She was like the weather Unpredictable Even when you thought that you could see what was coming next Most of the time You were wrong

I am the seasons, I think sometimes, January, May, November; the mud, the mist, the dawn. I cannot be tossed about, or float gently, or mix with other people.

You only have one body, and one life, and you are fortunate to have that, it is important to love it and take care of it.
Kayla took her seat at the beginning of class, immediately leaning back and crossing her arms across her chest. She didnât spot anyone she really knew in class until a familiar face sat down next to her. She looked over them for a few moments, âHappy start of the new school year.â Kayla spoke in a sarcastic tone with a raise of her brows.

Moving to get up, he looked at her before laughing quickly, obviously a bit winded. âNo, its okay. I shouldnt have taken that corner so fast. I didnt know you ran this way.â Putting his hand on his knees and bending over slightly to catch his breath, he knew if he pushed it too hard her might have to reach for his inhaler, something he didnt want to do. Still, he could feel the present burning in his lungs as he tried to collect air properly. Forcing himself to stand back up straight, he messed with his fanny pack.  âHow has your summer been?âÂ
Placing a hand on her hip, breath still hitched, Kayla nodded at the boy and offered him a hand to help. âYeah, Iâve been getting kind of out of routine, but today was a good day for a run.â She watched as he tried to catch his breath. Kayla wiped a bead of sweat from her forehead and let out a deep sigh. âItâs actually been pretty great. Who knew time away from Whittemore would be so great?â Her words were laced with sarcasm on that last part. âHowâs yours?â
are you the princess or are you the dragon? i look at you and i am unsure. you are beautiful like the princess but your bight is much worse than the dragon you laugh in that quiet, tinkling sort of way but you scream as though you have never lost before and the tears they donât come often but princesses should cry like that.

Having left Serenaâs apartment, Gabriel had started his usual route on his run. He had talked to his therapist about the possibility of starting to work out with how it was meant to make you feel better overall. Healthy body, healthy mind right? Rounding the corner, he collided with someone and came to a stop, toppling over and forcing himself to one side so he didnt land onto of whoever he ran into. âShit sorryâ
Kayla had been enjoying the majority of her summer, spending her time away from school usually by herself. She had done some shopping, gone out to different places and even attended a few parties. She hadnât given up on going for a run a couple days a week though, which was what she was doing when she rounded the corner and ran straight into Gabe. Stumbling backwards, she took out her headphones. âJesus,â she looked up, catching her breath âSorry Gabe. I wasnât paying any attention.â

Annaâs lips curved into a soft smile, she didnât fight it. It was no secret that she was pleased, happy about the results. âAwesome,â she mumbled, taking a step backwards, just enough to place her change for her apple on the counter. âI live right around the corner, not a very far walk.â She couldnât help but notice Kaylaâs worrisome toying of her clothes, the little things she had been trained to catch. She didnât say anything, didnât even want to say anything. For now she was simply grateful about having a pretty girl come to her house.
Dropping her hands at her sides, Kayla forced herself to relax for the moment. She didnât want Anna to think she was against hanging out with her, that just seemed rude. Although if the other girl caught on or not, Kayla was clueless to it. She gave a soft smile, her stature much less nervous than the moments before. âThat sounds great,â she nodded. Adjusting the strap of the bag on her arm, she looked ahead. âLead the way.â
Sitting outside a local cafe, Kayla sat with a book in her lap, flipping through the pages breezily. She dropped her focus for a moment to look up and meet the eyes of whoever had been looking at her. âYou can keep looking at me like that, or you can sit down. Really itâs up to you, but I think the second option would make things less awkward.â
let her be everything because she is everything.
âOh!â Anna replied, unable to stop the few butterflies in her stomach. âIâm just going home to make some lunch.â She knew what she wanted to say next, but she forced herself to pause and really think about it. Would inviting her over be too much? She didnât know anything about the girl, really, besides how she looked up to her in certain ways. She was almost afraid of what would happen if she went ahead and just said it. But sheâd rather take the chance, after all, the only way to get close to her is to literally get close to her. âDo you want to come over? I make a mean ham sandwich.â
Kayla was nearly surprised by Annaâs words, but she wasnât as surprised as she almost was grateful. This would make things easier, yet more complicated all at the same time. For a few moments she was quiet, biting down on the inside of her cheek. âYeah,â she nodded her head, âsounds like a good plan to me.â Her hands nervously flitted at the bottom of her shirt, adjusting the hem. Kayla was not often nervous, and she couldnât detect why for this, she was.
After the slight collision he stepped backwards, noticing that his face was still presumably too close to hers, letting out a light laugh, âAnd why is that? I can only assume that the rest of the people have had a mediocre night judging by the fact there are no police cars around here. By the standards of Whittemore is that not the marker of a good evening?â
Tilting her head to the side for a few moments, Kayla watched people on the sidewalk behind the boy. âWell just about anything could be more interesting than a walk around town by yourself, but. I consider the fact that no one from Whittemore had attracted police cars lately as a hopefully good omen. So yes, youâre correct, I suppose that is a rather good evening.â
Seeing the girl turn around and smirk, Aiden pointed at her when she replied. âOh, thatâs right, you did look vaguely familiar. See, I thought maybe you were famous or something. Heaven knows Iâve had to deal with enough celebrities in my life.â Though he sounded sarcastic, he was being serious, he couldnât count the famous people heâd met on his fingers. It wasnât something he bragged about, though. It meant nothing to him. âAre you having a good summer?â He asked, not typically the curious type, but for some reason, he genuinely cared to hear her answer â maybe he had grown attached to the people at his school and a small part of him actually missed the company. Maybe.
Kayla nodded, playing along for the moment. âHm, no, not famous. Although Iâm sure youâre right, there have got to be plenty of famous people you deal with every day.â She crossed her arms over her chest and let out a short laugh. Celebrities held no meaning to Kayla, the only sheâd ever met was Chandler at school, and that especially held very little meaning considering everyone else knew her as well. âYeah, actually. I mean, any summer is great compared to the last few months at Whittemore,â she laughed it off. âWhat about you?â
