nearby.
He and Ishihara become neighbors and acquaintances.
Later realizes Ishihara had been playing them and immediately regrets helping him.
Age 29 - Present
Continues working as a mechanic at his repair shop although his past reputation keeps most customers away.
Sen brings home a strange black box he found and shows it to Teijo.
Upon investigating the box, he told Sen that it belongs to someone else and it must return to them.
They struggle to find the owner so they ask their neighbor, Ishihara for help.
Coincidentally, Ishihara recognizes the name of the sender who happens to be his previous customer and helps them track down the owner.
The owner suddenly appears with his goons. They accuse them of stealing their box so they order the goons to fight them in a rap battle.
When the box opens itself during the struggle, they discover three Hypnosis Mics and unknowingly unleashes their abilities against the goons .
He, Sen, and Ishihara manage to defeat them.
Receives an email from the Party of Words to congratulate them as they observe the trio’s great potential and informing them that they must participate in DRB and win the prize money.
The team discusses the leader role.
Neither he or Ishihara accepts the responsibility so they decide whoever loses in ‘rock-paper-scissors' will be the official leader.
In the end, he lost to Ishihara.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! 🎃 (2024 Halloween Group Costumes)
“ONI”
"I'm too old to go trick-or-treating with Sen, but dressing up as an Oni wasn’t so bad."
“Am I scary, uncle and uncle Ishihara? GAWR!!!”
"Ah yes, my favorite holiday. Halloween means more annoying ghosts. More ghosts means more customers and more customers means more cash, hehehe..."
You received a treat from 地獄Riderz!
Oni Fireballs. Red-hot candy orbs with a devilish kick, these candies are made to look like mini oni horns. They start with a sweet outer layer, but as you keep sucking, a wave of intense spiciness reveals the fiery rage of the Oni, leaving your mouth tingling with heat!
Spell - Teijo (more like does he believe in Daisuke’s ability?)
Mothman - Daisuke (Ishihara and his Ghostbuster experiences go brr)
Ghost - Sen
Spell: “do you believe in magic, or any sort of otherworldly powers?”
"I don’t believe in magic or supernatural bull**** and as for that greedy son of a b*** hmm…probably I do, probably I don’t but the fact that bastard likes to mess with me that I have some kind of ✌🏻attachment✌🏻 to spirits, saying that I have bad luck but it’s just a mere coincidence"
"At first, I thought he was just another scammer looking to swindle people but he’s actually a weirdo with a creepypasta fetish of his. Anyway, I don’t care much about his situation as long as he’s alright with living for himself and able to pay me back, you motherf*****!"
Ghost: “have you ever encountered a spirit or haunted place?”
"Never… but if Sen could see ghost, Sen and uncle would talk to Ma and Pa every day. That would make Sen… happy. But also sad… hurt, deep inside. Painful..."
Mothman: “do you know of any local urban legends, or is there an urban legend that really freaks you out?”
"There are countless haunted spots around Ōita and it’s f***ing hard to pick the scariest. Being able to see these things has become routine for me. Anyway, ever heard of the ‘Red String Ghost’? It’s a local legend about a woman’s spirit bound by a red string, left waiting for a lover who never returned. Rumor has it, if you’re alone and feel a sudden, cold tug on your wrist, never look down"
"If you see that red string, you’re marked, and she’ll follow you until you vanish into her world. They say mediums are especially prone to encountering her but personally, I avoid places she’s rumored to haunt. I carry blessed beads and make deals with friendly spirits to warn me. If a spirit like her won’t leave, I might even talk to it, find its weak spot"
"Sometimes, that’s all it takes to break the hold hehe~ and then…. Huh, I completely forgot what happened after that but I do remember that I got a cool-looking battle scar from her. That’s an achievement"
Do not ask me what this is and why I am posting it, this is yet another product of the insanity that goes on in our 18+ discord server
Credit to @toyama-division / @suginami-division for the idea! 😈
It’s no surprise that with the formation of the Division Rap Battles by the Japanese Government (also known as Chuohku), many teams have been formed either through coercion or by their own volition, with those teams come many high profile people or very prolific celebrities both old and young. As such, a betting ring was formed, by who? Well, no one knows, it could be from criminals to politicians to random civilians to even other contestants in the very same tournament, all that matters is that every person in the Division Rap Battles has a bounty on their head, this is a list of how much they’re apparently worth.
“Damn, those numbers could clear a lot of our debt… this really sucks for us.”
“Uncle Teijo, what “S” 100 means? Is it “Sen” 100 like high score? ✨”
“It’s not an ‘S’, Sen. It’s called a dollar sign. You know…like the currency in America that I taught you 3 years ago? Let’s see… if you convert that into yen, that puts a 15,000 yen price on your head.”
“So… money fall on Sen’s head? Sen is… rich now?”
“No, what I meant was…God, how should I say this to a 15 year old kid with the brain of a preschooler?”
“Oi, Ishihara! Come and help me explain Sen about how the Deadpool list thing works!!”
“Iwao….Masuda….THIS IS BULLSHIT!!! RIGGED I TELL YA!!! WHY IS THAT STUPID CLOWN GETS WAY WORTH A MILLION THAN ME?!?!”
“Uncle Ishihara. Angry….”
“Don’t scare Sen like that and really? That’s the only thing that upset you? Get over it, shitty medium”
“That clown is a complete fool. I can’t fathom why those Chuokhu bitches gave him such a high price. He’s not even that famous! What if I head to Sapporo, break into his house, and take him out myself for the grand reward? How does that sound?”
“Geez, what did that magician ever do to you? Even if you tried to take his life, it wouldn’t do you any good. Though, starting a new life in jail doesn’t sound like such a bad idea for you.”
“Everything! Well, mainly his occupation. I can’t stand magicians in general but Iwao is the one I despise the most. His fake cheerful personality and so-called ‘magic’ aren’t convincing at all. Claiming his magic is real and promising to make anyone’s dreams come true—like some fairy godmother nonsense. I’m the one who decides what’s real and what’s not.”
“Stop, killing not good….”
“Whatever, I’ll find another way to get noticed. Honestly, of all people, I can’t believe I lost to that purple nobody.”
“Uncle Ishihara, not a loser. He has big—bigger money than Sen. Sen is happy for Uncle Ishihara. So… don’t cry.”
“I wasn’t crying, and don’t try to sugarcoat things, kid. And yeah, I’m frustrated that your uncle has eight thousand dollars more than I do”
“I can’t blame you for feeling this way. I get it, Ishihara but you need to look at the bigger picture. There are people out there worth a ton of cash compared to us with the lowest value being nine thousand one hundred dollars.”
“Besides, we’ve only just started participating in rap battles. I doubt the governments have much information about us yet, so it’s going to take time for us to get noticed. That makes sense given our situation.”
“Uncle Teijo, you’re no angry, are you?”
“Honestly, I feel just as frustrated as Ishihara. I’m more than a little jealous of those other teams but I’m doing my best to be a rational leader. For now, we’re just a bunch of nobodies in this hellish world. On the bright side, we managed to beat those Wild Shīnu guys to the punch.”
“Sen thinks it’s understanding but Sen believe we will get biggest money in the world than everyone, after we fight and someday, it will make Uncle Teijo and Uncle Ishihara happy”
“Heh, that’s the spirit! But money isn’t my main concern. What I truly care about is how much you’ve been a good kid. However, we also need to prepare for what’s coming because of that ridiculous list. I’d like to see anyone who wants my head even try to come after me. They’ll regret ever stepping foot in my workshop”
I have nothing to lose. Sure, I’ll let them dare to come for me but they won’t see another day of light again when I’m done with those idiots”
“Yes…Sen, too! If someone hurt uncle, Sen will bite the enemies head off and protect uncle and uncle Ishihara…Sen promise”
“Thanks, Sen”
“Ugh, your sappy family bonding is so cringeworthy to watch…fuck it, I’m off to the bathhouse.
Hey, don’t just leave us out. We’re coming with you”

Tsushima Daisuke (47 years old) — Ishihara’s father. He is a senior priest and the head of a local shrine in Ōita. Wise, kind, and somewhat old-fashioned, he is highly respected in the community. The shrine, which has stood for generations has recently grown in popularity as many visitors come seeking blessings and good fortune, a Daisuke family legacy takes great pride in preserving it. When Ishihara was young, the two shared a close and loving father-son relationship. However, everything changed when Ishihara’s mysterious gift brought a series of strange misfortunes upon the family. Overcome by fear and shame, Tsushima gradually distanced himself from Ishihara, causing their bond to deteriorate. Although he was allowed to remain at home until he turned 20, his growing selfishness led to constant conflicts with his brothers. Believing it was the only way for him to change and Tsushima reluctantly forced him to leave with nothing to hope hardship would lead him to repent and mature
Kanae Daisuke † — Ishihara’s mother. She was originally arranged to marry Tsushima Daisuke but the two genuinely fell in love and were blessed with five sons. She worked alongside her husband in managing the family shrine and was known as a hardworking, gentle, and devoted mother. Unlike her husband, Aoi never feared Ishihara’s mysterious gift. She believed it may have been inherited from her own ancestors, who were said to perceive supernatural phenomena unseen by others. Despite the many misfortunes that befell the family, she loved Ishihara unconditionally, leaving him with countless cherished memories. Aoi tragically died after giving birth to her youngest son, Koutarou, leaving Daisuke to raise their five sons alone
Rindo Daisuke (31 years old) — Ishihara’s older brother and the eldest of the four brothers. After their mother’s death, he took on her responsibilities, helping manage the family shrine and eventually becoming their father’s most trusted son. Serious, hardworking, and blunt, Rindo is respected by the community and deeply devoted to his family—except for Ishihara. Rindo sees Ishihara as a curse upon the family. He despises his arrogance, fears his mysterious gift, and blames him for the misfortunes that befell them, especially their mother’s death. Convinced that Ishihara is mentally unstable, he harbors a deep grudge against him. Their constant, bitter clashes made reconciliation impossible. After Ishihara was driven from home, the brothers never spoke again, and Rindo was relieved to have him gone.
Junpei Daisuke (28 years old) — Ishihara’s second older brother. Easygoing, genuine, and guided by the motto Go with the flow, Junpei is known for his warmth and compassion. Deeply devoted to his family, he often acts as the peacemaker, using his calm and persuasive nature to defuse conflicts between Rindo and Ishihara. Unlike the rest of the family, Junpei has always treated Ishihara with kindness, and Ishihara genuinely appreciates him for it. However, he also resents Junpei at times, seeing him as a coward for siding with their father during past disputes. Since Ishihara left home, the two have never spoken in person, though Junpei continues to send occasional text messages that Ishihara quietly ignores.
Yudai Daisuke (21 years old) — Ishihara’s younger brother and the groundskeeper of the family shrine, where he is responsible for maintaining the gardens. Despite his intimidating appearance and naturally loud voice, Yudai is gentle, compassionate, and deeply devoted to both the shrine and his family. His blunt way of speaking often leads to misunderstandings, making it difficult for him to connect with others. As children, Yudai admired Ishihara and the two shared a close bond. However, as Ishihara grew increasingly rebellious and cruel toward the family, Yudai became deeply disappointed. Their relationship eventually fell apart, and he no longer has any desire to see his older brother again.
Koutarou Daisuke (17 years old) — shihara’s youngest brother, responsible for distributing omamori charms at the family shrine. Soft-spoken, gentle, and compassionate, Koutarou sees the good in everyone and is deeply troubled by the constant conflict within his family. He refuses to take sides in the feud between Rindo and Ishihara. Unlike the others, Koutarou believes he—not Ishihara’s mysterious gift—was responsible for their mother’s death, as she died giving birth to him. He once defended Ishihara against Rindo’s accusations and has never stopped caring for his older brother. Alongside Junpei, Koutarou continues to hope that Ishihara will one day return home so their family can finally reconcile.
